This is the fabric all bagged up and ready to go in tomorrows mail to everyone. Hope you like it. After bagging everything I realised I forgot to mention on my note that I have included a piece of muslim for those of you who would like to sign, add the block name or just a happy face. I would really like to make this a very memorible quilt in the name of friendship seeing as it is my first Boomerang swap.

frenchfryqueen 01-31-2013 05:37 AM

I have all the labels printed, and the fabric is laying out on my dining room table. I can't bring myself to cut it just yet. lol. I have such a hard time cutting my favorite fabrics up.

Love your flowers, quiltaddiction. I'm already brainstorming blocks for it.

urgodschild2 01-31-2013 08:42 AM

Good Morning all of you. Today is indeed a bright a wonderful day. I ran out of paper on my printer so off to the store to get some more. Oh and I think I better get some ink too. Then off to the yardage shop.. I need more material but the good news is that I might be able to mail everything by tomorrow. Yeah. I can't wait.

Hello, I have three different fabric themes ready to go. Please check this link for pictures of my first two: http://www.quiltingboard.com/member-...209908-34.html

I have to go get more envelopes this weekend but I have some packaged ready to go. I had 12 total green f8's for snowflake designs. Missgigglewings, ljdugas, lovnggrandma thanks for offerening to help with those designs. If 8 others want to do snowflakes as I mentioned in my earlier post let me know. I have butterflies addressed and ready to go for the first five on our list and will mail tomorrow. I have 9 more butterflies to go out, any one have a preference to my butterfly fabric? All others (10 or so of you) will be getting one of many different 1930's repro-style fabrics to make blocks that will hopefully be on white only background provided by yourself, for my on going Ode to the 1930's style quilt.

So if you have a preference, just send me a message. Sorry, to the first 5 on the list, I made the choice for you :)

Mine are in all the mail now so maybe a week or so before they arrive in USA Canada or England.

frenchfryqueen 02-01-2013 05:39 AM

Well crap. I started cutting my beautiful paisley print last night, and I realized I only have about 1/3 of what I need-- apparently I was asleep when I measured the first time.

So my choices are: use a white fabric with tiny red flowers that I have plenty of but don't really like (part of a yard sale bundle), or break my fabric moratorium and go buy some new tonight. Grrr!

My honest recommendation is never use something you don't really like. If you can afford to buy something I think this would be the time to make the exception to the moratorium...JMHO :)

Good morning, group! This is my first boomerang and I'm glad to know I'm not the only new person. I've done (and am in the midst of doing) some other swaps on this board which have been great fun.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Jane

PS I have mailed one F8 for this group LOL

paperpieceme 02-01-2013 10:25 AM

all of my fabric went in the mail yesterday from Belleville WI. met a nice postal worker who also quilts. explained what we were doing to her, and talked quilting for a few minutes

urgodschild2 02-01-2013 10:59 AM

Ok I just returned from walking over to my post office. I am fortunate because it is only 1/2 a block away. I am in every group so I am going to post this on each group so that I do not have to type it again. Everyone's F8 has been mailed. WHEW!!!!! Being in all 5 groups you can imagine the price I paid. Of course I also had to get 100 forever stamps and 200 20c stamps. One of those 100 20cents is for a member in the Pacific group who can't get to the post office. Ok I will share what I learned. All my envelope cost exactly one forever stamp. So if your end tells you different let me know. Now for the people who are in more then one group.....I put yours in a 5 X 7 envelop. Guess what....that is considered pkg. price and so it cost more then if I just put them in separate office envelops and mailed them. Go figure. So When I return your grown up block...those in several groups will get several envelops. I want you all to know that so that you mail yours just in the office envelop as it will be cheaper. Of course those overseas always will cost more. LOL. I was surprised that my office envelopes were just the forever stamp, but then this is the first time I wrapped them in saran wrap and squished them down as tight as possible.
I am now looking forward to getting F8 to start making blocks. Let the fun begin.

quiltingmommy 02-01-2013 01:49 PM

Frenchfryqueen:
I think you should use the white w/red flowers, even if it is not a favorite. Not only will it save you money in the long run, but you will get rid of it! White with red flowers, a solid black fabric would go great with it; the black design would pop out and you will forget all about not liking the fabric to begin with.

frenchfryqueen 02-01-2013 03:03 PM

Jaba- I received your fabric tonight. LOVE IT!

jaba 02-01-2013 03:24 PM

Glad you like it, thanks for letting me know. I haven't gotten any yet....

Nelco 02-01-2013 03:30 PM

Jaba..got my f8 today.Thanks..Hope to have all mine in the mail next week.

Okay, so I have to ask. A few of my pieces I cut wrong. Would anyone feel cheated if they received 10x18" fabric rather than a true fat eighth? I of course don't have enough fabric to recut them. I can sent a little extra, like a small square, if need be. Sorry! I don't want anyone to feel cheated, and I don't want to get a bad rap on my first swap and not be invited back. :S I always try to be a good, fair person, and I definitely wouldn't short someone intentionally.

This is the fabric I used-- keeping the fabric moratorium in place. :)

jaba 02-01-2013 04:29 PM

frenchfryqueen, I wouldn't feel cheated, lordy lady it's your fabric. The only thing it "might" restrict is certain blocks because of the size. I know I can find something that hopefully you will be happy with so you can certainly send me a smaller one. No problem at all

ctmhjenn 02-01-2013 05:22 PM

What size f8 to most of you prefer? Long and narrow, or the shorter fatter...couldn't think of any other words...lol

urgodschild2 02-01-2013 05:36 PM

I like the 11 X 18 because I have more choices to choose for patterns.
Frenchfryqueen.....i can work with yours with no problem. So you can send me one.

today was a bonanza squishy day. lot so them. From this group I received Jaba's.

jaba 02-01-2013 06:14 PM

11 X 18 also here, but no problem for frenchfryqueen...make it work

All of my f8's for this group and one side swap went out today! But, sad news...my machine just went into the shop! Ugh!!! she's only a yr old :( Hopefully she will be good as new when I get her back in 2, count them, TWO weeks! OMG! Do they not know the withdrawals I will go through for 2 weeks!!!!!!
At least the dog will be happy with my full attention for 2 WEEKS!!!!

ctmhjenn 02-02-2013 06:30 PM

Wow, you gals don't waste time, I am now cutting fabric or at least cut one strip, but have gone to a baby shower, and a memorial service all in one day. My daughter is due the first of March, and I have made a quilt, receiving blankets, burp cloths, a valance and finishing up crib sheets, plus shopped with her I swear, for days!!!! I think she is ready. So, I will get started..I have received from:
"Jab" and from Brodhead, WI. my list is downstairs so don't have her screen name. Not putting names on the site but the screen name from last Boom... I have numbered your envelopes appropriately, one and two so I know where to start. Tomorrow being Super Bowl, two shops in Spokane put on big parties for us quilters, makes for long lines, but worth the 25% off...I haven't gone for years but think I will get there tomorrow.

urgodschild2 02-02-2013 06:47 PM

I got a squishie from Paperpieceme today.

LovingIzabella 02-02-2013 06:53 PM

Big crud!! I forgot to put Birmingham on Sazu's address so I think (and hope) that it will come back to me if they can't deliver it...ugh!! Blaming it on the migraine lolol yeah thats it!

ctmhjenn 02-02-2013 06:55 PM

Ok, what happened to your sewing machine missy lambing? We're you racing and hit a road block??? I hope they will get it back to you soon. I hate when my machine causes a problem, but I have a couple other machines I can use....hope it is ok, but I know we all love new machines..teehee!
