Sorry I haven't been on the site lately. M-fay - I echo the messages above and thank you for picking this up.
Has there been any news from Peggy? Have you seen anything from the mug rug group? Thanks and regards to all. |

r-sea’s postcard arrived yesterday. Fantastic postcard. She also included newspaper clippings. I had never heard of the Pinnacles. A wonder of nature! They look like a field of monuments. Thank you, Roslyn. I love learning new things.

I am sorry for missing all the fun with the post cards. This past year has been a hectic one, not only because of Covid but also my dad's failing health. Between Parkinson's and dementia he required more of my time and toward the end even more! Some days I am not sure he knew me, although I think he had a vague idea that he knew me in some manner:-( He had outbursts of paranoia as well. He died April 22, 2021 and has finally found some peace.
It's a shame more people don't realize how much fun and the potential to attempt new concepts in quilt techniques on a small, more manageable scale. I tried to learn something new with each card. At times this really stretched my brain. After seeing dementia up close and personal, I want to keep expanding and using all the brain cells I have. Quilted post cards was a wonderful avenue for doing just that and I will miss the challenges. Thank you all for allowing me to join, stretch and grow. Hopefully we can start again some time in the future. Best Wishes to you all and keep sewing! |
Lena1952, I’m so sorry for your loss. My Mom passed away 5 years ago. She also suffered from confusion and paranoia in her final years. Warm hugs for you.

Lena 1952, I loss my husband two years ago with parkinsons . I looked after him for 20 years but he never had dementia and for the same reason as you I need to keep my brain working and using the post card swap made you think what to do then how to do it with little cost

thank you R-Sea and BlueridgeBeverly for you kind words and support. It has certainly not been an easy year for many of us. Hopefully we can reconnect in some quilty manner in the future. Thank you M-fay for picking up the challenge of moderating the post card group. Its' never easy to be in the drivers seat.
