I love the Carol of the Bells to hum along with & most any Christmas song by Michael Buble except I don’t like his Santa Buddy, I really like the regular old Santa Baby by any of the older female singers. Heck, I just love Christmas music in general. Way back, over 20 years ago I worked in a mill doing a very, very boring job & I used to sing Christmas carols to try to keep myself from falling face first on the plywood glue line. It was awful but good money back then, til I got pregnant with my first. He’s 28 now. Wow. That really was a long time ago.

My favorite song for the last 60 years has been 'I'll Be Home for Christmas' by Elvis......loved it since I was a teenybopper. :D

I am looking forward to this. My Secet Pal on another thread labeled mine “secret santa” so I had two boxes from Secret Santa and thought maybe it was sent from a business because of the address.

Anyway, It is put aside so I can enjoy the opening day with everyone. Quite exciting.

craftyjulz, I also love Carol of the Bells. One of our local radio stations has already started their all Christmas music format. Love it as they mix it up with songs from all eras so you really get a good variety. Oh and I just remembered -- because I always hear it once or twice on that station -- I adore Boris Karloff singing You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch! When that comes on I drop everything and just listen.

Christmas of 1990 is when I suffered a rupture anyerism in my brain. When I got out of the hospital, on the way home, the radio was on, and the first song I heard was “Grandma got run over by a Raindeer”. For me, my bestie, and my two DDs, that song just says Christmas to us. I wasn’t sure I would be coming home, so that song represents overcoming adversity, so I hear it hundreds of time during the Christmas season, because everyone I know has to call and play it over the phone for me, to remind me how lucky I am. As silly as that song is, in our group it has come to represent the Christmas miracle I was given. I have a small collection of animated stuffed animals that play the song, because everyone has decided that is the best gift for me. They now form a ring under my Christmas tree before Chritmas. Every child that enters my house gets to pick one to play. It keeps us humble and laughing every year. What kind of things officially say Christmas to you?

I got my SS box today :D .... UNFORTUNATELY, STUPID Postalcarrier set it in the RAIN! Yes I have pictures of the damage. NO I didn't peek, my daughter took the pictures and sent them to Terri to forward to my SS ... Seee... I'm being good :D

thinking about my favorite Xmas song. guess i would have to say Silent Night . I use to sing/hum it to my babies as a lullaby when they were little--even did so for some of my grandchildren also. The last time i sang it was in August 2005 at my oldest girl's funeral. I cry every time I hear it now.

Wow! You really went through it. I’m glad you’re still here to hear that song & can smile at life. Nowadays it’s almost like Halloween starts off the Christmas season & I don’t like that, it weakens the season I think when we get bombarded so early. Hearing the Salvation Army collection bells always signals the real Christmas season to me, even if I can only give small bits of change it’s that feeling of wanting to give that gets me.

Im so sorry for your loss. I don’t know how I’d ever recover if I lost one of my children. God bless you.
