Ladies I have some questions. I have my F8's ready, 2 different prints that coordinate, I will send one print to 20 people and the other print to 20 people. I also have 2 more fabrics that coordinate with the F8 I am sending. Do you think it would be ok for me to send 2 F8's to each person so they have 2 coodinating fabrics to work with? Or would that be against the rules. I would be happy to add money for the extra postage so they can send the extra back in case I need to make more blocks. Does this make sense? If it would be a bad ting to do, I will just send 1 F8 to each person. I will try to upload a pic of the four fabrics. Sorry, I still can't upload pictures. I even made them smaller.

Linda58, I wouldn't be upset if you sent 2 F8's for me to use. That would actually make life a little easier for me, to be honest.

I know I wouldn't mind and last swap I had a member send me 2 fat eights - maybe send your team mates a PM and ask them how they feel about it ?

Linda only send them if you wish to it is NOT necessary though. Part of the great thing about this swap is getting blocks back using fabric you may not have thought to use but it ends up spectacular :)

Hi everyone I have got some fat 8ths in the mail this week but I will post tomorrow who from,. I have a regular customer who called this week and asked me to quilt a quilt for her on a rush,,come to find out she only has about 2 months to live and wanted to give the quilt to her sister while she is here visiting. I get home from work at 630pm and then have been quilting a few rows before heading to bed so havent had time to do much else. My fat eighths will go in the mail on Monday.

Hi everyone recieved 8 more today, but just a gentle reminder, no matter what the PO says they do cost a 65 cent stamp to send, I already owe the PO for 3 peoples postage. I am not mad but please put a 65 cent stamp on the envelopes.

I sent my husband to mail mine (first mistake...) , and the postman weighed them, made sure they slipped through the measuring slot and charged me regular postage for the first time...made me wonder. So hopefully mine will not arrive postage due!

No problem sofar and they come with all kinds of postage and fluffyness. Hope my luck doesn't run out.

the majority of F8's I have received in the Boom swaps have come to me w/ .45 stamp and have never had to pay any postage. I think it has to do w/ the receiving PO, which just makes me mad. If the mailing PO said it was OK w/ a .45 stamp what right do they have to disagree with them and make you pay more. It should be up to the PO that is mailing it. Does that make sense to anyone else or is it just me and my twisted logic?

When I used to sell on eBay, I'd look up the price online first, and when I'd take the package to the post office, I'd try to get a specific clerk ... one who knew what she was doing. The others would try to overcharge nearly every time. It was worse on international packages than domestic ones. Sometimes I'd have to print out the USPS website's quote as proof, and even then, they'd fuss about it even though I had the quote right there in black-and-white. So frustrating! I'm glad the postage can be printed online now, if I need to ship a package. :) |
I can almost guarantee if you send to me with 45 postage I will have to pay the other 20 cents. it bites but it is what it is. I usually just absorb it, for 20 cents! It is crazy.
So if you send me a Squishy, try to remember 65 cents no matter what the PO you are sending from says! Out of all the mail I have received in the past few days only 2 got by with a 45 cent stamp. But luckily most are putting the extra postage. This boom seems to be really fast. I have already received 4 completed blocks back, Awesome! |
I recieved a bunch of squishies this week. My plan was to make them as they arrive...not happening. I still don't have my fabric ready, but will this week get it in the mail. Here is the ones I have received so far.

Could it be put in the "rules" when signing up that you must put 65 cents postage on it? Just a thought.

Now I'm going to worry. I had my envelopes weighed and hand cancelled....the clerk had me put .45¢ on all but two and those went to Canda for .85¢. If anyone has to pay extra, please accept my apologies and let me know. I will make sure the block sent back will have plenty of postage......

If any of mine arrive with postage due, despite the postage rate given by my post office, let me know and I'll be glad to reimburse you.
By the way, mail with postage due can be declined, and it'll be returned to the sender for correct postage. Just thought I'd mention it, in case paying the additional amount causes a hardship for anyone. So far all the envelopes I've received have been fine. :) Last time there were quite a few that arrived with postage due, but I went ahead and paid them. I couldn't wait to see my blocks! LOL! :D |

I had mine weighed and they only charged reg postage but if by chance they try to charge you more just let me know and when I send your block back I will include the extra postage they charged you..I have received 18 and only 2 had more then regular postage..hope you don't get too stuck

out of the last 3 booms I have never had to pay more postage for anyones I received. I do know that every PO is different. If anyone has to pay more for mine please let me know. I will reimburse you as well.

I know my problem with postage is our post office, I would never refuse a squishy, because I am also too excited to get them.. And 20 cents is not a hardship, it is more of an irritation. So far 3 Squishies have managed to get past the postal workers, but all the rest, if they put the regular stamp, they catch it.... ah such is life living in the Mountains where they make up their own rules, or maybe it is just to show some kind of superiority.
But honestly don't worry about it, and don't make it a rule, because why pay more if it is only a few places that get nutty! It is almost a game to them to see how many they can catch, last time I had to pay I had a pocket full of pennies, So if they want to play I can add my spin to the game. Marybeth |
I have received 9 from the Pearls group so far... ljdugas, marytoddliz, goldendog, ssnare, jahaper, dotcomdtcm, yayaquilts, ok darla, and bibliostone I haven't started making them yet, had the grandbabies for the weekend. I will start this week. I usually do, first come, first served. I put 65cents on postage.

Wow it cost 1.10 to canada from KY,and ijust put 2 stamps on and it cover it,it was ,65cents but just stuck 2 ,,47cent stamps on,i am sure thw finish blk will wight more do u all think ,,all fabric wiegh diff
