Morning- I have started sending out my finished blocks. Sent to Japan and Australia. Have fun ladies. I have some to send out of my fabrics and will get that done today. Then will be sending out more finished blocks.

Has anyone heard how April is? Only 7 more days till the deadline for receiving blocks and Im still missing 5....seems everyone else is missing the same ones...does anyone have an update from the ones missing? Ive never had this many still not received this late...sure do miss Aprils intervention!! :)

Update.
All my blocks that I need to send out are completed! A couple are in the mail tomorrow, then Done!!
I have not received blocks from AnneMixon, AtPegsQuiltStudio, cuppy, KarenO and oldcatlady. There still is time though! And I will accept my blocks late if need be.
I see in post up above that atpegsquiltstudio is hurrying to the finish line!! Yay Margaret! :)

I will be outa town all next week, so I won't be able to see my incoming blocks until after the 1st. I am heading to Nashville for work. Any excellent quilt shops there that I must see? A friend and I are heading up to Paducah after our meeting to spend a whole day up there too!

Yes I know I have been MIA :( Thank you Melinda for trying to help anyone who needed it and thanks for the updates to the groups.
I ended up with a massive infection in my shunt which almost caused me to loose my eyesight in my right eye. I was taken by ambulance to my local ER on October 5 and then transported out to my neurosurgeon in CT. I spent a week in ICU on very high dose antibiotics. They removed my old VP shunt on a Wednesday once I had been on the antibiotics for 3 days and then put a new one in on Friday with anti-microbial tubing so hopefully this does not happen again. I just returned to work on the 24th. I have some pain still from the tubing as it is larger than the normal tubing and it takes some getting used to :) Thankfully though my neurosurgeon saved my eyesight by putting in an LP drain bedside and draining the infected CSF and relieving the increased pressure on my optic nerves. I am headache free now and I can see. My right eye is still a little weak but it is getting there :)
Due to some rows I am unable to locate from a row robin I was in (I put them up for Hurricane Sandy and then had 5 brain surgeries so I can't get through all of the containers :( ) I have been informed I am no longer allowed to host swaps so sadly this will be the last Boomerang swap unless someone wants to host it until I am able to find the rows and get them home to their rightful owner (which I will do :) ). If anyone wants to please let me know, I hate to see this swap end because of my shortfalls.
Also please remember deadline is coming up soon, hopefully you are all almost done and happy :)

April, Im so sorry to hear about your medical problems lately. I HATE to hear that you cant do the swap anymore! I know its a LOT of work and headache but you were so darn good at organizing it!! I wouldnt have any idea how to host the swap but if someone wants to volunteer I will help with the spread sheet if they need help typing it. PLEASE find your blocks quickly so you can get back to joining in the swap!! This is number 7 or 8 for me and it really brings enjoyment to me to see what others create and send back! DO NOT drop out of the picture April, keep in touch thru the board please!!!

Hi everyone, I know that I am behind on my blocks and will be sewing up a storm this weekend to catch up. Thank you to everyone who has sent theirs to me so far. My quilt will be beautiful. Will send updates on what is done over the weekend and who I still need to send. April - glad to hear that you are feeling better, but sorry you had to go through all those medical difficulties. I am not organized enough to take over, but if someone needs help I would be glad to give a hand. Please let me know. This is my first swap and am enjoying it very much. Would hate to see it end. April, I am so sorry to hear of your difficulties. This has been my first boomerang swap and I have enjoyed it so much! I used to hostess swaps when aol had a quilt board but that was years ago and I just don't think I can do it anymore. Spread sheet? I had a tablet where I wrote everyone's name, address and such. Every thing was sent to me then I swapped them out. Hopefully it won't be too long and you will be able to host again.
I think the first thing on your agenda is to get well. Before you know it all this will be behind you and you can hostess again if that is what you want to do.

Thought I'd show all of you what I have decided to do with the little scraps of fabric left over from your blocks. I have them from the last 3 booms, so will be making a few of these. Haven't decided on the inner circle yet, just been putting the dresdans together. Your little pieces are being used and will be a nice memory.

I know that we still a have few days left in this swap - I am not trying to be pushy :) ... my records show I'm still missing blocks from: AnneMixon, atpegsquiltstudio, cuppy (the post I saw #320 said blocks were being sent the week of Oct. 14-21, I think), and oldcatlady. So I'm wondering if I have messed up on my records. Does anyone have updates? Thanks so much!

No updates that I know of. Im still missing 5 and only a week to go before mailing deadline? I don't think its being pushy...just reasonable to expect updates :) The fast group went so smooth....the slow group has the most still remaining unreceived in all the swaps Ive been in...must have been a busy summer!

I just received this lovely block from Cuppy, Thank you so much. I really appreciated the exercize sheet she sent along for a bad back. After 2 weeks of very little movement I can finally sit at the computer and sewing machine. Can't stand or walk for very long yet but I keep trying.
I still haven't received blocks from AnneMixon, atpegsquiltstudio, and Sunrise450.

The NEXT Boom
 

As many of you know, our fearless Boomerang Friendship Swap leader April is stepping back from swaps for the foreseeable future. We’ve been in contact over the last several weeks culminating in a phone call and final decision yesterday. April isn’t leaving the board, (you can see she’s still here finishing up Boom 10!) she’s simply stepping back for now and she’s turned the Boom reins over to me. I’m going to lead Boom 11 in her stead and I hope to do her hard work justice. Boom 10 folks, I want to let you know that I’m not hijacking her program, just running it in her place, with her permission, and that of the Board. I participated in Boom 10 in the Maia group and had a great experience. I knew instantly following April’s announcement here that it would be a shame to let the Booms die. It wasn’t going to happen, not if I could help, so I approached her and here we are.
April’s been at this for about 4 years and has her system down to a science. I see no need for changes so we’re not going to mess with it. Sign-ups will begin sometime late next week; please be on the lookout for the post. We’ll have Fast and Slow groups, running 2 months and 4 months respectively. Also, although the last couple of swaps have been only Small groups of 16 or so, I’ll open it up to the option of Large groups as well if there is enough interest. All skill levels are welcome. Sign-ups will run about 3 weeks or so, depending upon interest. (If you have concerns about starting a Boom at this time of year, you might want to consider doing a Slow group to allow yourself plenty of time.) It will take me several days to make sure I’ve got everything in order and then I’ll post the groups and off we’ll go.
I do plan to be very active and on top of the day to day goings on. If you have any questions, I’ll often be able to answer them the same day but please allow me 48 hours, especially over the weekends. I want to assure everyone that I’ll do the best I can to make Boom 11 run as seamlessly as possible and to be enjoyable for all.
It’s time to start thinking about your fabric choices, as if many of you haven’t for weeks! Be looking for the sign-up post toward the end of next week. As usual, the details will be in there. Thanks everyone!

Grandma DI, Would you check your records please? My records show that I mailed you your block on 8/31. I looked through the left over scraps from this swap and found the scraps from making your block. Unfortunatly I wasn't taking pictures of finished blocks then, didn't know how to. I take them now with my iPad, that is the only way I seem to be able to post pictures on this board!
