Still waiting on one of mine. Deadline is getting closer so Solon I should have mine. I understand With the weather though. Here it's been horrible and very cold. Hope all is safe from the hurricane and the storm.

Robinlee 10-31-2012 06:19 AM

My Christmas ornaments are in the mail. Yes I wait till today, just seems odd that we are thinking of christmas, when it's only Halloween "today". And, Yes I know......Christmas has been at Walmart and Kmart in ND/SD since the middle of September.

and I did get one set of my ornaments (Thanks so much - love the machine embroidery one)on Saturday, will post pic's when the other one comes.

Happy Halloween and Merry Christmas

Tothill 10-31-2012 07:12 AM

My ornament will be in the mail today. I do not have a photo, I will try to get one before I finish sealing the box.

QuilterMomma 10-31-2012 07:40 AM

My ornaments won't go out till tomorrow. Sorry it is last minute but that was the deadline and I like to wait on these to be mailed in November instead of October. Love the anticipation.

terriquilt1 10-31-2012 09:46 AM

Ok, my ornaments are finally on their way! I was going to mail on Monday, but with the hurricane decided to wait a couple of days and see what happened. My partners should receive these in a couple of days.

Nelco 10-31-2012 09:55 AM

Happy you like them...Hope to be your swap partner again.

Very nice ornaments all! I feel so bad for all who have been so negatively impacted by hurricane Sandy....I am thankful Krystyna and her family are safe, will continue praying for her and all the others who face challenges ahead with all the damage that was done...

Opps, I forgot to take a photo or even put my screen name on my package.

It is not a tree ornament, but I hope the recipient likes it.

There is a little extra in the box as well.

It will take 7-9 days to get to my recipient.

Beautiful ornaments Qbee! Maybe 1 is coming to Florida!

CountryHouseQuilter 10-31-2012 06:24 PM

I'm going to try and sneak away to the post office tomorrow. I have my ornaments all done, but with Sandy blowing through our area hard we ended up with water in our basement. First time since we moved here 6 years ago. Something with the generator and the electrical setup a "friend" did years ago. Anyway, I've been in the basement for the last 2 days mopping. Tomorrow will be more cleaning but if DH turns his head long enough I'm sneaking out to the postoffice...hehehe. Want my ornament recipients to get theirs on time. If I don't get them sent tomorrow, it will definately be on Friday as I go back to work and can sneak away then.

Love all the pictures. I want to take one of the ones I received already and post them but haven't had time. Will get to that soon, promise!!!!!!

QuilterMomma 11-01-2012 07:56 AM

That is a pretty ornament Anastasia, now how do you do that? Where is the pattern to make those? Would love to make a few for my craft show.

MINE ARE IN THE MAIL TODAY! I put two in because I could not decide which ones to send. I know, supposed to do one, but did not pack any chocolate in the envelope or any other goodies. I did remember a note which I am grateful I did. That is generally the hard thing for me to remember.

Robinlee 11-01-2012 08:14 AM

Yes, Alicia, I received yours over the weekend. I will take pic's when I receive others.

thanks so much

REMEMBER TO MAIL OUT YOUR ORNAMENTS IF YOU HAVEN"T DONE SO YET:thumbup:

QuilterMomma 11-01-2012 09:33 AM

I could not even pack the Halloween candy in the envelope because DH hid it from me so I could not eat any and break my diet.

lynnie 11-01-2012 03:26 PM

When i worked at the casket co. I kept up a white tree from Jan. To Nov.
i made ornaments for each months holiday.
white tree like a christmas tree made a matching tree skirt, and lights for that season or holiday 3 1/2" high.
After turkey day, the green went up with christmas deco.s
All the men thought i was crazy...then every month, the candy and cookies would change with the tree.
for some strange reason, they always came into my room for a visit...a few times a day.

JuneBillie 11-01-2012 04:30 PM

lynnie how tall was your white tree?

CountryHouseQuilter 11-01-2012 04:57 PM

JuneBillie - I put up a wrought iron tree. I found it on one of my trips to PA for fabric. It is shaped like a cone (tree) with rings every foot or so. There is an iron star at the top. DH got me zip ties and I zip tied clear lights to its "ribs". The light string is dark brown so it blends in. Right now there is also a string of autumn lights on it, that have leaves, squash and corn. Found them at JoAnn's in the summer. I have Shammrock lights, easter egg lights, flip flop lights and heart lights. I use just the clear ones that are on it at Christmas. And I'm always looking for different lights after the holidays. I'll try and take a picture and post it so you can see.

lynnie 11-01-2012 05:26 PM

My tress were 3" to 3-1/2" high. My office was only about 16 x 16.
my sewing room was about 25' sq.with a hugh 10' sq table in the middle to lay out things.

lynnie 11-01-2012 05:28 PM

Chq i had those lights. Wasnt extra fun to find them lillian vernon always something neat for the trees

cuppy 11-01-2012 05:32 PM

.

Those are the ones where you take a styrofoam (smooth kind) ball and you draw segments, then cut on your line, then shove the fabric in. As you can see in that pic one of the segments got a little too much glue. You don't have to use glue but I painted a little on, it helped keep the fabric from just sliding from side to side as I shoved. But that was the one I mentioned where I said I was shoving just to the side of my line and made a groove that didn't belong so then I hotglued the trim over the segment joints. They weren't even remotely equally segmented out cause I suck at that. I found youtube videos for those. You can just search youtube for fabric ornaments and look in the list for the ball ones that dont' look like the folded stars. Though you can find the folded star ones on there as well. they're so easy.

ljdugas31 11-01-2012 07:28 PM

Cuppy THANK YOU for my cross-stich ornament i love it....

dluvs2quilt 11-01-2012 07:45 PM

You can have a small christmas tree up year round about 3ft tall and decorate with pink and red hearts for valentines
day,and St .Patricks day with coins, shamrocks, green hats, for Easter with easter eggs, flowers, small baskets,4th of July flags, stars,Haloween pumpkins, fall leaves, etc. The craft stores also carry small foam shapes in plastic tubs that have a sticky side you can punch a hole at the top of the foam shapes and hang from the trees with ornament hooks.
Note: Dont stick the foam shapes to glass.Or you will spend a lot of time removing them.Lesson learned!!
