Lynnie I live in Northford CT but I used live in Sayville, Suffolk County. I feel for you. We did get the same and roads were awful this morning, but everything is melted. Its just getting colder. This has really been a lousy winter.

OK ladies - here is the finished back and the front in progress. Very New Englandy as I said.

I feel like I'm on vacation. :D Very NE, JNCT14. Love the beginnings of this one.

JNCT, love where you're going with this one. To bad we didn't get to know each other back then.
did you ever go to Patchworks in Sayville?

Hey Lynnie I did a couple of times but kinda expensive. When I really started quilting I was living in Boston and had access to the garment district, oh my!

JNCT14 - your wall hanging looks very neat and creative!!!! Can't wait to see more pics as it progresses

So i got the binding on the right way, and then did the inside angles, looks horrible ... here's a pic.

So I took that apart AGAIN (I've taken this dang thing apart 4 times now) and came up with two options:

1 - throw it out (it was pretty tempting)
2 - do an edging seam all around it ... which is what I ended up doing ... here's the pic (and it lies nice and flat!)

looks good now, maybe do it by hand or watch a youtube video on doing inside corners. they are tricky.
how about using the birthing method?

JNCT14 03-22-2015 11:50 AM

Yep birthing method is great. I use it a lot on wallhangings.
