as far as i remember, it's;
An eight inch white block with a two inch border of fabric from your state/country.

In the white section write/embroider:

International Fabric Swap 2012
Your real name
Your state/country
Your board name
Thank You Carsey

It is an UNfinished 8 1/2" HST block. Go to thread #885 for a link to a tutorial for making HSTs.

Follow Jacquie's direction for information to write/embroider on the block.

Gramajo,
What a great job you did on your quilt!!!

gramajo 03-15-2012 05:06 PM

Thank you all for your kind comments. I'm quilting it now. It's not the best, but it will give me great memories of all of you swappers and where you're all from. That is what I want to remember from my first swap--all of your kind thoughts and beautiful fabrics. Thank you all again.

It's a half square triangle block with 1/2 being a light color to write on and the other 1/2 being fabric that represents where you are from. http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...p1170473-1.jpg

Opps, I used scraps from the fabrics I sent in, instead of fabric to represent where I'm from. oh well. :) this has been such a fun swap, I hope others post their completed projects from their new fq's. :)

Here's my finished quilt. It's quilted and bound (a major step for me--I HATE binding). If you go to thread # 1013, I tell of the pattern I used, etc.

And a picture of the back with the wonderful fabric my SIL brought me from American Samoa.

I didn't want to obscure the Samoan fabric, so I made another small quilt using all the unique labels and label-blocks you sent. I appliqued the labels/blocks to a piece of the fabric you'd all sent so I would remember where they all came from. I backed the small quilt/wallhanging to a map of the world I'd found. I hadn't done the binding on the small one yet when I took the picture. I finished up the binding tonight.

So now you've all seen my results of the International Fabric Swap. Let's see yours.

What a wonderful job, gramajo! I love your quilt.

So far my fabric from the swap is still in the open box, and I look longingly at it every time I go past it. I have a formal and an appliqued quilt to finish before I get to play.:( But soon...
