Thank you Foxflower! What a clever idea!

Eventually I'll probably do this.....old towel as foundation, cut to size or maybe doubled over, foundation piece down scraps, and bind. The one in the picture isn't bound, and I guess the edges could be zig-zagged, but in my experience, towels fray pretty bad. It looks like a fast and useful way to use scraps. I don't think it need be limited to the bathroom either.

Don't forget the swaps! I set up the scrap swap and the item swap so if you are interested in joining in let me know!!

if you haven't seen it yet I did a tutorial on using color in the same quilt block made with HSTs. Some of what I used is scrappy and I thought you might like to see them.

Here is the block I received from the last swap. Isn't it awesome? I don't think I've ever met a log cabin block or variation I don't like. This one is in colors I love and would use myself. It kind of reminds me of a snails trail block too, which I also love. Thank you TooManyUFOs!

Wouldn't that be a stunning scrappy quilt with the soft blue blocks surrounded by white or yellow sashings? Very pretty block.
