I had this vision from the moment I saw her fabric and lets just say my visions are much more creative than my hands are. I'm not unhappy with the final product it's just not what what I was seeing. Truthfully that is often the case for me.

So the last one is made and the last pictures are taken, they are going in the mail tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to getting all my kitties back even if it will be awhile before I get to finish them. Between the quilt commitments I really must take care of and Mr. Bill and I able to travel more often I'm going to have to call this my last boom for the time being.

That makes me pretty sad I have learned a lot and this has made me a better quilter. I will also very much miss all of you.

I agree - all the dresdens would make an awesome quilt all by themselves! Amazing!
Jaba - so glad you made it back safe and with more fabric! Always a pleasure to have some new to help play with the left behind material

Oh I love sugar skulls. Thank you Billi. I know the boomers will be sorry to see you go.

sewbizgirl 04-11-2017 03:27 PM

Awesome blocks, Billi! The sugar skull is great. I'm sad you won't be playing next time. Maybe by the time it rolls around, you'll have more time and change your mind. Be sure to show us as you get your quilts put together.

I've just been quilting my Storm Trooper blocks. Almost done. 30 blocks and only a bit more quilting on two of them and I can start joining them. It's always amazing how the quilt is just *done* once you put the blocks together. Only needs binding. I kind of wanted to get that one done and off the table before my April blocks come back, as well as my blocks from a local swap. We'll see!

Oh no Billi...so sorry to hear that. I hope you can join in again soon. Its always a joy to get your blocks an to read your comments!! Hope you reconsider!!

Billi great blocks. Hope you will have time to join us again but sure understand the traveling bug. We will miss you.

i have been practicing on my sweet 16, can meander like crazy but branching out and trying flowers and using rulers. Quite laughable at this point, need lots more practice

Billi great sugar skull block. Sorry you won't be joining the booms for a while, but glad it is for good things.

jaba 04-11-2017 07:19 PM

Kass- you are a lucky lady! Those taxes drive me crazy to get everything ready for the CPA, This year a challenge, bought and sold a lot of property and such.
Didn't know about the other quilt shop there, knew about the museum but not enough time. Going back in October so it will be on the list of things I should do on the journey back to FL for the winter. For sure the backroom is awesome and yes I bought a couple of quilt packs. Hubby picked out 1 that was amazing but I had to say No! paper piecing is not my thing. Never get it right and a kit would be a disaster, I'd run out of fabric and end up with a wall hanging if I was lucky...
Billi, I understand where you are at...family first always! Hope you are able to make a little time and check in once in a while, we will miss you for sure. We're always here when life changes for you:)

Billi, I surely understand the "family first" too. My DH and I loved traveling. You go for it! We will miss you, but we'll remember what fun you and Mr. Bill are having. You can always pop in just to say hello from time to time. Safe travels, my friend, and enjoy every single moment of it!
