Jane that is beautiful colors, I like the softness of it and then the pop! I've been mentioning this swap today as I meandered around the board, Maybe we'll have some new ones soon.

u did forget me, i said i will start with 1 set, and when i get those done, if i think i hwve time i will do another one, i love all the blocks i see here so far and im looking for cool patterns on 10 in block, found one, but want to find a couple more to make a decision then i will stitch them up, i have such beautiful colors to choose form now thanks to some very kind adn generous fellow quilters who either traded, gave or offered at very reasonable prices for purchase extremely nice batik fabric, so yes do add me for 1 now, ill get back if i need another one

I'm finding that simple blocks really work up nicely in batiks, and if you think about using a 4 patch block style, the measurements are pretty easy. I'm plugging different blocks into EQ7 with a 10" finished block and getting the cutting measurements from there. It's a fun process! I'm going to a quilting class this weekend... will bring my blocks for show and tell and see if I can get some folks interested.

These are all really nice. I was planning on doing the same block that you have with the turtle fabric. I think the yellow/orange/green fabric combo is stunning!

Don't know if anyone has this book, but I found that "Around the Block Again" by Judy Hopkins has lots of blocks at the 10" finished size. I'm going to pick the pattern for my 3rd set from there. Designing my own unique block for the second set - hope it turns out interesting! - Karin

I'm working on a block but am having difficulty sticking to batiks only .... there's some other fabrics in my stash that keep working their way into my design. Maybe I need to go shopping for more batiks?

I am going to make some first and then sign up, cause I dont want to get to busy and then not get it done

I totally understand... my deadlines seem to be what keeps me producing though, sadly!!

I'm still figuring out sashing for blocks I got in a couple of previous batik swaps but enjoy the variety of gorgeous blocks received. Did get two of them completed and gifted. One went as a Christmas gift and the other to a teenager who lost her mom in a car wreck between Christmas and New Years.

mom-6 just send your name in and info, doesn't close until the 15th of Feb.

Thanks jaba. Think I will follow short and sweet's example and get a set done before I sign up to be sure the time crunch doesn't land on me with a vengence, which it has a habit of doing just when I'm sure I have plenty of time to get everything done.

Got a set done last night but discovered they are the wrong size. However I'm not really upset because I like them so much they wouldn't be able to leave my house anyway. LOL! Think I'm going to make some more just like them till I run out if one of the fabrics. So sorry y'all, you just have to wait for another batch with different pattern and fabrics.

WhooHoo! Got three sets done using up the remainder of a couple batik jelly rolls I had used for Bargello wall hangings and a tote for a friend. Sorry my new phone is not cooperating when I try to post pictures.

I will post tomorrow as I have the list on my computer at work. We are really close ... Yay!!!

Get that phone to cooperate mom-6, I want to peek at them. Awesome, can't wait to get new ones back.

Jaba I wish it would! Haven't had a chance to talk to my friend who knows such things. He's been busy working on getting the new office wiring finished and the Internet up which is much more time critical. Maybe sometime next week he will have it all done and I can ask.
