If anyone is having trouble writing on their fabric because it puckers and pulls - glue a piece of very fine sandpaper to a piece of wood or firm cardboard and put it under the fabric, this grips the fabric so it doesn't pucker as you write.

I don't think the date is neccessary the tag on the back of my quit will identify the date.
