Four others have mailed so should be here any day, two I haven't heard from as of yet that they've mailed.

I am finishing up my last two sets. My plan is to sort this weekend and mail on Monday.

Crafty3790 hope your mail is faster than mine to CA. It has to arrive by tomorrow, Traci is sorting on Friday, Sat, and then sending back to us.

Crafty3790 02-27-2013 06:28 PM

I sent it priority she should get it fri. I told her it would arrive then. I hope so.

jaba 02-27-2013 06:43 PM

Glad you let her know. I hope it arrives too, we need all the variety we can get. I liked your blocks by the way, so I'll just tell you now, thanks for swapping with all of us.

mom-6 02-28-2013 01:21 AM

Crafty3790-those are beautiful blocks! Hope some of them find their way to my house!

Crafty3790 02-28-2013 05:59 AM

Glad you like them.

tracibug 02-28-2013 03:59 PM

Received MaryMo and squires 1082 today, waiting for two more!!

jclinganrey 03-01-2013 10:59 AM

Hi group!

I apologize for holding things up with this swap. I am 100% responsible. As a 'thank you' to my fellow swappers for being so patient with me, I would like to give each of you a batik FQ. Plz know, though, it will add a bit of weight in your return package. Is that's okay with everyone?

If so, please let me know your color preference ASAP so I can start cutting. I want to get everything in the mail TODAY. I'm sure you want that too. How many swappers do we have? I'll put in some surprise FQ's for those who don't let me know soon. (and I mean soon).

Thanks again everyone!!

Jane

tracibug 03-01-2013 11:23 AM

Hi Jane-

That is such a generous offer... There's 13 of us total. I'm a red/purple/gray/black kind of girl but I've yet to meet a batik that I didn't like. :)

jclinganrey 03-01-2013 11:35 AM

I'll check back periodically through the day for everyone's color preferences. I really want to get this in the mail today. Worst case scenerio, I'll just make some 'executive' decisions and send enough FQ's for for Traci to send out. Sound okay?

Jane

jclinganrey 03-01-2013 11:37 AM

Ooohhh!!! Almost forgot! I only have 10 swapper screen names. Traci - plz let me know who I'm missing. Plz PM me.

Jane

Crafty3790 03-01-2013 11:56 AM

I like blues but you really don't need to that's very thoughtful.

jaba 03-01-2013 12:34 PM

I like purple and teal, but I really don't understand why you think you're holding us up for the swap . Really not necessary for you to go to that expense. Just letting us know that you're late is good, lots more than alot of swappers would do. So all's good with me and I'm sure your blocks will be worth the tiny bit of waiting.

Muse&Sew 03-01-2013 12:55 PM

jclinganrey, I'm game for any FQ you send. I love any color of batik, they're all so beautiful! Thanks for your thoughtfulness.

jclinganrey 03-03-2013 11:06 PM

My package went to the PO yesterday. Keep an eye out for it, Traci. Hope everyone likes their FQ's!

Jane

cuppy 03-04-2013 04:40 PM

my package was mailed out today. sorry for being a few days late, had a some dental work done the past week, and a serious spider bite reaction, could not get to post office last week, had them mailed out today.

jaba 03-04-2013 07:09 PM

Traci tried to answer your PM to me, but your box is full, clean out some messages please.

tracibug 03-04-2013 07:38 PM

Box is open again, my apologies. Envelopes are addressed and ready to be stuffed. You'll all be pleased with the blocks coming your way.

jclinganrey 03-06-2013 06:36 PM

My reason is two-fold (pun intended. . . ) - first, I missed Tracis' deadline and second, I don't want to run the risk of being 'black-balled' from participating in future swaps. This way, I feel I'm making amends and providing for some insurance. Besides, it makes me feel good to share something we all love.

Traci - I put my return postage inside the envelope inside the package. . . .

Looking forward to seeing everyone's wonderful blocks!

Jane

tracibug 03-06-2013 11:32 PM

Very kind of you Jane... And you sent beautiful FQs too. Waiting for the last package, tracking says tomorrow. I have a 14 shop Shop Hop so want to get these turned around so I can go have fun!!!

squires1042 03-07-2013 12:36 PM

Glad to know they made it.

I was cutting it close myself so thank you I wasn't the absolute last after all. You didn't have to do that for me but ok. Anything is fine with me. I use a lot of FQ's or ends of bolts, or pieces for the charity quilts that we do through our group.

