dear Lord I hope she grew them in her garden.. I was trying to picture them growing on the kitchen window sill and suddenly that was one big window. i know I know, those are trick quarters. Like doll house sized right? like in those old fashioned post cards where dogs look like dinasaurs? yeah, trick tatters.. or trick bucks which are the only kind I have right now.. hey where did you goooo??

quiltermomma you cant fool me, you just want that candy and figure if I tossed in that mutt you would get your candy faster. ok. ok to faster candy... you did want me to eat it for you right?

TwinRiverFarm 08-17-2012 04:28 AM

My fabric is ready to go, and I am laughing so hard I can't thread my sewing machine (ok, that is hard for me to do even when not laughing) Moonwork - my fabric has ladybugs on a black background! Some unlucky person is getting 7 5' by 5' charms of it though, as the length of the piece was short.
Judging by the number of projects Quiltermomma has going right now, how about sending her some caffeine, too? But Elizabrat honey, you stay away from that, ok? Oh wait... then I won't get to laugh so hard....

jaba 08-17-2012 06:37 AM

No trick on those spuds, honest. They are truly that big. And the green peppers. Lots of large tomatoes, just waiting for those, all still green and fried green tomatoes just isn't my thing. Our garden is all natural which I love, no sprays for bugs etc. Hubby is a fanatic at it. This year we used fish emulsion to fertilize about a month ago. I was floored when he brought those spuds in the kitchen last night. Wanted to make curly fries but they won't fit in the machine. He says this week end they're all going to be dug. Both of my sons are coming home next week-end for a 4 day mini trip so can ship some off with them to Denver, CO and Bellingham, WA.

Elisabrat 08-17-2012 06:55 AM

And CA, dont forget CA.. I so wish I could eat a potato. Its off the list too much potasium.. sure miss those. oh heck send one it would make a GREAT conversation piece and I know my sons could inhale that. Wouldnt have to make anything to go with it. oh oh feed a family of four Latkes.. yum on one potato!! um.. curly fries ? machines? they have a machine to cut your fries? wow. where have I been? (at the chopping board, peeling, slicing, cutting, cubing but never ever curling) I think it would take several batches for your one monster potato. Take it to the fair. That is fair material. Oh forgot your sending me one!
think you can use a little less fish emulsion next year.. that or start selling them at your own fruit/veggie stand. big bucks for the tourist attraction. Curiosity, do you live on a farm/ranch? in the country? must have great soil..

QuilterMomma 08-17-2012 07:28 AM

Nope, I love Butterfinger Candy bars, they have that yummy milk chocolate on the outside with a special surprise on the inside, just like the Caramellos or Rolos. Ohh Ohh Ohh, another one I really love is the Skor bar. Toffee in the center of that one. See, then each of our blocks will have the special surprise because we know what the outside is (our fabric) then the surprise when it comes back home.

Fair time is over here, had not a clue what was waiting for us underground, or I probably would have.:DHe said he didn't even mix it to the strength your suppose to. That stuff works, 1 cup to 10 gal. There's a guy here that does all organic hay, oats etc. and feeds cattle so he can sell the beef that way. Gets high dollar per pound for that cow, but I bought some "fish" from him. We live in a very little speck on the map town, between 2 larger ones. Ralston is a big population of 105 people but we absolutely love it. I don't know acre or not but our house and shop are on land that is about 9 city lots. Not alot for around here, but plenty for us to take care of. The soil is mostly sand, nice for growing but sure sucks up the water. Oh well, what do you do to have the quiet life. And yup! many years ago in my buy every new kitchen gadget they came out with stage, low and behold an electric curly fry machine. Had to have it and still use it alot, specially when kids come home and grandkids, they love 'em! Thank heaven for our big commercial fryer, it'll be used next weekend for sure.

QuilterMomma 08-17-2012 07:37 AM

Would love to be visiting for those curly fries homemade. Oh darn!

jaba 08-17-2012 07:40 AM

We'll make some when you get here!!

moonwork42029 08-17-2012 07:52 AM

jaba...my youngest son and his wife live in Granger...wow, you are way way way north of there though.

