Sounds like we ALL need a bit of silly. Here I'm complaining about finding out I have ulcers, when there are always others worse off the us.

Pat, you NEED the lung transplant, let Child Services figure out what to do with the kids. Sounds like someone needs her tubes tied. What a bad place for you to be, between the love for your DGKs and your health, In my opinion, your health comes first. You can't take care of kids if you can't breathe.

I agree, child services found you didn't they? They can find someone else to keep the kids while you get yourself healthier!!

Yes, Pat, heed the advice. The kids need you healthy & you'll feel a whole lot better because of the transplant. Take care of yourself!

We all could use some silly. I have had worsening health conditions this year. and a month ago, I ended up with 6 grandchildren dropped off by Childrens Services. They are driving me crazy, wearing me down physically, but I love them to death. As you can imagine little quilting is getting done, since the range from 10 to 6 months. I had to cancel the lung transplant I was on a list for because I don't have 4 weeks to be away from home. Prayers gratefully accepted!! and tons of fun and giggles too.

Pat, I agree with the others. You need to take care of yourself, in order to take care of anyone else. Please get that lung transplant, while you're still healthy enough to do so!

Sending hugs and prayers,
Neesie

I live out in the country, where a bit of fertilizer is not a big deal. :D

***Just wanted to add, last year I used a silicone 9x9 pan to pour the mixture into to set. It was fantastic, I was able to just flip out the hardened mixture onto a chopping block for breaking the piece apart.*** Years past I just used a Pyrex dish and it was sometimes difficult to remove, no sticking no problems with the silicone. I highly recommend it, in fact now I won't use anything else. The silicone pan I used was round but similar in size to the 9x9. Once it's broken into pieces and dipped in the chocolate it will all look the same.

In a saucepan, mix the syrup, sugar, vanilla and vinegar. bring this mixture to 300 degrees on a candy thermometer. (It is nt necessary to constantly stir the mixture while boiling to desired temperature) When the mixture reaches 300, stir in the baking soda, just until dissolved. Adding the baking soda will cause the mixture to double in size. Pour the mixture into a buttered 9x9" pan. DO NOT SCRAPE THE SIDE OF THE SAUCEPAN AND DON'T SPREAD THE MIXTURER AROUND IN THE PAN. Let cool. Loosen mixture from pan and cut into bite size pieces. The pieces will break apart into different shapes and sizes, this is just fine. Melt the chocolate for dipping. Dip pieces of candy in chocolate and let set on waxed paper. When set, store in an airtight container.

This is the recipe for the fairy food, angel food candy, sponge candy.
