This is my March fabric. The blue with designs is the focal fabric and for the doubles I'm hoping you get the 2nd blue to go along with it. The people only doing 1 block should get the focal and I would like just white or WOW..Thanks for swapping..cant wait to hear more of the chicken posts! :)

Tired of my feet and hands being cold, dh said I don't know why you finally bit the bullet and shelled out the bucks but it's about time. Oh I just love having toastie feet and hands

Libster 01-05-2017 01:43 PM

I just got an email from Connecting Threads that my fabric is on the way. Expected delivery- Saturday. I know within a week I can get it to the post office.

LOL, I'm wearing wool handmade socks... got a drawer full of them! They are the BEST, but they take me 30 hours to knit a pair. I have a basic, beginner's mitten pattern for sale on Etsy and Craftsy... you should learn to knit! Mittens are super easy and pretty quick too, because the yarn is bigger than sock yarn.

Glad you are toasty!

Janice should have mine tomorrow, or at least that's what the PO said yesterday. So glad we decided to be snowbirds, this was the year for Florida sunshine. Yesterday and last night at our Wyoming house it was 35 below. Don't miss it at all!!

terriamn 01-05-2017 05:00 PM

wouldn't you know, I get down to the last two pieces to be stuffed in their baggies and I would run out of Baggies. Off to the dollar tree to get more zip lock bags. My package will go out Saturday Morn.

Here is my fabric choice.

joanelizbay 01-05-2017 06:50 PM

Yes its the same fabric that the orange was. I also have it in purple and sure wish I would have gotten more yardage of each. I cant find it anywhere now and I was lucky enough to have enough of the blue for the 2 month group...I hope its enough blocks to make a quilt without having to put too much of a different kind of fabric for borders.

Janice McC 01-06-2017 07:43 AM

There are so many f8 pkgs on the way I can hardly believe it. :):):) Great job, boomers.

Kass, I was telling Bootsy about the naked chickens and their clothes. Perhaps you could post a photo of them.

Janice McC 01-06-2017 09:51 AM

Plenty of time, Libster. No worries!

Joan's orange was one of my all-time favorites! Wish they'd bring it back. Oh, well.

Joan, so you just would like me to give the second fabric to the ones that double so they don't get two of the same? If that's the case, piece of cake. I've gotten that request several times. Let me know.

Yes mam...that's why I thought putting one of each in a baggie marked "double" would have saved you some work. :) Thanks for asking!!

My fabric came in today, a whole day early! I have to confess, these last six pieces did not get washed and dried before I cut them. My mail lady brought my package about 3 pm and I had to cut, package and get everything addressed and to the post office 8 miles away by 4 pm. I did remember to include my return postage right before I sealed it up. I made it with about 5 minutes to spare. It's raining already with some ice pellets in it. It's supposed to turn to all snow shortly. They're expecting it to get really bad here. We'll be in the single digits for the next three nights. I was sweating not getting my fabric in on time this time. Thank you, Lord, for little miracles! Everybody stay safe and warm.

QuilterMomma 01-06-2017 01:39 PM

We get our next wave of snow. It has been in the negative single digits here in Eastern Washington.

Kassaundra 01-06-2017 01:56 PM

My pkt won't go in the mail until monday. We have 2 inches of snow, and I'm not driving off the hill in it. I know you northerners are rolling your eyes, but to us southerners it is the end of the world.

terriamn 01-06-2017 02:49 PM

Stay safe Kass and pump your brakes when you need to stop

sewbizgirl 01-06-2017 03:02 PM

We got more snow! Our sleet turned to snow as the temp dropped. I stayed home today and will do the same tomorrow.

jlt37869 01-06-2017 07:00 PM

I'll mail next week.

Stay safe and warm, everyone!

Lstew2212 01-06-2017 07:10 PM

Our snow has stopped for now, it is freezing. My package will go in the mail tomorrow morning along with B-day presents for my two sisters and dad. Everybody stay safe and warm.

joanelizbay 01-06-2017 07:40 PM

Make her naked too and maybe you will get baby naked chicks!! Hes pretty sexy looking!! :)

LOL how many times did you get pecked trying to dress those guys?? The pants make me laugh!

All2Pieces 01-07-2017 08:00 AM

Jaba - Yes, Florida rain is much better than even Alabama cold today. Sweetie is worried about water pipes in the campers that he procrastinated about last week. I can't imagine dealing with zero degrees or less. And then figuring in wind chill - oh no! Not for me! Sweetheart grew up in ND, hasn't been back there since 1995. He's got enough Southern in him now that he cut his hunting trip short due to expected sleet & rain in Alabama. When we talked this morning he was glad to be back to the house, and laughing about his hunting buddies.

I was playing around with the little pieces of focus fabric I had left and I think Ive changed my mind, even though my note I sent said WOW only..IF you want to add a small splash of color please do!!! I added red to mine and it makes it pop I think. I was looking for a blue to match my focus fabric and wouldnt you know out of a dozen or more "blues" not a single one matched the blue in the focus?? UGH...I agree with Janice..I wish connecting threads would bring this pattern back in any of the colors they had!!

sewbizgirl 01-07-2017 11:28 AM

That's gorgeous, Joan. I think tiny pops of color will enhance the print, too.

Libster 01-07-2017 11:39 AM

Joan, beautiful block! I love the red with it. I'll see if I have a matching blue or red when I get your F8. Out of all that fabric in my sewing room, I should have something.

joanelizbay 01-07-2017 11:48 AM

Thank you...I thought green, yellow/orange, gold would work also but really like the red...Im sure you will ALL find a perfectly matching color! It sure has a variety of choices!!

Janice McC 01-07-2017 01:16 PM

Can do. :) It's much easier to just make sure nobody gets duplicates than it is for me to open them up and make sure there are two in some and one in others. That way, also, when the blocks come back, all I have to do is count baggies. Easy peasy.

Just an update on what I've rec'd to date from this group. I've rec'd blocks from LJDugas, Terriamn and Bootsy. Some packages are hung up in transit, prob due to the weather. Delivery dates appear to be pushed back to Monday on a few.

For those who haven't yet shipped or packed their envelopes, please don't use the ziplock baggies with HARD sliding zippers. While you may have room in your mailing packages, when I have to put them in other mailing envelopes for those with two groups, they can be problematic. You wouldn't think they'd take up a lot of room but they do and they tear tightly packed packages. Please use the cheaper ziplocks without the hard zipper for the individual packages. Thanks!

I haven't posted any fabric photos since I'm sending several different orange or purple prints trying to use up my stash. I did a practice block using my colors for this boom, I really like this pattern and plan to do a fall colors quilt and probably several boom 18 blocks also :)

sewbizgirl 01-07-2017 01:38 PM

That's pretty, Mona. So you are sending out all different oranges and purples? I sent all fabrics I had too. I feel really convicted about all my fabric. I have way more than I need and I really want to use some of it up! Maybe it's the New Year and a need to do better in 2017!

Mona G 01-07-2017 01:58 PM

yep, I sent out about 9 different fabrics so there are a couple of each fabric. I am very excited about how this quilt will turn out.

terriamn 01-07-2017 02:43 PM

Mona and Joan great blocks. Love the purple and orange and Joan the red really pops

joanelizbay 01-07-2017 02:45 PM

I love that block Mona! Been awhile since Ive seen where I have the pattern but think Ill find it! :) I wasnt an orange yellow person till you all made my "orange" blocks and i LOVE that one!!