Your garden is outstanding! Our lack of water here just killed about everything....no bluegrass in this part of Kentucky -- renamed browngrass I think.

stitchingpost 08-17-2012 09:26 AM

So is the list out yet lol

QuilterMomma 08-17-2012 09:27 AM

This is a toe tapping time for some of you.

LovingIzabella 08-17-2012 09:52 AM

This is when I get to TORTURE all of you instead of the other way around LOLOLOL The lists should be out this evening.

cuppy 08-17-2012 09:55 AM

Ok I will be getting envelopes and fabric today, so I can get it cut this weekend. I will need 2yds for F8 and an extra 2 yds for borders . I do like to use the same fabric for all the blocks. I will probably choose a Christmas fabric. I have a feeling I will be receiving a spreadsheet by email real soon. Favorite candy Banana laffy taffy.. no garden this year...DH is planting me a mango tree , I love mangos. Greetings from the Florida Gulf Coast.

QuilterMomma 08-17-2012 10:33 AM

Glad I am in no hurry right now. I am not being tortured at all. But I certainly hope you are having a great time lovingisabella. How buggy eye are you on our names and speadsheets?

Fraew 08-17-2012 01:09 PM

No rush here! I am suffering from changed my minditis...and changed to what? Who knows.

So take thy time, triple check the lists, decide on fabulous names and feel free to gimme another week. :)

wanda lou 08-17-2012 01:10 PM

Can't wait all packaged and ready to mail.

wanda lou 08-17-2012 01:11 PM

Fraew I feel for ya, I have had changedminditis, it tough.

jacquie 08-17-2012 01:24 PM

my fabric is all washed, ironed, cut, in bags with their letters, labelled in envelopes and waiting for addresses!!

no pressure now!!!

:D :D :D :D :D

QuilterMomma 08-17-2012 03:15 PM

By accident today, I can now print all my envelopes at the office on the copier. It does envelopes! I don't even have to do labels and attach. Now to figure out how to do my mail merge into envelopes and letters so I can really look fancy. I used to do this when i was in the legal field, not sure if can figure out with new software. There is a project while I wait for the info to apply it.

missgigglewings 08-17-2012 03:53 PM

Take your time April...I wrapped my F8s, put them in envelopes and sent them all to you! Please forward!

Anastasia 08-17-2012 04:44 PM

Ok.. not serious about t he puppies unless it's a show quality bullmastiff from this breeder I'm looking at cause I wanna show and compete again. In which case, maybe you can pass the home check for me? pwweeasee? I don't has a fence :( but puppy is on hold until my current monster child passes on. He spent 8 years of his life under the tyranny of his mother, he deserves to be an only child for however much longer he's here. But it's dang hard to resist since the litter of the parents I adore will be on the ground in september. I must refrain from actually going to see them or one will come home in my pocket for sure. But am totally serious on all candy and fabric :D

LovingIzabella 08-17-2012 04:50 PM

Okay hubby said if I get the washroom organized into different piles he will do it...so I am going to go organize the laundry room while it is cool in there and then be back and get the lists out ;)
Hugs
April

Elisabrat 08-17-2012 05:04 PM

as in.. do the wash? lol.. first you get to sort it? at that point well might as well toss it in too..MEN.

Anastasia your going to have to steal it back from Quiltermomma. And banana laffy taffy OMG havent seen that since I was a kid. think it was one of the nickle candies.. remember when you got more than one thing for a quarter at the local pharmacy.. we used to spend half an hour deciding which to pick.. banana always was a must for me. oh, who remembers those peanut flavored taffys that you got at halloween, those were so good. black or orange wrappers. Havent seen those in years either :( my teeth thank me.
bull mastiff puppies? yipes, you need big scoopers for those too! you and april could intimidate the neighborhood should you go for walks together.. the people would cross the street when they saw you and your horses.

