This cookie recipe came from another student when I was in school. They were so good that I begged for the recipe.

Chocolate Crinkles

1/2 cup Shortening
1 2/3 cups Granulated sugar
2 teaspoons Vanilla

2 large Eggs

2 1 ounce Melted unsweetened chocolate squares

2 cups Flour
2 teaspoons Baking powder
1/2 teaspoon Salt

1/3 cup Milk

1/2 cup Chopped walnuts, Optional

1. Thoroughly cream shortening, sugar and vanilla
2. Beat eggs into creamed sugar mixture
3. Beat in melted chocolate to creamed sugar mixture
4. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt
5. Alternately add milk and flour mixture to the creamed sugar mixture
6. Add chopped nuts
7. Chill dough for 3 hours
8. Form one inch balls
9. Roll each ball in confectioner's sugar
10. Place onto greased cookie sheet 2 to 3 inches apart
11. Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees F.

Note: These are a crisp cookie, check to make sure they are done before removing from oven.

I'm still sewing for my Secret Santa - she wants handmade items.

mmm those cookies all sound good!! great idea-will have to dig in my recipe box for a couple of my favorites. Still working on my box. Don't have much energy so it is slow going but hopefully my SS will enjoy it.

Actually, it's probably ME! If it does go to you, it's probably just a mistake, so you can just forward it to me.

Ooops! Am I still posting too much? :p :D

I am enjoying reading the chatter. No way I could keep up reading every word but there is just a lot of live & fun floating in the air. Things would be way too quiet here without Princess Smarty Pants- oops- that should be Empress Smarty Pants.
I could mail my box but keep finding bargains that are too tempting. But I will get it mailed on time. Hint to my SS- you're less tham 22 miles from me as the crow flies.
I'm one of the true GRITS & we call all soft drinks "coke".- doesn't matter what it is. I grew up mostly in Chattanooga where my grandparents lived & we had the CocaCola bottling plant there so maybe that's why.
the Crack-er cookie is one I've been meaning to make for a long while, maybe this season.
