Ok, everyone.
I forget to let you know, that I'm playing this year.
Yep! Had an "oops" happen, so I inserted myself into being someone's Secret Santa!
Hmmm.....I wonder WHO the lucky person is!
Is it you? You? or You?
Don't know do ya!
Guess ya'll will have to wait and see!!!!
Bahahahahahaha!

Today the thing my secret santa person wanted most is coming in the mail. I am gathering everything together to post next week. She will have that package sitting there waiting, waiting, waiting until we open.

Oh, When is the scheduled opening in December usually scheduled? Is it around mid-December?

roseirish48 11-06-2023 06:03 PM

tlrnhi 11-06-2023 07:19 PM

Everyone needs to come to a consensus to when opening day will be.

I have a few more items to pick up locally this week, and then everything should be ready as I got a lovely package from the fabric shop with the kind of fabric they like.

m-fay 11-08-2023 03:36 PM

I also picked up a couple of small things from her list yesterday. I hope to find her most wanted in the next couple of days.

Annaquilts 11-11-2023 11:37 AM

I picked some goodies up at the stores but now I am also waiting on the mail to bring the items to complete the box. This year's recipient wants some of the same items as last year's recipient. Once it is all here I will need to wrap the items and see if I can get it all in a large postal box. It is a lot of fun to make a box for my receiver.

m-fay 11-11-2023 04:02 PM

I'm having a lot of trouble finding my persons most wanted. I can't get it online because it wouldn't arrive here in time to post it on.however I have been finding next best so I know she'll still be happy.

tlrnhi 11-13-2023 08:03 AM

I'm sure your person will love everything you send

lots of fun

This is the first time I've participated in Secret Santa. I'm having lots of fun! I've made a couple of things that I hope my receiver will like. I will pack it all up and send it on it's way later this week...

Darcyshannon 11-13-2023 10:26 AM

My package received

I have already received my package- have to hide it so there is no peeking- and not just by me-lol

quiltingdragon 11-14-2023 09:03 PM

I've got a date with a friend on Friday to journey to a further away but still local spot for one last thing my pal wanted, and getting everything else wrapped up and ready to go so it can go out right after I procure that.

UPS sent me a note that I have a package on the way that is due to arrive tomorrow, and who it was from - but I'm not telling and promise to act surprised on opening day!

Annaquilts 11-15-2023 12:46 AM

I just finnished up an item my secret pal wanted. I wasn't sure if I should cry or laugh. So I watched a video on how to make it. I had the pattern. Well I am a quilter and not a seamstress. The video was about 5 minutes long with happy music playing on. I do not know how many times I watched the video. I was finally done and excited to turn it. Well I had sewn it shut. This is when its first surgery happened. After that, it had two more surgeries but now it is done.

michelle-quilts 11-15-2023 05:20 AM

some of the same..

Anna,
I've had some of the same issues with an item I am making. Honestly, it almost went out with the trash yesterday...but I decided to give it (and me) one more chance... LOL

Annaquilts 11-15-2023 09:54 AM

Michelle-quilts I hear you girl. I do think home made sewn goodies are the best. Next time I will not choose such ambitious project but pick something in my skill level and comfort zone. Time to wrap the goodies, shut the box and make sure it goes on Santa's Sled, aka postal truck.

michelle-quilts 11-15-2023 11:05 AM

wrap items individually?

Hi all,

Do you wrap some or all of the items in the package individually or just put everything in the bag/box and send it along? Just curious...

Thanks!

I think it is sweet when some of the items are wrapped. I have done both.

tlrnhi 11-15-2023 02:42 PM

You can wrap them individually if you want.
Makes them work for finding what's inside. :)

My package went out yesterday, such a fun time, now I have to wait another year. I cannot wait for opening day.

roseirish48 11-16-2023 02:51 PM

surprise,,,surprise. mailman delivered a package yesterday i wasnt expecting to receive so soon. Now i am honor bound to not open til opening day---and that could be over a month away. I may need to sit it out in the naughty hole.

I will be mailing out to my secret santa this weekend

LogCabin82 11-16-2023 06:40 PM

My package went out today! :)

roseirish48 11-17-2023 06:14 PM

package mailed today.
now to devote my time to meeting all these deadlines i have set for myself
1. quilt for BFF hopefully done by the 21st--about 2/3rds quilted
2. complete embroidery on 5 pair of pillowcases to go with it ( all have butterfly theme as is her favorite)
3. finish cutting sewing and layering quilt for neighbor so it can go on frame soon as other one done--neighbor says he will make me as many rosetta cookies i want in exchange for quilt( he makes some for me every year)
4. embroider turtle themed pillowcases for other BFF ( he likes turtles and Betty Boop--gave her Betty Boop ornaments last year)
i may need about 6 more pairs of hands

LogCabin82 11-18-2023 07:58 AM

Tlrnhi did you get my tracking number? The forum kept logging me out as I was trying to send you a message?

quiltingdragon 11-18-2023 08:12 AM

@tlrnhi The forum isn't letting me send personal messages at all right now, it keeps logging me out!
My package from my pal arrived.
I'm frantically wrapping the last bits and getting ready to go to the PO and hoping the website listed hours for dropoff are correct. I'll send a tracker as soon as it will allow me to!

I've got two swaps to go out for two groups, so wrapping in different paper has saved my bacon so I don't mix things up!

michelle-quilts 11-18-2023 11:13 AM

on its way

My package went out this morning! Now I’ve got to get back to other projects…. after household chores of course.

I was so proud of myself for starting on quilted Christmas gifts early (like September) this year and thought I was doing well. Hard to believe Christmas is soooo close though…

Happy sewing all!

KathyM 11-18-2023 07:39 PM

Received SS box today, put it away.

tlrnhi 11-18-2023 08:48 PM

I got it. No worries

We had a Friendsgiving on Saturday and today we put up the Christmas tree. I am ready for Christmas. (-: I feel energized to work on some items and plan to make some cookies too. I am glad my package did not arrive yet because I am the worst in wanting to peak. I guess my secret Santa knows. This year my girls are not home to snatch and hide the package. If it comes in I will need to put it under the tree and be good.

michelle-quilts 11-20-2023 06:02 PM

package arrived

There was a package on my doorstep this afternoon. Since I'm not expecting anything else, I'll assume it's from my Secret Santa. Ohhh...so tempting to open it...but I didn't...

Annaquilts 11-20-2023 06:38 PM

LOL Michelle, you and I. Mine also arrived. Now to patiently wait.

tlrnhi 11-20-2023 08:06 PM

Remember....no peeking!!!

Annaquilts 11-20-2023 09:16 PM

Hahaha.....

m-fay 11-21-2023 04:13 AM

Ppsted

I posted my package out yesterday and I have tracking on it. They told me 6 to 8 working days to delivery but I won't hold my breathe. I hope it arrives in time for opening day though.

Goatmom 11-21-2023 08:11 AM

Good Morning,
My daughter and I both received our packages yesterday.

Thank you,
