Hi Retrogirl,
I am very sorry, but I won't be able to participate at this time. Please take me off (2, 17, 47, 80).
Thanks,

retrogirl02 04-13-2010 01:28 PM

Windy Canyon, I have added your block numbers.

retrogirl02 04-13-2010 01:31 PM

cjt_mama & lucylockett, I have removed your names from the list...if you have a change of heart, you know where to find us. Happy Quilting!!

fun2quilt, please hang on to your blocks until the sign-ups end. We're still getting people signing up and people dropping out. Sign ups will continue through the end of the month. I'll send my address out by PM as we get closer to that date so I can send one out to everybody interested.
Thank you.

Did you get my message about having to drop out also? I just want to make sure so that no one is looking for something from me. :0(

blueribbontoes 04-14-2010 05:06 PM

Ladies (and gents?!) I am back! Let's give retrogirl a huge round of applause! She did a great job, which I really appreciate. Thanks again!

I see some people are ready to mail. Please PM me for my address.

Because of being stuck with a huge postage bill during the last swap I hostessed,
I will ONLY BE ACCEPTING prepaid envelopes. (The only exception is anyone not in the US.) Please don't send money, just a paid envelope. Thanks!!

***This means when you send me your blocks, I will only return your swap blocks to you when I have a prepaid envelope from you in my possession. I suggest the prepaid $5 envelopes from the post office to be sent to me with your blocks. :) If you forget to send me a prepaid envelope, I will wait to send you your blocks until I receive one.

I will also be doing something different for returning the blocks. I think I will throw all the blocks in a big bag, stir, and send your (appropriate amount of) sets of 6. I will do my best not to send repeats. You may or may not receive one of your own back.

Is all of this acceptable?

:) :D :) :D :) :D

LovingIzabella 04-14-2010 05:58 PM

Hey BRT Glad to see you are back :-)

I do not mean to sound like a stinker however when the swap started it stated the following:

"You will make 6 blocks all alike and send them to me along with a self addressed, stamped envelope for return postage which will be used to return your blocks to you. You will receive one of your blocks and 5 other unique blocks from other swap members."

Based on this information I joined with the thought that I would receive one of my own blocks plus unique other blocks... I did not join with the thought of getting repeats or with not getting one of my own back. If this is how they are returned I may have to reconsider the swap...I do not want to end up with multiples of the same block. I did this to get many different ones. I do not feel the rules should change halfway through the swap.

Just my two cents...
Hugs
April

Well I kinda agree. I would like to have one of my own blocks back. I worked hard on them and I like them. Here are my pics of them.

abonda 04-14-2010 06:34 PM

P.S. I do understand about the postage. I wouldn't want to get stuck with paying to ship

I love them, they came out beautfully.I haven't even done one yet.

sharon b 04-14-2010 07:37 PM

Love the blocks so far... understand about the postage .
one question about the postage and i don't mean to confuse anyone, but I usually take my blocks to the post office, have them weigh it buy the postage for both shipping and returning, put the return postage with a label addressed to me in the parcel going out, but do NOT include and envelope ( usually the flat rate one) is this ok, or do you want/need the envelope when I send it to you ?

wilhelmina 04-14-2010 08:34 PM

Sorry, I am not going to be able to participate in this swap.

blueribbontoes 04-15-2010 04:16 AM

Alright, we can do that! You will get one of your own back. Not a problem. I actually had gotten quite a few requests for the way I suggested... But really, no big deal. Just trying to please everyone. :)

blueribbontoes 04-15-2010 04:26 AM

Oh! You MUST send me an envelope with postage. Going to the post office and having them weighed isn't a good indicator of the return postage, as the other blocks may weigh more than your original blocks. I learned that the hard way! Lol!

I'm not saying you can't do it that way, but make sure your postage is on a envelope.

abonda 04-15-2010 05:30 AM

thanks so much blueribbontoes. I didn't want to offend you. I know this must be a hard job! and I would want to do it! Thanks so much for putting up with us all. lol I'll send you an extra block you deserve it!!! Thanks again.

Thanks for the reminder. Yes, I believe the coordinator deserves a block for all the work she has done to put this together and then to send everyone's blocks back. It seems to be an enormous job to me. Y'all could be glad I am not handling it! lol

Sugarpumpkin 04-15-2010 08:25 AM

I am sorry everyone but I am going to have to back out of this swap.

To be honest, I have lost interest and don't really have the time either.

Sorry. I look forward to seeing what you all make!

I so wanted to participate in this swap but I just can't right now.
Our Executive Director passed away this week and we have a big trial coming up at work the first week in May.
Please remove my blocks 22, 34, 53, 59, 71, 82.

Sorry

blueribbontoes 04-29-2010 04:43 AM

Hey, we're dropping like flies! Where are all the mini block swappers? How are your blocks coming? Remember, mail date is May 15th.

I may have to drop out if I don't get started by tomorrow the 30th. Time just keeps slipping by but I want to try. Will get back to you tomorrow.

sharon b 04-29-2010 09:04 AM

My son gets married this weekend and then the minis are next on my list  Already have the pattern printed, fabric washed, dried, pressed, just need time  LOL

MadeinMaine 04-29-2010 03:53 PM

I have the two sets done that I signed up for but haven't gotten them mailed yet. I keep thinking maybe I could make one more set. . . we'll see !

SewExtremeSeams 04-29-2010 10:03 PM

I am so sorry but I do need to drop out.

blueribbontoes 05-03-2010 12:26 PM

Tuesy sent in her blocks, and has informed me that all the blocks I normally would return to her are for me to keep... Holy Cow!!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH TUESY! This will make a fabulous quilt for Emme!! You are so sweet!!!!

The ladies on this board are just the best!!

blueribbontoes 05-03-2010 12:37 PM

I have received three packaged so far- wait until you ladies see them in person! I don't know about you, but when you work on a project for too long, I become a bit desensitized to the work. However, you are all going to go "WOW" when you get your blocks back! I know they've been a lot of work, but they turn out beautiful! What is everyone planning on doing with their itty bitty blocks? They will make sunning projects! Give yourself a round of applause for tackling these itty bitty blocks!

abonda 05-04-2010 08:00 AM

I'm not sure what I'll do with them until I see them! So excited! Can't wait!

blueribbontoes 05-04-2010 10:53 AM

OmG, your pugs are too cute!!

Thanks so much I love them. They both have different personalities! The boy Mickey is so mello and the girl Lilly is a beast! But she's cute and she can get away with it? lol
