For those of you who don’t know how to upload pictures here I thought I’d give you a quick tutorial on how so we could hopefully see more of these lovely packages everyone is opening. First off, I use a image hosting site to post my pictures.
-Go to tinypic.com & open a free account by hitting the Join Now! Up at the top right corner. Your photos will be available to anyone online to look at after you upload them through the site so be careful what you post.
-After you sign in there will be an upload videos & images page & a button for you to push that says “Choose file.” After hitting this navigate to your photo saved on your computer, cell phone, iPad or other device that you’re on & choose the image you want.
-If you want, you can type in “tags” for other people or you to be able to search for your picture later like “quiltingboard, quilting, Christmas presents, gifts” or any other thing you can think of. Make sure you separate each with a comma.
-Obvious keep the option on image instead of video or URL.
-The next most important step is that you must resize your picture for the forum site. This is a mandatory step & you can choose the message board size (normal), or the smaller website/email size.
-Now you hit “Upload Now!” & a new screen will load with your image and a list of several possible offerings to choose from.
-You want to copy the code line under “IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards” that starts with a squared paranthesis & IMG (I cant type the squared parathesis or the quilting board with think I’m trying to write code on here which is what you are doing when posting a picture).
-This whole line you’re going to come back onto the quilting board and paste into your reply, usually below what you type. You can do at least 2 images in one reply so you just go back & repeat the steps to get a second image code after you’ve done your first one (If you open a second window with the quiltingboard you can just paste your first code to the bottom of the reply box, go back & get your second code after that, then type up what you want to say after the codes are saved). I’ve had an error happen if trying to post a third image. And that’s it!!! TaDaaaaa! I hope this helps someone.

Good luck everyone & Happy Holidays!
Julz

Quite a haul. Thank you so much pyffer3, it is like you know me. Happy happy happy!

Wow Kelly, you made out like a bandit. I’m really jealous specifically so because you got that double diamonds ruler. I’ve had my eye on that for a long time after seeing how pretty the effect could be on the side of a table runner I saw made back in around 2010. There’s a small book or booklet out there too that shows you how to use it with patterns for it I believe. Anyway, lucky you!

Here is my haul from what I believe is my secondary Secret Santa, & our hostess, tlrnhi, aka Terri. Something happened with my original SS so our lovely hostess stepped in & sent me these:

This included a tiny butterfly notepad, a Christmas coaster, red fingertip grips for quilting, a tiny Ty beanie sausage dog, 10 red Cover clips, a flower with a center that has those filaments that glow different colors (my 2 yr old Granddaughter will want that), a clear vinyl zipper pouch, Clover flower frill templates, a Sew WANDerful magnet, & a pack of Jelly Bellies.

This picture is for the fabrics of which she sent 4 separate yards of colorful batiks.

Thank you so much Terri. You were so generous especially with having to do this as extra! Merry Christmas!

I opened my awesome package from kwyltaholic earlier today, since I don't have camera capability, I will try to do justice to my package. There were several lovely handmade ornaments, four FQ's of orange fabric for a future project I am planning, a wall hanging pattern that makes me smile. A bag of my favorite Ghirardelli dark chocolate sea salt caramel squares. A small double mirror which can be used as a magic mirror. There was also a package of Jack Link's Peppered, seasoned and smoked beef steak strips -- notice, I said was -- I snacked on them already. A magnetic calendar and notepad. Several travel packs of Republic of Tea (my favorite that will go with me to UFO days.) Thank you kwyltaholic for a wonderful Secret Santa package. Aurora

So many wonderful items sent, I am making a list of ideas for next year's SS. When the time comes to assemble the package, I am always at a loss for ideas. There are so many wonderful packages full of ideas. I will save my list in my Secret Santa file so I will no lose it before next year.

So much fun seeing everyone's goodies! In case anyone needs it here's how I post a photo:

I open the photo in a photo edit program -- my computer has "Paint" on it. I crop it and then re-size for the QB. I made a note a long time ago that says this is a max of 640 pixels wide x 440 pixels deep. Then I save the edited photo to my desktop.

I start typing a quick reply here as usual. In the bar right above this typing box you'll see a yellow smiley face. To the right of that is a box with other icons -- the third one over is a picture of a tree. Click on that and you'll be able to upload your picture. Click on "browse", select the photo you've saved to your desktop, then click "Upload".

Your photo will look smaller, but right below this typing box, you'll see the blue "Go Advanced". Click it to see your message with photo as it will really look. From that page you can either edit or post your message.

Hope this helps!

I forgot about opening day, I put my package away and forgot all about opening day. I got busy with the holidays.

But I have to say, I think my SS is a mind reader. I had a package fill with lots of my favorite goodies. I LOVE everything in my gift. Thank you Kathy Mausehund. Wonderful surprises.
