Just want to remind EVERYONE that this is a 4 month swap. Set your own pace. The deadline is set, and I hope everyone is able to complete the blocks on time....within the 4 MONTH time frame. Don't feel pressured by postings that hint that we are not fast enough. You know what you time obligations are for all of you life commitments. Don't let others in this group push you!

Alikat, I hope you didn't think I was pushing people I would like to think of it as ENCOURAGEMENT and yes people are late in these swaps all the time and so encouragement to work on them and not wait is not a bad thing. The deadline is indeed just that a deadline not a guideline hope you finish in time but oh well if you don't. Sorry if I offended you with my talk.

Gaijin, I used to come home and take a five hour nap. I am pretty tired all the time but a short nap is all I allow myself. I could never get things done if I slept all day three days a week. yikes! I think its the fact they cycle your blood out of your body for hours on end to clean it that wear you out so much. I am always freezing in dialysis but lucky for me they have warm blankets they give us and when they get cold you get another one and boy does that help :)

Today is devoted to a few blocks from here. I wonder whose will be first???

I am an advocate for encouraging members. Commincating this should be worded in an encouraging way. Statements like ...."those that delay" completing the blocks implies intentionally not completing them. I juat think the wording could be tweaked.

Sorry I have been MIA I was in Ottawa for a work conference and boy was it amazing all around!
I also came home to find out the information on hubby is not good :( We go on Wednesday for him to get 12 shots in his spine. If that doesn't help they are going to go in and burn the nerve endings and if all else fails he is looking at a double fusion :(
I hope you are all doing well. Encouragement is always a good thing but it is also important to not make anyone feel like they have to have their blocks done in two weeks :) I know we all get excited but remember the fun and friendship we make through this swap :D

ok I am about done chatting in the group which might be marvelous. There was a specific member in one of my last groups who stated I AM STARTING THIS AFTER THANKSGIVING giving themselves a week or so to finish. Tell me waiting 3.5 months is smart? that was on purpose hence purposely delaying it due to other commitments in life. In the end she was a month late on sending all her blocks out. So I am not making stuff up, I am encouraging I believe and sometimes people need to not just 'fluff' it all over and be real. So with that said I will mail your blocks back to all of you as I complete them and wish you a wonderful swap. I am sure it will all will go as planned.

I received the f8's in this order and will make and return in this order. I plan to starting making them in the beginning of August. I have a few projects to finish first.
I'm still debating on my fabric, do I want to buy new fabric or use from my stash. I so hate to use from my stash, then I don't have an excuse to go fabric shopping. LOL!!! I'm going throught withdraw from shopping. I will probably go shopping tomorrow mid morning and mail out all my fabric on Friday, if not for sure on Monday. Work and life gets in the way of my quilting.

I sent out another 4 blocks this morning. Unfortunately, I can't remember who they were to and I'm at work without my spreadsheet. I try to make one block a night and catch up on the weekend if I miss one.

My GD joined in the Boom 10 swap, which, in the beginning I thought it was a good idea. She's a definite beginner. So I'm "helping" her with her blocks too. Last night I found out that she does much better with paper patterns. So for the time being I'm going to be making patterns for all her blocks she needs. She's going to end up with 4 1/2 blocks, 3 1/2 blocks, etc. I need to get her a shoe box for her patterns.

I also found that simple paper piecing patterns are good for beginners. My grown up daughter wanted to learn quilting and all she had to do was to sew on the line and not worry about stitching straight seams. Judy

azkat: I live with moretimers now. ask me something that happened a few years ago or months ago? no problem! ask me what I did with the envelope that was in my hand two seconds ago.. blank. you are NOT alone. for those who don't know what sometimers is its when you remember sometimes and sometimes you dont. then comes moretimers and it does not get pretty after that. so STOP at sometimers. it has its benefits ..sometimes :)

When you receive a block, would everyone please post it on this thread so we all can ooohhh and aaahhh at it. Personally I hate having to go to everyones albums (unless I want to peak what they are making)

So I have the wonderful paper piecing pattern. I actually measured it when it came off the copier to make sure it was 12.5". Took forever to get it done, what with the frog sticth I had to do all the time. And tada it was amazing. It was alos only 12". Maybe my 12.5 ruler shrunk? Have enough on the material to do another block. Oh bother......

once again its not allowing me to post pictures. I do have them all in my album which I hope you stop by and check them out. The blocks are very beautiful and its such a treat to open them up and see what has been sent. some I have never seen before. Love it! Think I will be going to Jaba's today to sew while the men cut firewood. I know we got the better end of that deal :) its going to be hot high 80's. too hot to be cutting wood for sure.

Received a block from brat today. I'll take a picture of it when I can find it again! I packed it in a box already!

Sitting in hotel on the coast this week...no quilting. Mom says I've gotten a bunch of envelopes (she does not call them squishes). I don't go home till late Sunday, so will update sometime next week!

(check out the water - it is a batick with fish in it:))And dahna's is just awesome - I wasn't aware that so many had nautical fabric in their stash!!