Really excited to see what we all get back. I have some that were not quite large enough that I am going to make use of with these.

squires1042 03-07-2013 01:05 PM

Are we doing another one, or was this a one time. If we are any ideas for the next one.

tracibug 03-07-2013 04:33 PM

I am thinking of doing this one again, though may change the size and do either 8.5 or 12.5 blocks for something different, we shall see. Feel free to give me input and ideas!

mom-6 03-08-2013 06:44 AM

Thanks so much for hosting this swap! Would certainly like to do another one. It seems easier for me to come up with 12-1/2" (12" finished ) squares but that could just be because that's what I've done most of the time. It was challenging to do another size for this swap.

jclinganrey 03-09-2013 02:03 PM

Traci - - - I would like very much if you hosted another swap. While a 12" block is easy and there are a bazillion patterns (really - there are. I checked!) - how about you consider a size that would be just a bit of a challenge, ex: 8" x 12" ? Or 9" x 15"? Huh??? A rectangle. How about that??? Definitely not conventional. Just a thought - - -

Sounds like my package arrived safe and sound. Looking forward to seeing everyone else's beautiful blocks!

Jane

jaba 03-09-2013 05:55 PM

Are everyone's blocks in now? Just wondering if they all got there or not. Jclinganrey the only thing I have some concern about on your size suggestion is that you're going to leave alot of people out of the swap. There are some that are just learning and those sizes are not common enough to just look up a pattern and make them. Just my opinion.

tracibug 03-09-2013 10:31 PM

Hi ladies-

I have all of the blocks!! I took yesterday off and the last set had gone to my office so swung by and picked them up. Will get them swapped and ready to ship on Monday! Woohoo!

Gorgeous! Gorgeous! Gorgeous!!! Lovely work, everyone!!

I do believe I will request to host again, but will likely stay with either 8.5" or 12.5" as it will leave the swap open to all levels (including me)... I will certainly keep the idea of an odd shape blocks for another swap.

Thank you all for playing!!!

Elisabrat 03-11-2013 07:14 AM

I would participate if it were for good old fashioned 12.5 blocks. there are a bunch of 10" block patterns on quilterscache but so many more to chose from in the 12.5 size. I bet once the sets are posted and everyone shares their pics you will end up with more sign ups next round.

tracibug 03-11-2013 10:37 AM

I will post pics of all of the blocks soon. My phone decided I have stored enough pictures and won't let me take any more... Whatever, 2500 pictures is not TOO many!! So now I need to go buy a phone with larger storage to solve my photo hoarding problem. Could be worse... tehe

squires1042 03-11-2013 12:18 PM

12.5 I have a whole bunch of patterns collected already, we did a bunch for donation quilts in our group. If you would like ideas we could do a monthly block or random whatever anyone wants to do.

mom-6 03-11-2013 08:32 PM

Traci - does you phone have the option of an SD card for additional storage? I know my Nook does.

tracibug 03-12-2013 03:28 PM

Sadly, no... I have one of those nifty, but proprietary iPhones. Boo... They work well for some things and horrible for others.

tracibug 03-12-2013 03:33 PM

Ok... I am at least back online. The blocks went out and should be delivered at the latest (east coast) on Friday. If you don't have it by Sat, let me know and we will track them down! :-)

Thank you again, everyone, for playing... There should be an FQ from Jane and a little goodie from me.

And a special thank you to the ladies that sent me goodies, such a pleasant surprise and much appreciated.

Keep an eye out, I'll be posting for the next one soon. :)

jclinganrey 03-12-2013 04:35 PM

Good point, Jaba. So, taking that into consideration, I would vote for an 8" finished block.

Jane

mom-6 03-13-2013 05:25 AM

Traci - I also have the iPhone and can't get pictures to post with it.

jaba 03-13-2013 06:40 AM

Someone posted how to do this on the board last week and I can't find it now to pass on to you. It's another little step you have to put in. Maybe send a PM to Patrice and ask her or any moderator. They should be able to tell you hopefully, just a thought. Excited to see what is coming, have been working on some of the boom blocks so I can start getting the quilt put together. The setting strips anyway all sewed on so at least that's done.

cuppy 03-14-2013 02:25 PM

received batik blocks today. nice variety! Thank you.
