Hugs April |
This is supposed to be FUN!!! Stop stressing. You still have almost two weeks left and there's no set number you have to make.......Deep breath now and enjoy this, please.
I'm not a member of this swap but have been reading along...Robert posted that he is doing cottages with flowers, etc....has he posted pictures yet? I'm anxious to see his version of "funky".
I need to check with him.
yes girls don't stress. I received nancy in Louisiana today. |
Would not want my blocks to be left out. I am finishing up my class samples and then I have the machine doing embroidery right now for another swap that is almost due as well. Then onto my quilt shoppe and the possible skyscraper or two story house, not sure, still thinking on this. See, this is what happens when you have a quest with yourself to finish your UFOs, you get behind on everything else. (LOL) I am having fun though and the fabric is being pulled and ready to just sew them up and the foundations are ready as well. Just a matter of getting tinme.
I need to do a couple more myself. Some people work good under pressure I do otherwise nothing would get done.

My Two Swap Sets
I hope these will work. They were fun to make.
Robert can't do it because of being in and out of the hosp. He wants to catch up on his other exchanges.
Hope he takes care of himself and doesn't spread himself to thin. Will definitely miss his beautiful blocks, but health is way more important. This funny weather we're having is affecting everyone. Feel better Robert.

Here are a couple of houses, let me know if these are ok.
I have my "regular" houses coming along. Just not to where I can take a photo yet. They are in pieces. I do have the quilt shoppe coming, skyscraper, and 2nd skyscraper. If life lets me, will have my two story as well. They are just in pieces at moment. Oh the paper piecing thing.
Those are great I love them.
QMomma--- LOVE the one sitting on the nest! :) Nice job on these~~
I remember seeing some birdhouses earlier on in the posts so thought they would make some cute blocks. I will be working on the regular people houses for the next couple of days so i can get them mailed. Squeeking in to the finish line. I sure hope I do not have to much dust flying when I cross that home plate.
Quilter Momma, I love the house with the hen.  I hope all goes well with your creations!!
This has been one of my favorite swaps. And, I have enjoyed making and seeing everyones creations. Thank you Crafty for hosting. |
I am having fun (not) with paper piecing. No wonder I decided not to do the pp swap. These are a challenge. Then had to resize the pp patterns because they were to small. I just like them so much that I want to share them.
Quilter Momma, sweet blocks.....
QuilterMomma, I discovered I didn't have that pp book after all that you have. But, I was able to borrow it from the library. And, yes, you do have to resize the blocks. And some of those patterns are a bit challenging. I know your doing a lot right now so try not to stress yourself out to much.

Oh guess what. The daily block calendar has a couple of patterns for houses so I pieced one during lunch and cut three more out. Have to save one for myself. Here is a pic of it. Yes, it needs pressed, but otherwise I like how it looks. So this will be one of my sets. Made it out of buggy barn fabric. I am still going to do the others, that is why I have them all copied and they will take a project off my to do list because I have the pp patterns all copied before hand so this project will help eliminate an old one. I am learning not to start anything I won't finish
Pretty fabric quilter momma. I will have to research it on the web. :)I like your houses.
The are in nancy J Martin's perpetual calendar 3645 quilt blocks a year calendar that was made several years ago from that patchwork place.
Wow, that is a lot of quilt blocks. lol, but, I was talking about the fabric line. It's pretty. Thanks for the info tho. It was nice of you to share.
Another great looking house!!
Ok, I can see why I am going to have to do that carpal tunnel surgery this month, I can't type worth cahoots. That is to be 365 and it is Nancy J. Martin. Would not want to show any disrespect.
Oh you mean the Buggy Barn Fabric store in Reardon, Washington. Nice little barn shop. Love to shop there. On the 1st Saturday of the month they have grab bags of fabric for $5 sorted by colors and $1.75 per fat quarter. I shop then to get the best deals. If you need me to pick some up for you, pm me and we can talk. |

I am mailing my blocks today but I am very disappointed in them :( My original idea did not work out right as it looked to out of proportion so I went another route. I wanted to make what looked like little mushroom houses. Well I could not find my red & white fabric to make them look like toadstools so I used a brown and they just look dumpy to me. I am so sorry hope those of you who end up with one can use them.
Hugs April |
I'm not going to get my blocks to you by April 15 but do want to participate ... hope to get my sewing machine back today so I can sew .... as soon as I finish my taxes! UGH!!!
April I hope I get one. Yes, maybe the red dotted fabric would have looked better but the shape and colors do remind me of a toad stool on a rainy day. I like it!
