Love your avatar Quiltermomma

QuilterMomma 02-29-2012 08:37 AM

Thanks, after the trying last two weeks, I needed to change it up to demand! Both of my coffee pots in our house (one is older and was on its last leg anyway) now take an hour to brew a cup of coffee, the fridge broke, the dog had yuckies for two weeks that were no fun to clean up, the door on the patio broke, it is winter outside, daughter had another car accident (two for this year) totaled her car, injured another daughter, and I just want my coffee. So much fun. Oh yeah, I longarmed my finger and the dog bit the other one when giving him meds. I am sure I can think of some other fun things that have happened, but my job is good, my boss is great, and I know the sun is going to shine someday after this storm so all is well. I found out that I do not like the Silk coffee creamer. The soy in it is terrible.

Crafty,
Is it too late to join in? I know deadline was yesterday but I ended up in the ER. If not I understand and thanks so much I love looking at all of the blocks.
Hugs
April
PS Momma your life sounds not too far from mine lol

I hope you are ok LovingIzabella. You just had surgery this month. I hope you are ok. As the Lord says, He only gives us what we can handle and the rest is His grace helping us thru. Keep the chin up but not out.

Debka 02-29-2012 12:11 PM

All of the pics so far are great - I'm getting inspiration and getting excited about working on my own. Here's my first -

Debka 02-29-2012 12:15 PM

Hmmmm picture not loading. I know it's bc I'm on a Mac and something about the picture size. I've done it one time before but I completely forgot how! Will work on it so I can show off my block...

LovingIzabella 02-29-2012 12:23 PM

Debka I have to ask which part of the Hudson Valley are you in? I am in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
Hugs

I hope it is okay as well. It was a screaming pain along with nausea, vomiting and this odd sensation like the back of my head is frozen on the inside. They sent me home and told me to make sure I go to my appointment on Monday with my neurosurgeon. Of course I am going silly ER people :)
I am staying positive as I still feel better than I have in a very long time. Not having to deal with the numbness and the large vision issue helps oodles!

Of course you can would love to have you hope your feeling better.
quiltermomma sounds like you've had your hands full. My daughter in law bought me a mug it had a picture of Minnie mouse with rollers and said mornings aren't pretty the only thing missing was it need to add before coffee.

Hi April - we are not far from each other - I'm in town of Newburgh. Been here about 4 years now. Nice to meet a new "neighbor"! Especially a quilting sympatico!

OK, trying again to post some photos. I have made 4 sets so far - 2 sets of the tie-dye, and 1 set each of the other 2 fabrics. The pale green background block has some yummy Paula Nadelstern fabrics, to which the pic just does not do justice.

OK, got the photos up - but I don't know why they are sideways. Sorry ladies, swivel your heads a bit and you'll get the idea!

Crafty3790 03-01-2012 09:14 AM

I love the purple roof. Very cool.

Mariposa 03-01-2012 09:26 AM

Debka- cute houses! Like your fabrics, especially the purple, and the blue~~

rwquilts 03-01-2012 09:39 AM

Debka, I tilted my head and walla! Adorable houses did I behold! :)

Barley 03-01-2012 02:26 PM

Debka, adoreable houses. Didn't have to tilt my head. Just tilted my computer.....

Judith1005 03-01-2012 04:44 PM

Debka, Super cute houses. Love all the bright colors. Tilted head and all. (lol)

abonda 03-01-2012 07:45 PM

Want the green and purple one!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love them.

SewExtremeSeams 03-02-2012 04:41 AM

Cute houses but I have to agree with everyone else... LOVE the purple roof! :D

Debka 03-02-2012 01:32 PM

Thanks everyone, for the compliments! I was hoping that my blocks weren't too simple or plain, but I like the fabrics to speak.
I think I might have to sew up another set of the funky purple rooftop houses...then there will be 6 of those.

I made birdhouses and schoolhouses

Annaquilts 03-06-2012 08:27 AM

Those are adorable Marcialee and very well done. I am surer we all hope we get one of those too in the trade. Are they paper pieced? I just started paper peicing and am now even converting patterns so I can paper piece them. Can you believe before I avoided patterns that were paper pieced ?

Thanks everyone...they are paperpieced and they are my first so I appologize now if they are not perfect. but it was lots of fun. I would have made more but I got into to many things on here for a beginner...

Debka 03-06-2012 12:52 PM

Those are so cute! Well done!

Judith1005 03-06-2012 01:22 PM

Marcialee, Love your houses. They are so cute!!

QuilterMomma 03-07-2012 10:43 AM

Oh wow marcialee love those houses and school houses. The school house reminds me of my parents little house they would have to attend. They lived way out in the country and of course walked five miles up hill both ways.

rwquilts 03-08-2012 05:53 AM

Yes! I thought uphill both ways, 5 miles and snow were all required? LOL!

hoppyfrog 03-08-2012 08:18 AM

Has the max number of blocks been changed or is it still 12?

maine ladybug 03-08-2012 08:40 AM

Crafty did mention changing it, but I don't remember if any other number was given.

Crafty3790 03-08-2012 12:39 PM

You can do more if you want. Some are sending in more sets so have fun.

QuilterMomma 03-09-2012 08:30 AM

Yes, it was in the middle of Montana in the Bull Mountains, of course snow that was at least five feet deep and the windchill was always below zero. That is the truth because I am originally from Montana and remember sledding down some of the mountains.
