mimiknoxtaylor 02-20-2013 09:50 PM

Love them all, ladies. I got signed up for the next swap but have too many ideas bouncing around in my head. I will but that's half the fun isn't it?

nancia 02-20-2013 11:35 PM

mine is coming along, i am hurrying, but i don't want to make it look slapped together--i'm not in that big of a hurry! i saw grann of 6's today and it is gorgeous! she does such beautiful work!. lucky recipient who gets that one! hard to believe we get any work done, we do so much talking! for those in the know, heidi and gus like to serenade us as we work. they are like the 'angelic chorus' just off-stage. they are so cute--yes, that is the right word. they think they are little lap dogs and put here just for garnering lovies. well, they got that half right! lol. love those babies!

what kind of dogs are they? we used to have a doberman that thought she was a lap dog LOL If you sat down she would take a flying leap and land in your lap whether you were ready or not!

nancia 02-22-2013 01:09 PM

i have a viszla friend that does that to me! i was his puppy nanny and he and monkey grew up together. grann has a great dane, heidi, and a rotty, gus. they are just darling!

JuneBillie 02-22-2013 01:26 PM

I am still working on mine, but it's not turning out the way I wanted it too. Whoever gets it, please be kind. lol.....

grann of 6 02-22-2013 02:40 PM

Heidi, the Great Dane is a lap dog, will sit on your lap if given the chance. She is 10 years old, but thinks she is still 3. Gus the rottie is a mix, is 8 years old and has 2 bionic knees, this is the first winter in 3 years that he could run free in the fenced in back yard. He is so happy with life right now that he forgot to acknowledge that he is 8.

Am loving the wallhangings so far. We need more pics.

Little RoO 02-22-2013 03:32 PM

That's up to you of course but you wont' be ruining any surprise since noone knows who will get it.

Elisabrat 02-23-2013 04:59 AM

that is proof. soft sweet spring colors Junebillie. is that hand appliqued? I am sure its going to be gorgeous. Mine is all pastels also in pinks, yellows, purples.. no picks but it is finished waiting to fly to a new home.

Everose 02-23-2013 06:21 AM

Finished the binding on mine yesterday. Ready to ship as soon as I get a name. No pictures posted. Haven't been able to get camera out to take pictures of my pretties. (some pictures on camera are of Mom when we viewed her before her cremation) Soon - maybe DH will help me separate them.

morning everyone! just popping in to say hello! I was at a fabric shop the other day Bearly Quilting in Sonora and they had this wall hanging kit. Actually a group of them.. but this caught my eye. It was the side profile of a bunny. fusible applique. like a standing chocolate bunny side profile. He had a egg in his hand. That was it some pretty striped pastel going all around it and I was so close to buying it but thought oh heck you can make it simple enough bunny. patterns like free on the net. But I have to say it was so cute. would be a grand wall hanging for easter and might be next on the wall hanging list for me. I couldnt justify 22.00 for a 12 W x 18 long piece of fabric lol. I think I also need to make a cactus wall hanging. the idea just came to me and its perfect for a western or cinco de mayo wall hanging. with some chili peppers and maybe a pot at the base like those old fifties tablecloths have.. yup that would be cool. and I havent even had my coffee yet its still brewing!

Elizabrat, I don't have much luck getting pictures on the Board, but I am trying. Anyway I just love your mug rug, and you did such a good job of it. By the way, I would love to see your western cactus or Cinco de Mayo quilt. I spent 13 years in Phoenix, and many more years in the California desert, so my heart is there. If you decide to make one like that, maybe we can do a private exchange - tell me what kind of mug rug you would like. fmhall2

Rhonda 02-23-2013 11:29 AM

well just 3 more days til I send out the addresses!! I'll send them out on the 26th so you have a couple of days to get yours in the mail. I can't wait to see all of the wall hangings!!!!

If the maker can't post I hope those who recieve will post a pic for us to see

JuneBillie 02-23-2013 08:39 PM

Elisabrat I am sure yours is beautiful. Mine is just a teaser, because it is not the one I am sending. Some of those fabrics are in the one I am sending, but there are some others too, but similar. I have been using that one along with the other one to practice, but not sure it will be any better. oh well. I am still learning. lol....The other teaser I seen is very pretty, and I am also looking forward to seeing all of the wall hangings that will be shown. Have fun everyone. Happy sewing!!!

Ok....have taken a picture....am hoping who ever gets it likes it......as I made it mainly in February....I thought of spring and hearts.......the old romantic that I am !!
I have had such fun making it, lots of wonky seams but I'm hoping it's not going to the quilt inspector........I have called it at the heart of the matter......and I am hoping who ever gets it sees why !!
Sadly will count myself out of the 3rd swop as my first grandchild is due in May and my daughter wants patchwork quilts.....It will all be very neutral and as soon as it is born I will adding loads of blue or pink accessories....so a busy few months ahead. I'll try and do the 5th one.
Thanks Rhonda for organising.....Off to start my label now.

nancia 02-24-2013 08:46 AM

JuneBillie 02-24-2013 08:47 AM

JuneBillie 02-24-2013 08:49 AM

Nancia, they ALL match your colors and decor! LOL You can't have ALL of them....you only get one.

Little RoO 02-24-2013 11:40 AM

The baby is due on the 21st but my thoughts are it might be early....my daughter is tiny....just five feet tall and a good puff of wind would normally blow her over. Her bump is big and the baby is just the right size for the weeks.....but I'm not sure she will go another twelve weeks without popping! ....what is the betting that I am wrong and it ends up being a June baby?
Talking birth dates.....we have two daughters and a couple of years ago one of them happened to comment that did WE realise that they are born exactly 9 months after my husband and I have birthdays...literally within days (birthday 21st July daughter born 20th April birthday 28th October daughter born 11th August 2 weeks late and induced !!!!.....not a lot we could say really!

LOL Yep I heard but it is totally random! LOL

Rhonda 02-24-2013 12:04 PM

My dd was born 2 days after my birthday. her second child was born 3 days after her dad's(my dH) birthday. My son's one granddaughter was born 3 days after his birthday.

the funnniest for me is - twins run every third generation in my dad's family. so when my DiL and DD wer both pregnant at the same time I told htem they could have twins. they both decided they couldn't have twins as things in both their lives were busy and hectic enough. So they "passed" it down to my youngest son to be the one to have twins some day. He wasnt' even dating let alone married. 5 yrs later his wife had twin boys!! LOL

Just hope she has a good delivery with a healthy baby!! Of course I understand you won't be able to join in but maybe by the next time you will be able to again.

My dad has been in Heaven for 22 yrs now, I think of him every single day. We got married on my mom's birthday and my dad sang happy birthday to my mom in my ear as he walked me down teh aisle as he knew how nervous I was! LOL My son and his wife got married on May 16 my parents wedding anniversary. My youngest son got married the day before my birthday as it didn't work out on my day. I also found out my great grandparents also got married on Jan 19(our anniversary) only many years earlier of course LOL

nancia 02-24-2013 07:40 PM

one sister sang the bumble bee tuna song as she went down the aisle. the other was humming the current mcdonald's song. i got married at home in the living room and had to walk from my folks' bedroom. no time to sing! my dog was my bridesmaid, and my bff was the maid of honor. there were 25 people in all. my dh's b'day is april 29, we married on april 30, my b'day is may 3rd, then mother's day. i have mentioned every year (all 37) that i expect a nice present for each event, including his b'day. figure that will keep him in the groove. there's no such thing as too many gifts!!:D:thumbup:
