Its official I am using the first set of fabric that I posted in my selections. The easter ones with the eggs and all the other good fabrics that went with it. It is alot easier for me than the last one where only two went together and the middle purples are not calling to me. must be the time of year. Its so cold and thinking of spring.. flowers we have lots of daffodils in the mountains around here. They love the cold winter weather I think. usually they come up between snow showers and all get smooshed but they sure are pretty. There is even a place nearby that is callled Daffodil Hill. Famous for their display of daffodils zillions that are all over the property and people come from all over to check it out. its sooo pretty. awful curvy road to get there however. yikes.

Elisabrat 01-14-2013 07:15 AM

Also instead of doing an applique I am going to go for a four quilt block group, two on top two underneath I think. I am not great at applique and well do what your good at especially since I am sharing it with someone else :) I think you will like it. Quiltermomma have you decided what your switching your wall hanging out to?

Rhonda 01-14-2013 07:30 AM

when I was a kid my cousin and I roamed my family's timber acres. there is a hill that gets covered in pansies every year. so pretty! we used to play there alot.

lovngrandma 01-14-2013 08:31 AM

Linda is that a picture of your yard, so pretty, and love the shed,
Around here in the spring and summer u see fields of sunflowers, oh man they are so pretty,
the hills that have whatever kind of flower , is also beautiful, God has sprinkled color everywhere, and did a great job of it,

That is such a pretty, and peaceful looking picture. I love flowers, and all the nature given to us. I will be doing quilt blocks in my wall hanging. Pink will be one of the colors.

Yesterday Nancia came over and we did some yakking and sewing together. I started working on my wall hanging. I will only divulge that the embroidery machine is a crucial part of my design. That is mostly because I am flying by the seat of my pants here, no definite design as of yet. I have to do it as I see what I like. I am going to only use stash fabric, and that is making it difficult so far.

Love it! I bet the whole thing is really cute!

grann of 6 01-17-2013 04:58 AM

How cute Lynnie! I have 6 blocks embroidered, now to decide how I want to put them together, and to find the time to sit down and do it. Hope to get back to it this weekend.

Elisabrat 01-17-2013 07:10 AM

Ok you guys are fast zoom zoom zoom fast. Good for you! I have fabric. and an idea. now just had another idea thinking of using my tulip fabric making two tulip blocks and then using that same fabric in a four patch pinwheel on top left and bottom right. using two fabrics to sash.. it is not a quiet tulip fabric.. will be spring not easter.OR I go for the easter fabrics and make two blocks left right applique bunny basket thingy and two four patch pinwheel with easter fabrics.. hum.. they both say make me make me what sounds better? and who knows who will get it. see.. mysteries abound in this swap.

Lynnie love the sneak peak. And hey what was just embroidered? um.. bunnies? pansies? ladies with crinoline? redwork? colorwork? ok ok tell us more!!!! and Rhonda what does your little project look like even if its in your head only? oh grand leader give us a clue!!

grann of 6 01-17-2013 01:21 PM

Mine is not necessarily springy, definitely not Eastery, more gardeny. I can't tell you what it is going to look like because I have no idea. It will be a surprise even to me.:D

ScrapQuilter 01-18-2013 09:13 AM

The wall hanging I have made for the swap can be used year round.....................

Rhonda 01-18-2013 05:41 PM

Where are all the pictures everyone? we need pics of your progress if you arent' done yet!! LOL You won't spoil any surprise since noone knows who gets what yet.

So post those pictures!!!

grann of 6 01-18-2013 06:24 PM

Too much "life" going on over here. Can barely get here.

LAQUITA 01-19-2013 05:04 PM

Hello Ladies,
I've sent a PM to Rhonda about joining this swap. I've got a wall hanging almost completed, all except for the hanging sleeve on the back. Then it'll be ready to ship.

The wall hanging is in many shades of purple, lavender, lilac, & white..... I hope there is someone out three that like these colors,!!! :)

nancia 01-20-2013 03:42 PM

well, of all the nerve!! i somehow fell off this thread! fortunately, grann said something about it and here i am, back again! and you thought you could get rid of me that easily???! lol, of course, not! i have just spent an amazing amount of time catching up with the posts. i am still considering my options for a wall hanging pattern. i see many are doing spring. such a beautiful season! and those daffodils are so lovely! but i'm not sure i'm very much of a spring colors kinda person. i do love my brights! so may lean strongly in that direction. anybody particularly like polka dots?? i admit i enjoy them. whimsical sounds nice, too. hmmmmmm....... i may have to really think about this, some more. i also love modern quilts, and mini quilts. the hardest part isn't the making, it's deciding which road to take. and that involves cleaning up my quilt room so i can find something to work with. other than 1 or 2 board things (like this), i am taking february "off" so i can finish up some projects. i love the swaps, but then i don't work on my other stuff, like quilting for coyote magic, who probably thinks she'll never get her quilt back, or finishing strip blocks for my jellyroll partners, or making a new needlecase because i didn't like the work i had done on the one i swapped. and then there are all the family quilts, that i have the fabric for, and the patterns, but haven't started. i know i won't get everything done, but i intend to at least make a start!

