Here are some things I've made in the past The red one is all diff reds.
I sold my stuff to a gift shop in Kalona Iowa for 12 yrs. My hotpads were my best seller. So I made aLOT of them. The owner preferred the scrappy look so I did alot of scrappy stuff for her in 12 yrs. One of my tricks of the trade was to have strips sewn together into sets of border strips. I tried not to repeat the same fabric as much as possible. I like variety. I kept these strips as resource. Then when I needed a border I could pull those out and use them. I did sets of 4 border strips.
If you have some things partially done you can set them aside for any project that you might want something quickly. I have HSTs made ahead and other of my shortcut blocks. I tend to like light/dark contrast so I have organizers full of these. Any other suggestions anyone? Any tips or tricks you use? |
Nice hotpads, Rhonda! What do you use for the batting?
