My fabric is washed, ironed and ready to go

nygal, I used greeting card envelopes and the post office said I would have to pay it as a small package. I also found that different post offices charge differently for the same size envelope.
|
I didn't see my name on the list  Oh please tell me I made the cut off for a small group :D

See what happens when I wait on go? I had ALL my fabric bagged, ready to go out that door and then thought well since you love only part of it, why not use one you REALLY love and there I was cutting fabric Again at almost midnite and restuffing the envelopes. Gosh I hope the 15th comes SOON (grin) I may end up with a room full of F8ths if I am not careful. Already ready for the NEXT swap with my precuts .. not anxious to start nope not me.. heck finishing my DQ for the Sept swap today. Its not even officially posted yet the sign ups and I am ..an official quilt addict. Coming out of the sewing room today and telling you all. Worse yet I refuse to break the habit. La la la, I can't hear you..

Linda, you are a nut, But a fun nut! I am curious as to what fabric you ended up selecting, I was so counting on the challenge of dealing with your lime green Christmas!
So everything is ready to go, no thanks to my obstinate printer! For some unknown reason the black ink is not printing! It is just weird, I would get a whole page and everything would print except the black... I changed ink twice, not the problem, anyway to solved it I printed my labels in green. The Techie in me is retired, along with the knowledge I think. (I retired after 20 years doing mostly tech stuff) Oh well after another cup of coffee and some of that wonderful Peach Cobbler I made yesterday, my day can only get better! |
So am i in big or little group, dont know how much to cut,let me know

Marybeth, I ended up chosing Fruit Cocktail by Chloes Closet for Moda. Peach background color with cherries and I think apples but maybe those are peaches dunno but I was thinking about the time of year when we would get our blocks back, and when I would be stitching them and well probably wishing I was doing an Easter project vs Christmas and there you go I ended up with.. fruit. It goes to show you logic never works for me. I will now need to buy some bunny fabric for a fall return swap :) very very logical.
I like your blue fabric. You will have to enclose your vision of the end result.. calm, cool..water? only blue and white or is hot pink an ok fabric to add, lol, perhaps orange!? hum.. endless choices there. I know! Easter eggs, lots of easter eggs! rubbing hands in glee.. oh no easter eggs? who wants easter eggs? I can make you easter eggs! just give me that fabric first :) All kidding aside what do you think might be fun when you picked it? |
I wrote a note and I would like the blue combined with HOT colors...hot pink, lime green, bright yellow etc...hopefully it will work. Have to go for it!
|
I ordered my fabric from 5bucks a yard.com. They have a really good selection of fabric and Ive gotten a lot of things for under $5! Moda and other brands. I also use the thousand of bolts and only one nut site a lot! I just found out that Im going to be a grandma yet again so Ill be making a baby quilt soon...or maybe two since twins are in both families! They have 3 7 year olds now so what is 2 more! Not sure I want to know if its a boy or girl though. Glad to see some new names joining and so many "old" friends also!

Boomers,
Arheath is a fellow board member. I if you did not see her post about her house burning down, please see attached Thread. I have her name and address if you would be interested in sending her a little something to help re-build her stash and quilting tools. http://www.quiltingboard.com/personal-diaries-announcements-f12/very-bad-news-t197380.html Thanks for caring. Phannie |
Did I miss the list or something. I have been looking for it. I am already to go and just waiting to see who I get. LOL
|
April will email everyone the list for their group(s) when the sign up closes ... I think she said in a week or so. She has to get enough people to fill the large group and I know she mentioned a couple folks had to drop out. She'll announce it here also when the lists go out and when to watch for them.
Hope that helps :) |
Still dont know if iam in large or small group ,would like to know so i know what to cut
|
Getting anxious.. been on a fabric hunt for something I really love. My stash is all tiny scraps so there's going to be like.. 8 different fabrics going out.. haha. I'm boring.. I want to make a blue, black, purple, grey, white.. whatever of those colors quilt and I'm giving it to my friend that i've known for 10 years and she has not yet received a "family quilt".. Our family tends to adopt.. everyone... and of course every family member gets a quilt made for them. She loves blues and she loves the idea of getting a quilt that was essentially made by 16 people. I can't wait.. hurrrryyy uppppp.. c'mon.. I wanna sew while I still have the momentum going. Just finished my first quilt top last night. Started cutting strips for another one tonight.

Congratulations joanelizbay!!! Aren' grandkids wonderful??

I am very sorry to hear about the fire and surely if we each only sent a tiny bit of fabric to her or an extra tool we have laying around or just a card she would so much appreciate it. Currently there is a forest fire going just up the hill from us and its pretty darned scary. I live in the forest and the smoke and smell are very intense. I am praying for all those who live right near that fire. They too are at risk for losing everything. Its such a dry year here in CA. I sure hope we get tons of snow this year. We are high enough up we don't usually get much rain. Maybe today they will put it out.
On a fabric note.. I think that a quilt for your adoptee family member is such a nice thing to do and it will be fun to help you do this. Sharing your love of quilting, you love of well US :) and then we share it back, one giant love fest of a quilt. There you go "Giant Love" or better yet hows about "the love boat" lol.. and wow, was teasing about adding hot pink and there you go.. and I have hot pink too, and hot green and even purple.. you want it you got it Toyota! Obviously its time to go back to my cup of coffee and actually drink it. Went to bed at 1 a.m. and up at 4:30.. gonna be a long day. ciao for now fellow anxiety of this little quilt game starting members. I think I am the leader of this disorder. Glad to step down in a couple days and actually start quilting. |
StitichingPost I have you down for a small group as you requested. I kept you there so as to not overwhelm you.
I am refiguring group sizes now and believe I only need one for each group to close the swap and begin. Double checking now..be back soon! Hugs April |

Leave it to Jaba and Fraew to twist my arm which just healed from Ms. Grace to get me to join in. PMd lovingisabella, signing up for a large group. Now, I still have my 49 UFOs to finish for the end of year so will be slow mailing back blocks, but I always make my deadline.
|
You would have been lonesome without us. You know you really wanted to and besides I told you Fraew and I could be last and be your grand finale, but if your's is the only 1 I'm missing then you'd better get a move on Missy or at least mailed to me with all your blocks if I end up putting it together.heehee...We were only talking a small group then right? Sooooo glad you're with us, I couldn't make a friend quilt without a block from you.
|
You ladies signed up for a large group, you are stuck with me now in the whatever place she puts us.
Lonesome? Remember I am visiting you and may never leave. Oh that is right, you are working on cutting, addressing envelopes both return and sending, oh you are doing it all for me. Got it. Do we have a name for this Boom Swap for the individual groups? I think something with flowers or the fall seasons or maybe Christmas characters. What do you all think? I will keep lovingisabella busy here. |
Happy dance! Happy dance! Happy dance! Filling up the large group with quilty friends. :)
Where's Annaquits and Rwquilts? Ok team, let's go get them! |

YEA QuilterMomma!!! :D
|
HERE! Sorry to be late again. But I am in on the large group. I am trying to decide if I want to go on a muted "red" burgundy and rusty red/creme/dark blue/ grey blue patriotic or I spy prints of all different kinds or maybe half and half. Too much fun and too much to think about.
Glad to see quilter momma is in too. Wouldn't be the same without her.
