Wow, Terri! I just woke up to see that it's now 6 in the morning. The TV is still on- I have missed watching Black List. It came on at 10 last night, so I knocked out sometime before then. This is the longest I ever remember sleeping. I don't want to be that tired ever again. On the other hand, I have had nights like yours. You keep trying to convince yourself to go to sleep but you just know, it ain't going to happen! That's when I get up , make some coffee and cut on my laptop. I'll bet you'll sleep tonight.

I also have this illness. With fabric and yarn. I work at Michael's as a classroom instructor (crochet and Knitting) I always get to see the new yarn when it comes in stock. Every chance I get I got to our local quilt store and Joann's, even though I do not need anymore fabric.

I got my package yesterday. Just now got to open it and see the beautiful fabrics. Oh My!! Can't wait to get started.

I hope you have fun. :)

Cute kitty you have, Janice! <3

Janice McC 01-20-2017 11:27 AM

Thank you. Gracie's just under 17 and we spent part of this morning at the vet as she was passing blood. I was afraid I wasn't going to be bringing her home but it is only a UTI. :) Some meds and she should be right as rain by early next week. I found this pic, it's several years old, but she's exactly the same. Loves to sleep in her various beds with her paw covering her eyes lest the light disturb her. What a cat! The vet said she spunky enough to outlive us all. We also have another cat i inherited and two dogs. Their pix all pop up as avatars periodically.

How about your avatar? Lab?

Marty's dad was a black lab, and his mother is a rough collie... looks just like Lassie! Marty got the black from the lab but you can see his head is narrower, like a collie's. He also got his momma's temperment. He's a pistol. Too smart for all of us.

Packages were picked up 15 minutes ago.

The gallery is open with blocks by Sewbizgirl and Libster. Www.boomerangswaps.weebly.com

Thanks for starting the gallery, Janice! It's going to look great.

All2pieces, I have an app on my iPad that reduces size. It was free, not sure if it would work on an iPhone. It was just called Image Size and its icon it blue/white kinda looks like a quilt square!

All2Pieces 01-21-2017 07:47 AM

Thanks GramE. My phone is an Android. I'll see if I can find the app or one similar. The file size is generally under 450K, which should be fine on the board, but the photos come out huge.

I'm not sure why the picture post twice, it is the same block. The top picture is Ironed and picture taken is in better light.

sewbizgirl 01-21-2017 12:07 PM

Nice block, LStew!!

Mona G 01-21-2017 02:03 PM

Love it, thank you. I'm working on some blocks also.

Me too! I made both blocks for Joanelizbay this afternoon. Joan, I hope this is what you had in mind- to use both pieces in each block. I have mere threads left of both pieces. First one is: Milo's Star. Second one is: Road To Arkansas. They really are square. I was standing on a chair over my sewing table because the light was the best I could get around here. It is pouring rain out.

ibex94 01-21-2017 03:32 PM

Such beautiful blocks! Monday can't get here fast enough.... That's when my April Boom F8s are scheduled to arrive.

sewbizgirl 01-21-2017 03:39 PM

Great blocks, Libster. I've made a couple for my local group's swap today.

jaba 01-21-2017 03:44 PM

joanelizbay 01-21-2017 03:54 PM

Thank you Libster! I LOVE both of them. You can use both in one block, or one color in a block...whatever you want with white! I just love that blue fabric!!

Here are JABA's two blocks. I'm not sure why the colors are coming thru more gray than blue. The first block doesn't have a name, I made it up as I went along thge 2nd is The Cog Block.
Not sure why I decided to work with snowballs today, it has nothing to do with being sad that all the snow outside is melting that is for sure!!

Libster 01-21-2017 04:26 PM

Love these blocks! Jaba, you're off to a great start on your quilt with these gorgeous stars. That red just POPS!

jaba 01-21-2017 05:00 PM

Totally agree libster! Thank you Mona, they are perfect!!!

terriamn 01-21-2017 06:12 PM

Wow, nice blocks everyone!

Here are variations of Hole in the Barn Door and Amish Diamond for Libster using 2 different oranges and 2 different creams.

Libster - I have fabric left over, do you want another block (with a different orange and cream) or fabric back?

marietta 01-21-2017 06:26 PM

Love all the blocks

I love both of these and I know my Sara will too! Thank you so much for making them for me. If you can use whatever is left, please do. I ordered another three yards of this fabric, so I have plenty of it.]
Everyone, please just keep any left over.

Janice McC 01-21-2017 06:45 PM

Uh, oh...here we go with the pix. I love seeing them!!! Beautiful, boomers!

And I know everyone has heard me say it but I'm going to keep it up this round: Target block size is 12 1/2 inches square! I hope this Boom will produce the most blocks right at the goal so please measure as you go AND before you package your finished blocks.

sewbizgirl 01-21-2017 08:44 PM

Great looking blocks, Mona and jlt... Jaba's fabric is so vibrant!

I actually made 6 blocks today for my local group. Ibex, I don't want to post their pics here because Janice might get mixed up and post them in our gallery. Maybe I'll put them in my profile album so you can see them. I think they are pretty.

ljdugas31 01-22-2017 05:00 AM

Hi everyone,I will be off for 10 days as I go to Va to visit my grandkids and daughter. No internet until I get back. Can't wait to see all the beautiful blocks!!!!

Lstew2212 01-22-2017 05:24 AM

I love the leftovers, I cut them into 2 1/2 inch blocks and add them to the collection I already have. I hope one day to make a scrappy quilt out of them.

BUT, if you wish to have your leftovers back, just let me know. I will gladly send them back.

Beautiful blocks, MonaG. The red and Yellow in the blocks really pull the pattern out.

Another block for MonaG, I love the colors of these blocks.

sewbizgirl 01-22-2017 09:51 AM

Loving the blocks so far! Can't wait to play with mine... PO says they will arrive tomorrow. Hooray! In the mean time, my local quilting group met yesterday and we did a fabric swap for a friendship sampler. This is basically the same thing as our Boom quilts here on the board. I got carried away and spent yesterday afternoon and until late in the night making SEVEN of the blocks! If you care to see, I made an album just for those in my profile.
http://www.quiltingboard.com/members...bums19729.html

I even tried a Drunkard's Path... my first! It wasn't so bad going together once I ditched the pins. I love that block.

LJDugas, have a great trip and great visit with your family.
