quite a variety shown in your picture, Bbemerald! I wonder why I got 4 of my own blocks ... especially when I sent in 3 sets. I am looking forward to making a special quilt now.

Nice looking blocks, I haven't gotten mine back yet so don't know the variety but will let you know and see if you're interested.
|
Everyone should have received one block from each of their sets, my apologies, I will be sure to add that to any future swap.
MaryMo- I apologize for my error, I had my DH assist me and that might have been about the time he said he didn't think I really needed help anymore. Lol if you'd like to swap another, I will pay the postage. |
I'll be using them in a lap-sized quilt where it won't matter. I'm using additional blocks that were experiments when I was making these blocks. It will be a fun quilt with lots of dandy offbeats. My comment was just a wonder, not meant to be offending.

Tracy & all - Got my blocks Weds - it was really so much fun to open the package. They were all beautiful! I ended up rushing to send mine in and completely missed the opportunity to add my real name and address and the block name, but I'll remember next time. It was fun to see the distance some of the blocks had traveled! If you host another swap, I'll definitely be in. Thanks again to everyone. Karin

Hopefully mine get here soon. Sometimes Alaska takes a few more days even with priority mail. Will let you know when I get them.
|
Got mine today and love them, thanks all of you so much and thank you Traci for hosting and for the hand cream. Also much appreciated a beautiful FQ of lavender batik. Not letting me load pics again, sorry had them all on the design wall and they were terrific but are in an album in my signature if you want to look.

Got mine yesterday thanks for the gifts love them all.

update
Now it's posting again, weird, it's sideways but you can see the beautiful blocks. Started working on them tonight and setting them with a dark gray. Will post again when I get it all together. And thank you ladies, the majority of the blocks are actually the right size, absolutely wonderful makes it so much easier to put together. That's what I get for being a lazy one, but great job and not 1 duplicate. I did get back 1 of each of my sets that I sent in, which we were suppose to, so thanks Traci http://www.quiltingboard.com/members...175-401928.JPG

Morning - I received my blocks also. Awesome, some really great blocks. Forgot we were getting one of ours back and made extras to keep. Oh well, it all works. Thanks ladies. Love the blocks.

Jaba- the wall looks great!!
Glad everyone likes their blocks. I'm debating a June or July due date for the next one (I will be moving some time in June and going back to Wi/Mn the last weekend in June) but the sets will be for 12.5" blocks, all batiks again. |
Thought I had posted that I got mine, and I'm having so much fun playing with them! Thanks for the thoughtful gifts too. And so glad you're planning to do another one. Will keep an eye out.

I received my blocks. Thanks everyone for swapping!

These were so much fun to play with I just had to drop everything I should have been doing and get busy cutting sashing and cornerstones. Have them all stitched together in the strips of 4 squares with sashing and cornerstones. Now just need to sew the strips to each other. Think I may be a good girl and get back to doing my SID on Billye's birthday quilt since her b'day was last week!

Jaba, Love your quilt. The grey is lots of fun. I'm wondering myself what color I should use to pull is all together.
Thanks for sharing. |
I liked the grey too and the outside borders are the grey and kind of blue, when I ordered the batik they called it silver. It will stretch the width of the quilting table it's an extra long king for our CA king bed. I look at it and think "what was I thinking"..alot of fabric to quilt, but I do like it and used all 48 blocks.
|
Jaba, I'm thinking of making a king. How big is your sashing? Also, how big was your border? Love the blue for the border.
|
Thanks when you get ready to do this again you can put me down for 6 sets and 6 twists if you are going to do the twist again. I am going to start working on my blocks this weekend. Already have a bunch of patterns saved for this size block.
|
Sashing is 2" and the border is 6". It's plenty long, am actually thinking of taking 1 row off but going to put it on the bed and see from there, hindsight you know. Have a cold and the sinus headache so just didn't feel like doing it today. When I get it laid out I'll try and remember to give you the size by width and length. Just remind me....
|
Jaba - that is beautiful! Your border fabric is perfect with it.
|
That is a beautiful quilt jaba...I am really starting to love the batik fabrics...Thanks for sharing! Do you do your own quilting?
|
Yes I do TamMoo, I have a long arm it's a HQ16. Don't have the computer stuff on it for all the fancy patterns but figure for another $10,000.00 I really don't need it either. Just free motion here but it works for me.
|
Just beautiful, Jaba. I see my block in there!!! Yeah!
Traci - - - count me in for the next swap. July. July. I vote for July. Jane |
going to start working on my blocks for the next exchange this weekend at my retreat. I have a whole stack of patterns that I printed off from Quilters Cache and a couple of other sites. Haven't put the ones from this swap together yet, haven't decided what I want to do with them yet.
