I have found this to be true of many patterns. They say 12" and you figure they are 12.5 with seam allowance. Wrong! They should be more specific. Very frustrating, especially when the block is a little harder.

Someone wisely suggested cutting the outside blocks bigger & then trimming them down. This doesn't work for all, but i used the idea when I made log cabins.

I just finished a crazy patch queen quilt using all sorts of scraps -- I love it, so colorful. Makes me smile in the morning!
