Bonnie, that's gorgeous! Love the batiks. Are those done in 3D? Hard to tell in pictures sometimes. Oh, I can't wait to get this one!

americassewplace 08-22-2010 03:47 AM

Yes Mam. I had bought the book by Lynne Edwards Cathedral Windows Quilts and wanted to try some of the things that were in it. This is in the book with Christmas colors as a wall hanging. I liked it and it was the size I needed, so I changed the colors. It is the first time I have worked with Batiks too. I am thrilled at how it turned out. And can't wait to see it when ya'll get done with it. So exciting.

maryb119 08-22-2010 06:15 AM

Bonnie, I love your center block! I have ideas already! You are after my heart with batiks. They are a wonderful fabric to work with.

brenda21 08-22-2010 07:22 AM

Chrys 08-22-2010 07:35 AM

Hopefully, the designs will be one that "grows" with him. I can't wait to get started!

Thanks for a little insight into your grandson. I know he'll have one stunning quilt when we're finished with it. Here's your fabulous center!

What a cool center. I love it.

Those who have International addresses, PM your reciever and ask if it's ok to mail ANY rounds that are done early. We know it can take a bit longer to get from overseas to US.

Those who are US, ONLY mail this round early. The rest of the rounds PLEASE mail on the mail dates. If you will be traveling during a mail date, PM your reciever and ask if it is ok to send early.

We don't want tops to be piled up on people with everyone mailing early.

And neither can I. Sorry to say this ladies, but Patti has just made my absolute favourite centre. It features my two most favourite things. The color purple, and butterflies.
Patti this centre is fantastic. Are you really sure you want it back? Cos it can holiday at my place permanently, just as it is now.And did I let you know I really like it.
Linda

brenda21 08-22-2010 03:05 PM

sew cornie 08-23-2010 12:34 AM

Patti, that one has great potential for borders. Very pretty. Oh, I just love all of these! What an awesome group of quilts we're having the privilege to work with!

lindyline 08-23-2010 02:00 AM

Was at lqs this afternoon, and guess what really caught my eye. Yes another butterfly fabric. Had to leave it there, have far too many already, and it wouldn't have gone with pattis,

I did my block this morning while the boys were at school! I've always wanted a house quilt....and Americana is my favorite! So without further ado....

maryb119 08-23-2010 04:43 PM

That is a great block!!!! I have ideas already!

sew cornie 08-23-2010 06:39 PM

Chrys, you have no idea how close I came to doing a red/white/blue house block for my center. That's too funny. Wasn't yours the Mickey quilt in IRR 2? My powder room is all Mickey. Maybe we are secretly sisters . . . lol. :-D

Anyway, I love your house block and am very excited to get to work on it! Nice job!

quiltergirl80 08-23-2010 06:47 PM

Yeah, Americana is just a way of decorating ones' home in patriotic colors here in America. So lots of blues/reds/whites....a lot of country/primitive styles. At least that's how I describe it. :)

It's going in the mail today, wining its way from cold wet Victoria to hopefully a warmer, drier usa visit.
Have fun ladies.

Linda, I have received your center. It is prettier than the picture shows it. The center colors are gorgous and the tiny stitches? I have never seen them so tiny. Gorgous. Can't wait to go shopping to buy some material..... And thank you for the little sewing purse. I really needed one. I had started the Farmers Wife Quilt. I am doing it by hand and I am carrying it around in a zip lock bag in my purse. The one you sent will come in handy and is so pretty. Thanks again. Bonnie

lindyline 08-25-2010 03:02 AM

Bonnie, you are so welcome. Have fun playing with my centre.
Post pics when it's done.Linda

:) Yeah, I'd prefer those to be used. But I won't put a limit on it if someone wants to do something really creative.

tlrnhi 08-26-2010 09:05 AM

Just checking in.
Blocks are looking wonderful!

karielt 08-26-2010 01:05 PM

Do you mind if I ask how old your grandson is? It could help me decide which direction to go in.

I saved your emailed picture on my computer and can post it here if you'd like. And on the IRR 3 Centers thread too, so everyone can drool over it??

My grandson would like me to tell all of you he also likes sports. Just surprise him...he will love it.

LOL. Is he going to be watching the progress with you or will it be a surprise for him to see it at the end? Since he knows about it, I bet it would be hard for him to wait a year to see the finished top!

maryb119 08-28-2010 09:06 AM

He will probably be watching the progress when ever he is here at my house. He is a beginning sewer himself. He made a pillow case for his pillow...with his mom's help (my Daughter). He likes to take thing apart and put them together. He is quite a kid.

Hi Ladies, I am a blow in from Group 6, just having a peek at all you gorgeous centres.

Beautiful works in progress. Best of luck to you all.

Just thought I'd look in and say hi. I think we're all bbeing a little too quiet again.
Cheers
Linda

maryb119 08-29-2010 06:53 AM

We are being quiet. I know I am ready for this to begin and just waiting for the date to send my center. I have ideas for all the ones that have been posted......now it they only are the right ideas when it's my turn to add a border.

lindyline 08-29-2010 01:14 PM

I hear exactly what your saying. What I think the centres could do with now, may not be what they can do with when I finally get a hold of them. Maybe we both need to sit down with a nice hot cup of coffee and relax.
