Jaba, your reindeer decoration is adorable! I can't imagine anyone not wanting it! :)

Nelco 10-04-2012 05:25 PM

It is so cute --I would love to have him on my tree

OMG.. Reindeer.. needs to come live in my pocket.

starshine 10-04-2012 07:02 PM

mdall both your ornaments are wonderful
Jaba the reindeer is charming and I too would love it.

Its probably a good thing we don't have to all make one for everyone on this swap. They are all great.

I think I have decided on which one to make, I have been having ideas dance around in my head and even search for some additional ideas. When I get them made I'll post a picture if I get that new skill to work.

I THINK THAT REINDEER HAS MY NAME ON IT! It is the cutest thing ever, well ok the others are really cute too. I love your snowmen and the button ornament too. I will post a picture of the one I made, but it still needs that final touch "Candy" gotta fill that puppy to the brim with Candy! Tomorrow I will go shopping and buy some. The can is a tomato Sauce can with holes made by ice pick and a little wire for the handle, a little ribbon painted and decoupaged with christmas fabric. Super easy and super cute when filled with candy!

Pat625 10-04-2012 07:47 PM

Since at this time of year we all look at the polls!! I have decided that I will conduct a poll on the ornaments everyone is creating!!

Love the nativity set, the snowman is adorable and the reindeer is SO unique!! What everyone needs to do is send me one of each ornament you are making. I will keep track of comments and votes for all that enter my house!! Then I can send everyone the poll results! (sounded good to me LOL)

Anastasia 10-04-2012 10:02 PM

And to make sure it's an objective poll, I will run a similar one and therefore there should be 2 sets, with one coming to my house. Different demographics and all.

lauriejo 10-05-2012 03:53 AM

Gosh all the ornaments are great! Half the fun of a swap like this is seeing the variety of skills amongst the quilters. Aren't we a talented bunch.

lynnie 10-05-2012 06:14 AM

everything is beautiful so far, but i must add, i hope that reindeer has my name on it, otherwise, you might have orders for it, and become...the next santas helper

jaba 10-05-2012 06:47 AM

That is the cutest little soup-candy can I have ever seen MaryT. Wonder if my little great grand daughters would like that, hmm bet so. Hope you don't mind if I steal your idea to make a couple. Not sure about the polls ladies, wouldn't want you to work that hard during the holidays. Takes alot of time you know keeping track and making those counts very accurate. lynnie, my husband use to make these for a craft show when he lived in the Dakota's, still has the pattern so that's where I got it. I'd sure need his help to be able to take orders but I'll ask. Each one is a little different, some are pine, birch, oak, walnut, etc. just whatever wood he has. Sanded, paint on a little facial expression and 2-3 coats of poly. I've had mine for a few years and he's always stands underneath the tree and protects it. Glad everyone seems to like our little Rudolph. Have to get his little bell on today and they'll be ready to mail.

lynnie 10-05-2012 12:26 PM

I love that little reindeer. I hope you dont mine, i think ill borrow you soupcan idea, ill do it for halloween for my nephews.
some very creative people here.
I was hoping my swap partners would get them today. The lying lady at the p.o. said you would.

grann of 6 10-05-2012 12:41 PM

Well, my ornaments are being delayed again. I went to Walmart yesterday to pick up red and green narrow ribbon. Would you believe those were the only empty ribbbon bins???? Was going to go to Joanns tomorrow, forgetting I have the 2 teen DGKs here for a weekend of helping me out. They need to earn money (want to earn money), and I am the likely candidate for $$$$extraction.:D So it will have to wait till Monday or Tuesday.

mdall 10-05-2012 01:03 PM

Everyone stop and listen. No reason to keep fusing and trying to convince Jaba and Marrytoddliz to send that Reigndeer and Can ornament to you. They are all mine and I know this becuase I have a direct line to Santa. I am married to him. LOL

Love those ornaments ladies.

QuilterMomma 10-05-2012 03:53 PM

Don't worry Jaba, I don't "WANT" that reindeer, I MUST have it!

jaba 10-05-2012 05:20 PM

I hear all of you loud and very clear. Hubby says they are for sell. I'm still laughing Pat625 and probably will be for the rest of the night. Thanks I really needed that tonight!! Getting real sick of those damn tomatoes after 11 more quarts today. It's snowing here right now and the fireplace is burning!! 28 and dropping, Lord help me.

marytoddliz 10-05-2012 05:21 PM

rofl, pat that is so funny! OK My mind is warped.

My husband had the same idea about the cans, he is now in full production mode making halloween treats! He wants to hand them out to all the little trick or treaters that come here!