I so agree, can't imagine how you fell off any swap :) but glad to see you picked yourself back up and bounced right back in here.

LoupEsprit 01-21-2013 08:14 AM

I'm back as well! Life knocked me for a loop for a while, but I bounced back up swinging!

A new job literally fell into my lap, and I *LOVE* it!! (the pay is less, but the fact that I love the job makes up for it). It's done wonders for my attitude, that's for sure!

Anyway, I'll post more about that in the 'diary' section. I'm back and ready to get to sewing! :)

JuneBillie 01-23-2013 07:02 PM

I was working tonight on some of my little boston blocks with shades of pinks, white, and green. It was very interesting, and fun. I am a little slow right now though, because last night as I was walking across my living room a muscle/tendon tore badly, and I have to go to the doctor in the morning. It felt like someone come up behind me, and hit me in the calf of my leg with a hammer. But, tonight I got to relax some with my little blocks. These blocks are a first for me, but such fun.

nancia 01-23-2013 07:38 PM

junebillie-- sorry about your leg! has this happened before? you sound like you know just what happened. hope it heals quickly on it's own!

so sorry about you're leg! I hope the dr can give you some help. Leg pain is the pits.

glad you are enjoying my Bostons tho!

JuneBillie 01-24-2013 06:19 PM

I have tore some ligaments in my leg. I had been on cipro for 2 weeks for kidney infection, and one side effect is torn ligaments, and with lupus etc. I cannot take this med anymore. I go next week for some physical therapy. I was a bit concerned, because in the past I have had a blood clot in my leg, but I am thinking this one will be ok with therapy, and rest. I will just have to work on some more of my quilt. That is always good therapy. :)

Elisabrat 01-25-2013 02:18 PM

First and foremost I am so sorry to hear of your leg trouble. boy it sounds like a tough one and hope you find some relief.

Ok second..
drum roll please: I am DONE. tada! finished TADA! happy dance double time.. da da da daaa daaaa dadada da da!! I just got in this mission to finish things this morning and I finished this one and all but back sewing of binding on another. yahoo. now to go hit the last boom block um this boom finished Jan 1st mind you and the fabric just came a week ago.. a tad late boy I dont do late well.. well going to finish it because. I made a spring with easter egg fabric combined happy pastel pinks, yellows, purples cream its cute. I wish I could post it for you but the camera has broken. maybe the good dh can take a pic for me otherwise when you receive it please photograph and post it! this was fun once I got rolling. I am thinking its about 17 x 22 maybe 24 I forget now.. sigh such as it is to be me and I surely just measured it a couple hours ago. If you like soft colors and easter you might like this. PS no bunnies or chicks sorry went with pinwheels, tulips and butterflys and of course.. easter egg fabric too. so if you cant do easter for religious reasons would you tell Rhonda so you dont end up with something counter to your beliefs? gracias. Rhonda surely you understand this too and can accomidate anyone who might not want that at all. i am patient can send when you say your ready. OH yes the postal closes on Saturdays at 11 and I am in dialysis so in theory you can give me a Monday or later mail date and I wll get you all the confirmations you need. Unless you have someone sitting in their chair waiting waiting waiting then well.. I can go out before they close today. Gracias!

LoupEsprit 01-27-2013 09:28 AM

I'm still looking for inspiration... I had an idea, but used it in a smaller scale for the mug rug swap. I'm not sure if I should do the same 'theme' again... I suppose I could, because I won't have the same partner.

Hmmm.... Opinions?

I keep watching this and kind of have an idea, but have a couple of questions please. Do you put a hanging sleeve on the back of them ? and if they are suppose to have one, what would you do if it's 2 sided? Thanks for suggestions.

Adding a hanging sleeve is a good idea but it is up to you. If you want you could add some loops at the top for hanging if it is two sided.

jaba 01-27-2013 04:28 PM

Thanks Rhonda, that's what I was thinking but just wanted to make sure. Now for the time to sew what's in my head, we'll see.
