Block going home to Bluelady tomorrow. 7 more to go then Im done with both groups :( Has anyone ever heard of a group/swap where you send an F8 AND the block you want made then the swapper adds a fabric and sends it back? Im thinking I would like to make a quilt using the same block, but with different secondary fabrics but one main fabric? Any suggestions you guys who have been in ALL these swaps and are experts?? LOL

I wish I had this welcoming committee at my back door. So good of you to watch over them. One from AnneMixon and one from AHWU yay.

Momma and babies! I ended up in the same position when I had the farm in Ohio. Fix them quick.

My DD came down from WI for the weekend and went home with a newly sewn sample quilt . . . because I wouldn't give her mine from Boom 9. She liked the boom idea so much, she joined the board and asked people to side swap with her . . . and went home and got her MIL involved.

Needles to say, I am behind on my boom blocks because I couldn't get to my sewing machines (yes, machines. Her DD was sewing her own boom blocks).

If everything goes well (like the well not giving out and my having to buy water tubs and have water delivered (that's what I did yesterday) I'll be able to get caught up. I sent them both back to WI Sunday night and have 9 whole days of not having to share a machine or help anyone with blocks.

Hooray! I have f8 s from everyone, sent back 9, received 2. Dotty

Got two finished blocks from Sunrise450 today, one for fast group and one for slow group! Thank you, both are very nice...wish I knew which was going to which grandchild! LOL Have to wait till I get them all back and see which is more girly or boyish.

Okay everyone I need some help! I am new to quilting, and my machine is good for piecing, but I cannot do any machine quilting on it because the feed dogs do not drop. My birthday is coming up and I want to get a new machine that I can do more with and has more options. What do you guys reccommend around the $300 range? The Quantum 9960 was recommended to me at a cost of 369.00 but I found it on Amazon for 231.00. I watched a video about it and it seemed like a good machine, but since you guys have more experience I wanted to know what your thoughts were. All help and comments welcome!!!

I find it easier to do FMQ by turning the stitch length to zero and NOT dropping the feed dogs. Check out Leah Days Free Motion Quilting Project. http://freemotionquilting.blogspot.com/ Thats where I discovered the easy way of FMQ.

Hey! I noticed that the patriotic block I made for you is upside down. Or the picture is upside down? Sometimes my camera does that when I post pictures. I tried to make it look like the USA flag with the blue and white stars in the left top corner. I guess this was not as obvious as I had hoped:(

I do not know the name of it, but I love it too! It is going to look so cool in the quilt.

I don't know the name either. I was trying to avoid 8 pieces of fabric meet at the center. I drafted it out on the tracing paper. Basically the block has four sections and 1" sashing in the middle. I like how it turned out but I did make some mistake cutting the fabric - cut the sashing too short. Thankfully Ann can work with it.

I love the oranges in that block Ahwu! I admit I don't have many orange fabrics in my stash!