Last year we had well over 100, when we ran out of candy he started giving out my collection of happy meal toys. I was cool with it but I know the kids will be back expecting good treats. If he hands out the little cans filled with candy, next year we will have them lined up at the door!

jaba 10-05-2012 06:01 PM

maryt you better start saving alot of newspaper, wad it up and stuff those cans, then they can see their candy treat on top. What are you doing with all that tomato sauce??? BIG party at your house huh? I can bring the onions from the garden and have lots of burger from a beef. Spagetti sauce in a big pot... Still laughing about the once a year santa!!!!

brenda21 10-05-2012 06:10 PM

Jaba you have SNOW????

jaba 10-05-2012 06:45 PM

It was snowing but it has quit for right now. Really cold and suppose to get down to 19 tonight. The fireplace is running . Sent you a Pm lynnie. Wish I was at your house, I'd be lovin' that heat, just right for me about now.

owlvamp 10-05-2012 06:51 PM

Yep I remember living in Wyoming and it snowed way past the fence. Everyone was snowed in and had to dig there selves out. That was a real treat. How much are you, selling the reindeer for? I just love it I hope one comes my way.

ljdugas31 10-05-2012 07:45 PM

Jaba I love the raindeer you have my address i would buy one two and three.Just LOVE them.

Nelco 10-05-2012 08:31 PM

I must confess. I have a few ideas for my ornament but have not even started. :(Before I know it I will need to get them in the mail. What is a person to do?

Pat625 10-05-2012 08:33 PM

I am jealous of all of you with cooler weather..Even with the afternoon thunderstorms it was 90 here! I used to love the heat until my COPD got bad..Thought about moving to another state with cooler weather, but 8 of my 14 grandbabies are real close to me, and the rest are about 2 1/2 hours away..Not sure if I could live in a different state from them

starshine 10-05-2012 08:49 PM

BRRR!! I'm glad it isn't snowing here  looks like the reindeer are a real hit with everyone.
Pat625 too funny, but on another note, I agree that we couldn't ask you and Anastacia to sacrafice so much of your time.
Maryt that candy can is really cute and it can work with so many things. I'll bet we see them pop up all over the place.
Nelco I think I'm close to deciding what to make but I haven't started yet either. I'm sure we will get there.

Elisabrat 10-05-2012 09:19 PM

Ever hear of the Grinch? well he wears these little pink snowflake pj's and has bare feet and sneaks into all of your homes and takes your ornaments well and then because he wants to do whats right he deposits them all on my shelf and all the who's in who'sville are happy and so am I. that is how the real story goes. Honest. Now , send me your addresses. all that everyone has done or shown are adorable and I think owning even one would be a lovely addition to my favorite holiday to decorate for. I need two of those reindeer for both sides of the hutch and I need angels to hang from my garland and what else. tins of candy.. no tins no candy maybe pinecones as well Steve will empty them lickty split of their treats and what do I do? not supporting that pricy habit. Little glue glitter and tada permanet ornament for me safe from my Santa. he is also the grinch when it comes to candy. I buy it, put it on the table GONE in the fridge I hide it, GONE same with icecream, cookies any and all treats. GONE. So hows about two reindeer, two buckets of pinecones, two nativity sets one for each room, bells lots of bells.. Anastasia your felting right? two of those, and what else .. don't worry the grinch will remember.

Anastasia 10-05-2012 11:45 PM

I actually started working on one tonight. it's going to be pretty, but my fingers might not survive!!! No.. not felting. Had originally thought of some felt ornaments but found these instead. :D

ljdugas31 10-06-2012 05:37 AM

I am making cross-stich ornaments a mitten and some folk art dec. coming out cute hope my partners like them...

You girls are cracking me up! Making Christmas ornaments isn't supposed to be this much fun is it????? LOL! Okay, here is another ornament I made...a mini quilted and lined Christmas stocking. I just have to fill it with some candy and or other goodies...

jaba 10-06-2012 06:49 AM

Ronda those are so cute. 2 years ago Bill's kids were all here and my kids plus all grandkids. I went to walmart and had to buy 25 stockings and hung them across the fireplace mantle. Even had to pin them to the drapes. These would take up less room and they are much much nicer plus I wouldn't have to put so much stuff in them, now that's a big plus. So I'm just saying 25 would be good at this house and you'd help me out so much with my Xmas budget. It takes alot of food to feed that bunch, thank heavens for the garden then, and they will all be here again at Thanksgiving this year, so that's when we will celebrate Xmas together. I'll be watching my mail very closely.

Happy Tails 10-06-2012 07:17 AM

Pat Pat Pat!!!!! OMG I nearly spit my coffee all over my computer. We must have been married to the same looser.....oops I mean hmmmmm man? LMAO tooooo funny!!!!!!!

LOL! I'm thinking your kids would call you "stingy" as these little guys only measure 6" from head to toe and only have 1 1/2" room from side to side...they do look cute as garland though. It's tricky to find things small enough to fill them up. Your grandkids definately need big stockings...that's what the dollar store is designed for isn't it? LOL!

owlvamp 10-06-2012 08:58 AM

Beautiful little stocking. Love them. You are so talented.
