There was a post a ways back with some really good looking apple jelly or butter! I have never made it but it looks really good! And sounds even better!!!
The hint for my SS is that they live in Canada!!! It narrows the field a bit!!

sewnsewer2 10-08-2013 05:14 PM

Humm, our call letters start with a W. Maybe it's me??

All of them or just some of them?

My SS lives where it snows, far away from me. She is on Pacific time zone. She's not picky and doesn't have an embroidery machine. She also has 1 furbaby.

sewnsewer2 10-08-2013 05:35 PM

Don't know, but we have a TV stations with call letters WFTV channel 9.

This one could be me. Television station is WHSV and radio is WELD, WKCY, and WFRB.

Just in case my SS is watching here is the measurements for my new travel machine that needs a cover.
17 inches long, 7 inches wide, and 13 inches tall.
Also I really could use on of those thread catchers that are round and can just collaspe when you need to pack them up. I have one of those ones that you sit on the edge but it tends to get in my way so I tend to set a cup just to the left of me out of the way. Thanks

mdall 10-08-2013 06:28 PM

Please, Please, PLease SS could you please leave some hints as to what you would like. The only thing I that is handmade that you have mentioned in any post is something that I completely suck at making. Please give some help.

Leota 10-08-2013 07:16 PM

Oh I have a tip for you SS's... please write QB on your box.... I am in another swap on another site and this way, I won't accidentally open my SS box instead of my December box from the other swap. :D

BTW... keep us in your prayers... dh has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.... going to Houston next week for evaluation to see if he is a candidate for surgery.

Just another idea if my SS is watching. On my list I forgot to list that I love my music. I am a major Eminem, Nickelback, and Skillet fan. If you cant think of anything else then a giftcard for Emusic would be great. The new Eminem cd is also due out on November 5 and is called Marshall Mather LP 2. Just an idea.

I always put Secret Santa on the outside of my box. Are your other swaps on something other than the QB?

IrelandDragonQuilting 10-08-2013 07:35 PM

I am so excited! I am finally in some down time. In between courses. SO.. catching up on all these pages is so not gonna happen.. LOL!! I have started working on my SS package. My SS didn't give a lot of clues to what was on the ol wish list, and stalking is not helping. So I will make a HUGE variety of items and hope for the best. ;)

Nelco 10-08-2013 09:36 PM

I just thought of something I would LOVE to have. And it would help with my paper piecing. it is called 1/4" ruler that has a lip on it at the 1/4 mark. I am going to the MQX Thursday to check out all the wonderful quilts.

I LOVE Batiks!! Only need 25 fat quarters or 225 two and a half Inch strips. Or...225 two and a half inch strips of misc. Colors to make a strip quilt that I want to make myself one day.

Knitette 10-08-2013 10:47 PM

Even though I gave my SS ideas to choose from, I'm not really bothered. Calculator, batiks, twister tool (whatever that is), machine cover, zinc - anything is fine. Not too sure about how the kitten would travel though. :)

Good morning Santa's! It's nice & cool this morning & going to be 80 today. Great fall weather here in Texas. I've been busy in the studio making things for my Santaee. Want to see them?? NOT! Wait til reveal time!

Hint for the day: You don't live too far from a major body of water.

sewnsewer2 10-09-2013 03:39 AM

My lips are sealed. LOL

huntannette 10-09-2013 04:49 AM

After much thought, I just want to let my Secret Santa know, I do not expect homemade. Homemade anything is nice to me. Bookmarks, mug rug, cheery or art like wall hangings are very welcome. A pretty candle mat or table runner is nice also. I just don't want to put anyone to too much trouble. Secret Santa is fun! (No stress, no worries.)

I am having a great time both filing my Santa box and making some delightful goodies. I share this experience with my mom as well and she has just as much fun helping me decide what to put in the box and what to create or buy. I don't seem to see any clues that apple to me. But, I'm not that well versed about the area I live in. I've been transplanted here from FL and really miss home. So, if I haven't even gotten a "clue", forgive me. :) lol

Hope this helps you Santa. I wonder if my giftee needs one also. hm, will have to ponder on that for a bit. I guess I'll go spy ahem, I mean eavesdrop, oops, I meant peak in on my Secret Giftee and see if she has mentioned anything anywhere else. :) I do come here daily and have a look around.

sewnsewer2 10-09-2013 05:04 AM

Judith, where in FL??

Judith1005 10-09-2013 05:29 AM

I just bought this ruler this week at Elenor Burns Shop. All because of this You Tube tutorial.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xv2gKMx9CCM I'm going to make my monthly bee block this month trying out this tutorial and the ruler. I'll let you know how I like it. I've paper pieced before, but, really had no concept on how to do it. This really made it easy to understand. (I never could figure out how they got those perfect 1/4 in. seams.) Now I know. I'm a self taught quilter and can't really afford to take classes right now. A board member JeanieG posted this suggested tutorial over on the "Spike Your English" (here) http://www.quiltingboard.com/blocks-...t227252-8.html back in August. I love how informative and helpful fellow QB'rs are. I'm sure everyone will want this handy little gadget.

I'm going to show my ignorance again! How can zinc ward off anything? Dont you just plaster it on your face to stop sunburn?

buddy'smom 10-09-2013 05:59 AM

Oh I have one of these and love it, if your doing much smaller PP a 1/8" is even better.

I don't know but I am taking it in a cough drop & it helping!

Quilty-Louise 10-09-2013 06:32 AM

Sorry I have not been "talkative" the last few days.

Have been dealing with the crud, after a week I decided it has
gone on long enough so I called to make a Dr. appt. to bad it
isn't until 1pm.

This crud turned into more than just a sore throat, and aches
it has now reached the opoint where I have come down with
pink eye and a friend told me when she had all the same symptoms
I have that hers ended up being walking pneumonia. I sure hope
I don't have that.

I stopped working on my SS package when I started getting sick
and I WON'T even attempt to go back to it until I am completely
better.

I think this would have been a great tool if it would have been available when I first learned to PP, but after doing it without for so many years, was just cumbersome and and extra step not needed...so I would encourage anyone learning to PP, get one right away...it will make it easier!

I have been putting my fat quarters together in a nice bundle for my SS, but it would have been soooo much more fun if I'd have had any idea of fabric color choices...I tried to pick things I would enjoy, but people's tastes are so very different...I have been adding things that regardless of her likes, she will LOVE however! Lots of handmade things...just because I have no life and lots of time! LOL! :D Thus far my SS has not posted since names were assigned...so I could probably show ya'all what I made her, but she may be lurking and reading, so best not spoil anything, just in case! :)

Prayers for hubby, Leota!!!

I hope it isn't that too! I have a cold too,but nowhere near that bad

Neesie 10-09-2013 07:21 AM

I just ordered from Amazon.com, one of those 1/4" rulers and some Sax white newsprint, for paper piecing. I've been seeing way too many pretty patterns, to not even give it a try. :) After reading the reviews, I ordered the 12" ruler, rather than the 6".

Now I'm off to my sewing machine, in an attempt to justify my endless buying of fabric. :D

sewnsewer2 10-09-2013 07:22 AM

Oops forgot to say get better soon!

I hope you LOVE PPing! the ruler to begin with is a great idea! Good luck in your sewing room...I'm off to mine as well! Hope there aren't 100 posts to read later on today. :o
