This is the ornament I received from Sistadebbra it is so cute! Thank you so much!

trouble with joining to many swaps at the same time is that you spend just as much time juggling the deadlines as you do in making or shopping for whatever item the swap calls for. I love these swaps but this last month i think i bit off a little more than i should have based on the deadlines. I have been juggling projects trying to make sure that i meet each deadline, that i forgot to take pics of the ornaments rec'd and send thank yous. my apologies to all concerned. be sure that they were well rec'd and adored. I shall post pics asap.

QuilterMomma 11-09-2012 03:13 PM

I'll tell you what, if they do not sell at the craft show, like I need 27 of the little angels around, I will sell them to you so they do not sit in a box until next year.

Here are the finished angels I am selling at the craft show. I also pulled out my quilts to put in the show. Wow, did not realize how many were hidden back there. Child is going to help me to get the prices on them and she will be with me tomorrow. So nice of her to be such a great assistant. then got some gift card envelopes made. They turned out so nice. Got them off embroidery library. Sweet. Maybe get some gift tags made. Got a few fabric gift bags made. not the embroidery one I wanted, but eh, what the hey. It is what it is. Have the snowflakes and the ornament covers also done. May try to stitch out a couple while at the show tomorrow. We will see how that goes. They take so long to do. Well, day is about done. Hardly on here this week, felt lonely. So glad i found this board nearly two years ago. Made some wonderful friends here and awesome to ask these kinds of questions. Thanks ladies. I even fixed the computer myself.

brenda21 11-09-2012 04:23 PM

They really turned out nice quiltermomma!!

Tam...Moo 11-09-2012 04:27 PM

After coming home this morning after being gone for the last 2 weeks on a work assignment, I had a package waiting for me from Dotski. My other swap partner was stitchingpost.

From Dotski, I received a very clever tree ornament made from denim. I'm a jeans person so this really fits my personality. And I also received a cute star button to add to my growing collection of buttons that I am having fun with. You can never have too many buttons!

Then the two embroidered ornaments from stitchingpost are beautiful as well. Not to mention the goodies I received with them.

Thank you to both ladies for the awesome ornaments. This has been fun swap and I will be sure to do this again!!

QuilterMomma 11-09-2012 04:54 PM

That stocking is pretty. That is jean material? Then the holly leaves, wow, you scored also.

QuilterMomma 11-09-2012 04:56 PM

Whew, then $3.00 each will be reasonable. That is what I am going to ask for them at the show. Thank you ladies. I did burn my finger with the glue gun today finishing them. That is better than the finger pokes from the needle I was getting so went to the other source, glue. Well, off to the grocery store, the quilt store, and then home. Oh yes, need a shot at the quilt store, the Sulky glue spray stuff, the best on market.

That spool ornament is so darn cute!

owlvamp 11-10-2012 07:59 PM

Love the tree and spool ornament. Very cute!

Elisabrat 11-11-2012 06:46 AM

Very pretty stuff received an email that apologized for being late with my ornie and that it was coming. YIPPEEEE Santa didnt forget me! I wasnt as bad as I thought! (phew that might have been close if it was based on being good). I love your angels Quilter momma after your craft show and your offers here if you still have any in white I would love to get them from you. $3 is very reasonable for an ornament. I still think you sell your stuff to cheap but far be it for me to say raise the price for me please! actually i would say it and think I have :) while you dont want to charge too much its not unreasonable to get something within reason for your time. imho.. which I don't have :)

CountryHouseQuilter 11-11-2012 09:40 AM

roseirish - Lucky you!!!! Love the stocking and the Santa ornaments!!!!!

Brenda21 - another lucky one!!! That tree is stinkin' cute!!!! And what a great idea with the spool - might have to steal that one!!!!

Love all the ornies I've seen posted here. We're all so lucky to get such beautiful things for our trees!!!! And such talented ladies!!!!

SewExtremeSeams 11-11-2012 12:26 PM

I totally agree!!

marytoddliz 11-11-2012 10:44 PM

I love the spool, and heaven knows I have lots of empty ones, the cats play with them, until I step on them in the dark! But it is still better than the darn mouse that squeaks and makes me jump outta my skin!

I love all the great ideas for making ornaments.

Beth, You need to charge more! you can always come down on your prices, but I agree with Brat, charge more for them at first. The big craft fair I do every year is Dec 1st and they have some that are not even as cute and they were selling for $5, but part of the price is truly where you are selling! If I try to sell things in my own neighborhood, I get nothing, but I drive up the hill into the million dollar homes area, Stuff sells and for a good price. I think the reason is the people who live in those homes really do appreciate good quality workmanship, where as my neighborhood, Walmart or the $1 store is good enough!

I have been trying to get my stuff featured in a boutique where the people who live in those wonderful homes shop! I am taking some stuff in to see if she want to try and sell it. There has to be something for being able to get local artists to sell. After all if she runs out I can drive right over and restock!

