My tip for the day : Always use the same ruler for your whole project. Using different brands can and will change the size of blocks. And do not use the grid on cutting mats instead of the ruler to cut patches.

Sounds very interesting....I will go and check it out. Today's a rainy day...might actually get some sewing done today :)

My "Tuesday Tip" is one that many of you may already know, but it was new to me not long ago. It is "spiraling" the seam allowances at the intersection of the 4 squares in a 4-patch. There is a link to a video which explains it better and quicker than I could. It first talks about nesting seams, then goes on to talk about sprialing seams. It's a great technique and makes your 4-patches behave that much better!

HI to all, My tip for Tuesday.....The pedicure toe separators make great holders for your bobbins that are not being used. I can color code them and them store them in a small clear box with a snap shut lid. They stay neat and wound with the thread.

I don't think a pattern link counts as a tip but this shows two quilts I think I'm in love with!

Since I posted this link originally, I want to say that the search is worth the look. It has some beautiful new or should I say old examples of using 2.5 or perhaps 2 inch squares. I'll try the link again. It works for me on my desk top but when I tried it on my supper duper laptop it would not open. Weird world of wonderful technology I guess. http://barbarabrackman.blogspot.com/...ley-patch.html |
Not sure what happened. I'm not in good cell coverage often here. But let's try this. http://weddingdressblue.wordpress.co...le-baby-quilt/ I think I'd really like to do it, only maybe queen size!