LovingIzabella 08-17-2012 05:18 PM

Linda,
He has no idea what he is in for....I won't tell you how much laundry is in the laundry room LOL (He forgot the bedding, towels, my fabrics :D )
Yes we have parted the seas so to speak when walking with Spotzzz. She actually slipped away from me one day and ended up on the neighbors front step. There was a young kid visiting and he had no idea she is friendly as could be. The kid who lived there said come on we have to go and the kid inside was like "Do you see that thing on the steps? It's going to EAT ME!!" I was dying laughing...the poor dog was shaking and the kid was scared (he was about 17 or so)

Anyway I got the laundry half way done so Ill finish the rest later. I want to get the lists going so I will keep you all updated...separating in to groups now.

Hugs
April

Anastasia 08-17-2012 05:53 PM

hehe I already have rottweilers, the bullmastiff (when bred correctly) is only about the same size. And yes.. I have big scoopers.. hahaha.

Well.. I got 8 different fabrics.. cause most of my "stash" was inherited or pilfered from my mom's stash o'scraps so it was hard to get the colors I wanted in a scrap big enough to meet requirements. Some are a little.. not quite exactly perfectly square and measured but should meet the requirement. I pissed off my foodsaver. I guess it doesn't like sealing 30 things in rapid succession. It needed a break. but I figured I have a ton of the darned rolls of foodsaver bags, might as well use them. They're more durable than a ziplock. No mail eater will get through that stuff, my kitchen scissors barely like to get through it. Now to find some envelopes that it'll fit in and not cost me an arm and a leg. Those of you who get these from me, feel free to stuff my blocks back in them and just tape them shut. :)

marytoddliz 08-17-2012 06:40 PM

OK you can't get mad at me if there is chocolate stains all over your fabric! I think if we were named after candy bars I would have to eat one every time I made a block, and since I am in two groups, that is a lot of chocolate bars!

I love Baby Ruth bars the best! I have someone in my family waiting for me at the finish line with a big Baby Ruth Bar! Pretty bad that I have to run 26.2 miles to get a darn candy bar!

OK I am finishing up my letter, I think I will get them in the mail on Monday, The poor girl who works the post office for 2 hours on Sat would fall apart if I too her 50 squishes.

urgodschild2 08-17-2012 07:00 PM

the list? the List???? Where oh where is the list??????? I keep looking and I no find. LOL.

Elisabrat 08-17-2012 07:08 PM

FIFTY YOU HAVE FIFTY? flopping on floor, wait maybe I am joining you! secrets secrets secrets.. even from me my mind is a mysterious thing

they call those dogs gentle giants don't they? my hubby wanted one but I know who would get the lions share of the fun work so.. kitties it is. I would love a golden doodle however.. omg such cuties! probably not incredibly smart but sweet is good. I will eat your candy too Marybeth. Right now I need the extra just in case I get sick again. Besides, I need.. a chest. oops hope that was ok. Lost my body fat and with it well.. you know how that goes. How can I be a good babuska if I have bony bones poking out.. kids will get hurt just laying on me so see guys why i should eat all your candy? (um what else can I throw in there) um the local dentist needs to travel to Belize this summer and is short of work? beeyooodeee oh ohhhh send me your candies. DRATS, forgot, I don't do chocolate much. Ok Jelly Bellies tht is what we need to be called. Jelly Belly's (spell check). I love those. Put me in that group and I will eat them all day long and not mess up a single block.

Lol!!! I thought I was the only one who kept checking for it!!!

Anastasia 08-17-2012 07:17 PM

Goldendoodles (any other doodles).. no not bright, but definitely hyper.. and a groomers NIGHTMARE.. ask me how I know.. ask me why I had to quit grooming.. oh just the repetitive motion injuries in my shoulder and elbow and my back killing me from my 8 regular (every 6 weeks) goldendoodles. ... god I hate those things. one came to me.. realized how aammaaaziinngg I am. Told the ENTIRE Golden/goldendoodle rescue about me.. and poof.. goldendoodles coming out my ears. Yargh. If you dont' want poop duty, you don't want goldendoodle brushing duty either. trust me. I'd take scooping poop any day over that.

I could get on board with the eating a candybar per block idea