I love that denim ornament! i have a few denim items (Our business is recycled Denim mostly) I have a few ornaments, didn't even think of trading them here! next year for sure.

sasquilter 11-12-2012 09:15 AM

What a fun surprise I found in my mailbox today!!!!! Thank you so much Aurora. I love both my ornaments, the tree is darling and how did you make the smallest yoyo at the top? The spool is great. I have lots of old spools and would never have thought to make the ornament you did. I love them. Thank you!!!!!!! sasquilter

brenda21 11-12-2012 09:54 AM

Unfortunately, I may need a few angels to send out ornaments...please PM me if you are able to be one:thumbup:

QuilterMomma 11-12-2012 10:05 AM

Thank you Mary. I did sell several at the $3 price. Sold a set of Snowflakes as well. It is where you are selling them at. I think if I really get into doing craft shows, will go somewhere else where there is lots more traffic. sold enough to pay for my space, my lunch and gas there and back. My time went for free. God is good though.

jaba 11-12-2012 10:30 AM

I found the same thing here at those craft shows. Did a couple of them and quickly decided it wasn't my cup of tea. Lots of work for lunch and a couple gallons of gas QuilterMomma. Fun to make but I think I'd rather give them away, more joy to me

lynnie 11-12-2012 12:01 PM

I did two shows a few yrs back. The first a catholic church two days 9-6 and 12-6 . Changed some of the stuff up a bit,did a jewish temple, one day, 12-4. Made more money at the temple ($10.00), but didnt have to haggle and the people seemed to appriciate my artwork. They loved the tablerunners potholders, coasters, and jewelry. Even the doggie bisquits dissappeared.. one cust. Bought them all.
i didnt hear one person at the temple say they could make it. Atthe church, that seemed to be a song everyone was singing.
thetemple was35 miles away in a better part of town the church five miles away in an average part of town. Both charged the same price for the table

Boy I wish I could have gotten one of each ornament! They are all great, and the variety is amazing. I read somewhere an idea for those spool ornaments. The suggestion was to make one after Christmas for each kid with a list of what they got for Christmas that year. I wish I had seen that idea before my son grew up!

MrsM 11-13-2012 08:07 AM

I have been so inspired by all of you. I hope to make a few more ornaments for this year and definately will start earlier for next year and include a small treat. Thanks.

owlvamp 11-13-2012 10:43 AM

I need to start making them early too. I know I am going to want to do the swap so I should be smart about it. Need to keep it on mind somewheres. LOL :)

QuilterMomma 11-13-2012 03:49 PM

Make them now so they are ready for next year.:D

cherrio 11-13-2012 06:41 PM

I am so gonna do this for the grandsons. they are only 4 yrs and 20 months so their mom can carry on with it. thanks!

High end markets are the place to do your craft shows. You pay more for your booth/table but you will net more also. The day goes faster. I sold in a very wealthy neighborhood, a friend had a show in her home. We all put up signs, in key traffic areas, we all were to work a schedule of time say three hours each day of the show and we paid a percentage to her of all our sales. I made bank. Sounded expensive but it was worth it. The ladies came in, thought NOTHING of dropping money on things most of us would think twice over. they like a jam buy three cases for client gifts. not one item I sold was bargained with. I came home almost empty handed. so knowing your target market, knowing how much time will be put in getting it in the paper, internet, signage. all plays in to how much you reap. she also had only so many of each item being sold by differrent venders only two jam sales, only four tshirt sales, three earrings etc. so it was a very broad variety and worked. My last sale was not researched much by me, it was reasonable, seemed right. No advertising at all. none. signage three signs period. not a great traffic neighborhood at all. lousy sales. Sold like four pillows and one scarf. Not worth it at all. Good luck to those who still have shows. Sell your products dont wait for them to sell themselves, talk it up.. ok enough.

I received an abundance of ornaments this day. I asked for ornaments for Seniors at this lower income senior home I had to stay in during recovery. lonely place. The donations from the Quilting Board members have been outstanding. Jaba, Nancia, Grann of 6, hobbykat, Mdall, tam moo Linda S. with her white snowflakes (eyes).. they will bring so many smiles. I took some photos tonight but the internt is not up for uploads. I will post them when its ready for that. I am sorry I did not get to the post office, I have to wait as I had surgery last thursday so no driving. I am itching to be moving again! thank you every single one of you who helped me get this together for the ladies and men there. You guys rock SMOOCH

these are just a few very lousy pics that I took of the wonderful ornies and gifts given to me for the Senior home. Thank you everyone! I will put them in an album so they are all there but wow. jaba I believe I have posted your ornies already as theyare now in the bay area I cant add them. My apologies.

jaba 11-14-2012 08:03 AM

Not a problem Linda. I'm sure when all of these are on their Christmas tree or are hanging in their rooms it will bring a little smile to their face. Hopefully they will lift spirits and the holiday will be much nicer for them.

Thank you, I wish I could take credit for it, but I found it on line a couple of years ago. The spools came from Hobby Lobby (four in a bag).

owlvamp 11-14-2012 08:33 AM

Beautiful ornaments and I know they will love seeing them on their trees. Way to go lady's you all did a wonderful job.
