QuilterMomma I love your blocks too. It's going to be really fun to see what blocks come my way. I'm excited to build my neighborhood.
If you need some cute filler blocks I found this fun sulky web-site with a bom village. It's in another language, other than English, but the applique patterns are all there. It's fun to look at too. If I'd found this site before, I probably would have included one of their blocks. Hope this link works. http://www.sulky-international.de/sc...p?seite_id=273 Thanks for this link...in addition to the house blocks, its got awesome BOM quilts!! I had to pm Craftsy and drop from the funky house swap a few weeks back, so now I am living "vicariously" through all of you!! Can't wait to see pics you all put up of all the great blocks that have been swapped... Regards, Kif |
Kif,
Glad you liked the BOM quilts. |
Crafty, yes my number of blocks is correct. I sent in the birdhouses, lighthouses, and churchs.
All your packages are on there way to you hope you love them all.
Wonderful! Thanks so much!
Woo hoo!! I got my blocks today! Did anyone else get theirs?
I didn't but am hopeful for monday.
they have not made their way west yet.
Well, I do have the advantage on this one, as I live in the same state.
I just received my funky houses, what fun! I love the variety. Question... what do you all think is the best way to may blocks that are different sizes come together in a quilt?
Just got my blocks, great assortment, good job crafty!!!!

I understand your question babyruth. That is the challenge. There are several ways to do this. I generally lay them all on the design wall and just look at them and try to imagine how they would look. Sometimes this takes a couple of days depending on what I am doing. Then once you come up with an idea of how you would like them to work, then start laying your pieces to coincide . Sometimes a 6" will work with a 3" to make a 9" which can stand next to another 9" then have a pice of fabric over them to make them the 12" to fit next to another. I am not sure how you want your neighborhood, but lets say you are doing rows, then you may have a 3" row, 6" row, 9" row and 12" row with the 12" at the bottom and this will give the perspective of you standing on a street and the others, because the size is smaller will give dimension as in a background. You get the idea?

Crafty, tried pm you but your box must be full. Quick question, I received 21 blocks instead of 24, just wondering why? Thanks.

Thank you QuilterMomma, that makes sense. Thanks, it will be fun to look for fillers and play with them.

Here are the wonderful blocks I received in the swap. I will probably not put them all together in the same quilt. I am in several other swaps and I think some of the blocks might go better in there but I love all of them.
