That is so so pretty. I have to admit now, I am getting anxious for my wall hanging. I know it will be here soon though, and oh so pretty.

Rhonda 03-26-2013 02:46 PM

Jaba I finally got my wall hanging you mailed on the 4th!! My post master was curious and he tracked it to see it's journey! It took quite a nice little 3 week trip!!

It left Ralston WY and was sent to Casper WY and then on to Des Moines Iowa. then they sent it to Denver Co. Then it went back to Casper and they sent it back to Des Moines on the 20th! then they sent it to Salem.
Quite a well traveled wall hanging wouldn't you say??? I had a check do that one time. It was mailed 50 miles from me and took 4 weeks for me to get it.

but I LOVE it!! and well worth waiting for!!
I'll post a pic as soon as I get one taken.

Here is my wonderful wall hanging from Jaba! I finally got a chance to take a picture!
My lighting isn't the best so Jaba if you have a better picture you can post it!

I was so excited to see the wall hanging I never looked in the plastic envelope. My DH was sitting at the table going through everything. He says did you know there is a chocolate bar in here? LOL

http://www.quiltingboard.com/members...173-405877.JPG This may be a little clearer so I'll post. Glad to liked it

Rhonda 04-02-2013 10:22 AM

Thanks Jaba I bought a camcorder awhile back so I could do videos but it doesn't take the best still shots as there is no flash. I need to pick up a regular camera for these type of pics.

nancia, 2" square finished I think they were. It was fun to make and the flower and butterfly just finished it off nicely.

JuneBillie 04-03-2013 03:53 PM

Rhonda that wall hanging is very pretty. I am still waiting on mine from Mary Mo. I feel like a kid now waiting for Christmas to get here. Mary Mo makes such pretty things. Tracey have you received yours yet? Have a nice week everyone. We had our dog (Jo Jo) to pass away this morning. We are so sad.

queenof2802 04-03-2013 07:28 PM

JuneBillie so sorry for your loss. No, I am still waiting too. Good things come to those that wait!

Rhonda 04-03-2013 07:46 PM

JuneBillie I so sympathize. it is hard to lose a loved one be it pet or human. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

JuneBillie 04-03-2013 09:11 PM

Thanks Tracey and Rhonda. Jo Jo was the kindest big boy. He will always be in our hearts.

nancia 04-03-2013 09:52 PM

so sorry about jo jo passing. it breaks your heart. what kind of dog is he?

JuneBillie 04-04-2013 08:48 PM

nancia Jo Jo is part Australian Shepherd, and part Golden Retriever. He was very blond in color, and as gentle as a lamb. His legs were long so when it come feeding time, I would come with his bowl, and he would stretch out his two front long legs, and wait for me to set his bowl on them. After that we would say to him, Jo Jo put your tables out, and he did. If we then just set his bowl next to him he would pull on the bowl until he had the bowl on his tables.

nancia 04-05-2013 05:01 PM

awwww, what a special boy! i'm so sorry for your pain. i guess we know when we fall in love with them that they will break our hearts one day. but, it is so much worth it.

Have the rest of you waiting received your wall hanging? I still haven't either, but noticed my name with Mary Mo's to send is not on the last list. I am ok though, and on to other fun things on the board. It's such a wonderful board.

Have a good weekend everyone.

JuneBillie 04-12-2013 07:31 PM

it was mailed , and several of my parcels that were mailed that day came back, but theone to England has not , and 3 regular card envelopes in teh states did not but 4 card envelopes took a few days to come back unclaimed by ther postoffices after my post office told me how mush to put on them, i needed postage on them, and another package, a Doll Quilt was returned to a neighbor and she was in the hospital when she cam home and went through her mail she sent her son over to bring me my package , now queen your wll hanging is a vase of flowers, and i used a dark bluish for the back and like a brick for the pot, and pretty sprint like flowers, i wanted to show growth and pretty, i was sure i had a tracker i will look again and look for your state on these papers and see if i can find the tracker are anything to see where it might be and if cant fine anything and u do not get anything in a few days i will make you another one, i had done quite a bit of hand work on the other one but will not do as much on this one, will do something different and get it out to you this week, by friday, and I will go and take it to the Post office and put a tracker and have u sign for it, this time, I am so sorrry i know how it is to wait for a surprise and still be waiting, at times i think thepony express could get it to you faster, again so sorry , but i diddo itandi did mail it and i do have a picture ofit, if u want to see it, i will showit to you, lovngrandma

queenof2802 04-20-2013 04:10 PM

No rush. I understand that sometimes the PO makes mistakes. I have had a few tracking #s not b valid and the package show up a few days later than what was promised. We can give it a few more days before you start a new one.

nancia 04-20-2013 11:25 PM

i don't know what issues the p.o. is dealing with but i'm not real happy with them at the moment. i sent a very important card to a little girl and dh said they crossed out the zip and put a new one. it had the right zip according to all the other things i've sent that she has rec'd. today/ yesterday the card came back,,, wrong address. and a mug rug i sent took nearly a month to go across country and it looked like it had gone thru 3 war zones on it's tummy. parts missing, etc. but it did get there. i can't decide if they are worse than they used to be or if i've had a long run of good luck come to an end.

grann of 6 04-21-2013 03:42 AM

In defense of the P.O., I have NEVER had a problem with the postal service in all my 72 years of using it. I have sent many many quilts off to various charities and people, plus other items, and never had a problem. All items were delivered on the projected date on the receipt. Yes, the post office is having financial issues, but I also think they are getting a bad rap in general because of a few bad areas that need to be addressed. You guys are bashing them, but think of what you will do without them if/when they fail and what the cost will be for another delivery service.

nancia 04-21-2013 05:52 PM

i don't doubt that what you say ts true, but i have had a series of dysfunctional post offices. so even tho' i'm bashing them, i'm doing it from personal experience and not just hearsay from other people. my local po when i lived in tx had a member go postal and shoot 2 people she worked with. and that was a p.o. that had major problems. i applaud the good offices. it's a difficult job and frankly not one i would enjoy doing, and i'm glad there are people who want to do it. i still use the po as much as possible, to help keep it in business.

Rhonda 04-21-2013 06:44 PM

I post alot of pkgs every week. my post master is terrific but not all postal workers are as careful as Jim is. I had to wait for 2 weeks for one pkg that went walkabout. for some reason it was sent to the next town and then sent to Denver. Denver sent it back to the second post office which sent it to Iowa city(I'm in Iowa). iowa city sent it back to Dallas and they sent it back to Iowa City. after that it finally came to Salem to me.

These things do happen and are very annoying but most of the time everything works great.

Canadian mail is worse than ours. It takes 2-3 days from here to any state but it takes no less than 18 days or more anywhere in Canada. But it only takes 4 days to my friend in France. Go figure!

nancia 04-22-2013 11:42 AM

i have sent things overseas and it is an anytime now situation. can get there quickly, or take weeks. i figure they have to put mail for the uk on an airplane from here as the queen mary doesn't make that many crossings. it's less than 10 hrs by plane i think. so do they just sit on it after that? or does it have to go to california to get there? but, it is certainly better all around than it has ever been , so let's hope it continues to improve! with the internet we get use to immediate results. so far they have not figured out how to transport a quilt on airwaves, or what ever they are these days!
