nhnative that is such a pretty needle book, and all those little goodies too. You will have fun using all of that.

And it came when I had a very bad day. First I took my DM out for her ride at 9 because I knew we were getting a blizzard. Came home at 11 and it was starting to snow. Then my DS called to say he was out of work so I didn't have to take care of the dogs and I didn't have to pick up my DGD. So I thought great now I can stay home the rest of the day. NOT. I ended up taking DM to the ER as her foot was swollen and she had a hard time walking and her Dr was out for the week. I was in there for 3 hours and when I finally came home I had to shovel a path for her to get out of the car. Then I had to go back out and shovel before I went back to the Pharmacy to get her pills. And I only shovelled half of the driveway as by then I couldn't have cared less. I'm just eating supper now. Hope everyone had a better day.

JuneBillie, I hope your dad and niece will be ok. When a parent gets in their 80's or so it is hard for them to let go of their independence. My dad was still driving at 89 when he passed away. His reflexes were really slow. There should have been a big dent in the passenger side floor where I would try to help him stop the car. He only drove a mile or so to the store and church. Since my mom didn't drive he would have been lost without his car.

Pat, sorry you had such a bad day. I hope the needlecase cheered you up a little. The cat and mouse pin was something special. :)

Well I get to post again after dear husband went to store, and brought me back a package from the post office. Thank you Karen (klaws) so so very much for the beautiful pincushions, card, fabric, pins, and candy. I am sharing my candy with my dh. lol... I will be using all of this beautiful package. I use all my things. You are very creative Karen, and talented. Such a wonderful surprise today, and I am cheered up too. How did you know just when to send off your packages to cheer us up? lol... Ok, now for some beautiful pics.

I have me a shamrock. The stones in the pins reminds me of the gem jade.

Here is one of the back of the pincushion.

Oh, and we are now getting snow too. Just right for sewing!

Thank you again Karen. It's all perfect.

Oh Susan sorry to hear about your dad and great niece. I know my dad's driving was so scary but he insisted he was fine. That was a big part of why we moved him to an independent living facility so he wouldn't need to drive. Now I get to drive him if he needs to go anywhere, and he is a terrible passenger! He gets really annoyed when I won't go faster and when I stop at red lights. LOL

That is a beautiful needlecase you got Pat, and it sounds like it arrived on just the right day. I am so glad my DH and DS usually do the shovelling. The last time I shovelled I could barely walk for days. Not gonna make that mistake again. Did the ER figure out what was wrong with your DM?

I guess we were posting at the same time! Love your pincushion Susan. I am so happy to see all the green, it is really what I need right now. Karen where did you find the pink bags of M&Ms???

lynnie 03-12-2014 05:53 PM

wow, nice needlecases and pin cushions coming in. very nice and cheerful.
susan, hope your dad and neice are doing ok

NH, I think you need a snowplow this winter, it seems all you do all day is shovel, you don't have time
for the fun things. I bet you got your muscles this winter. too bad so much snow. we're getting snow tonight
too. again, but at least not as much as you got.

JuneBillie 03-12-2014 08:23 PM

The temperature here tonight is in the 20 's before a wind chill. My dh said yesterday had reached 80 for a bit. Weird weather for sure.

My husband is setting up our electric blanket again. Even with quilts, the heat feels good to my bones.

Be careful everyone when you are out in this weather or shoveling like nhnative. I hope your mother is ok.

Susan, I'm glad you liked what I sent. I used trapunto on the leaves of the shamrock. I wanted them to puff out a little. The green stones on the pins are aventurine, the stone of luck. I thought it appropriate for St. Patrick's Day. I hope it brings you some luck. Go but a lottery ticket.

Lauriejo, I bought some candy after Valentine's Day 50% off. One was a bag of the individual little bags of m&ms. They were something that I knew wouldn't melt when being mailed. Of course, I didn't have to worry this time of year. :D
