Grammys,my prayers are with you and your Husband, take care of yourselves!

juneayerza 10-19-2014 03:05 PM

I'm out of the hole for 5 minutes and Terri throws all of us back in! I just want to explain what happened since in my drugged up state I went and posted about it.
It has been a scary few days since last Friday for me and it is still uncertain what the outcome will be. Two AM Friday I had pain like I've never experienced before in my right eye which kept increasing significantly by each second until I had fluid flood out of it.
Fortunately we are only 15 minutes from the hospital and once we got there I was taken in right away. An old scar I had on my eye opened up and all the fluid in my eye drained out. I had zero pressure in my eye and an ophthalmologist was called and got me into surgery at 6:45 AM.
Right now I have no vision out of the eye, but it is still very swollen and only time will tell if I get it back. Of course I’m scared, but it will be what it will be and I will make to best of it as I can. Pretty sure I will be a pirate for Halloween this year though.

Rennie 10-19-2014 03:08 PM

So sorry about your situation, grammyj.

marilyn43 10-19-2014 03:11 PM

Grammyj, I'm so sorry to hear of this news. I'll be praying for you and your husband. God Bless you.

Rennie 10-19-2014 03:12 PM

grammyj - thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband.

tlrnhi 10-19-2014 03:14 PM

Grammyj...thoughts and prayers with you and your hubby.

June....why did you go and do that? Sheesh...leave you for a few minutes and see what you do? I sure hope all will be ok.
Hugs to all!

CookyIN 10-19-2014 03:17 PM

June, I'll keep you in my prayers for your sight to be regained. Glad you got the proper care so quickly.

Good gracious! I can't even begin to imagine how frightening that must have been! You'll definitely be in my prayers! {{{{{{{ June }}}}}}}

Ok, this weeks game is over.
We have a winner!!
Only one person guessed right.
Another person came close. She had the right manufacturer, but not the model.
Ya'll will have to wait until the winner gets her prize to find out who it is.
She knows who she is because I told her, but she'll reveal when she receives.

So, ya wanna know what I'm getting?

I'm getting the Babylock Destiny

Rennie 10-19-2014 03:25 PM

Just saw the hint about the state capitol - it must be ME!!! I live in the capitol city and the actual capitol building is only a few miles from me. Now I forgot who gave the hint! Oh, how the mind works - or doesn't! June, hang in there. My SIL had surgery on her eye for a leakage recently, and she got her sight back within about a month.

I just thought I would post a big hint. I looked at my SS recipient's picture and she looks like a girly girl, so I made my first ever mug rug for her. Are you a girly girl? If so, is it you? I'm not telling. Pardon the pictures, things tend to get wonky when I hand stitch the binding down.

Dear SS,

I know that I had quite a long list of likes (and dislikes), but if you are
still stumped as to ideas for me, I just thought of another item that could
really be useful.

It is the Darice Hotfix Crystal Applicator Tool. I have one.......somewhere
but for the life of me I can't seem to figure out where it is hiding at.

I went to Michael's (3 different stores), 2 different Joann's looking for one
no stock at ANY of these stores.

Here is a link to what I am looking for.

Darice Crystal Applicator Tool

Thank you in advance.

Mdall is hosting the ornament swap this year she just sent me a pm with the names of the two people i get to send ornaments to. they are both on this swap also. Bad enough that i havent mailed my ss box out--i keep adding more things---but the mailing date for this swap is also mailing date for the ornament swap. i need to get busy or neither will get their gifts in time. maybe if my ss stops posting about things she woulddlike or could use, i could eventually get this box in the mail?

JAGSD 10-19-2014 03:58 PM

Just read thru two days of post....Whew! Love the excitement!! Is it Time to reveal yet? Lol. My SS box is ready to send.... It belongs to someone with a y in their name....and lives east of here...... Now I'm off to the hole to enjoy some relaxation. I have remembered to bring my lounge chair and skittles, and maybe some wine....

sewbizgirl 10-19-2014 04:01 PM

I'm so sorry about your eye, June. Hope you are feeling better now and can keep the pain managed until it heals. Also pray your vision returns with no problem.

I just finished wrapping up each gift and stuffing my priority flat rate box! Only room for a small handful of packing peanuts in there, to fill in the tiny gaps. I will wait and leave it on the shelf until we are supposed to mail our packages. Don't want to tempt my "pal" too much with an early box. I had fun collecting and making for her...hope she likes what I'm sending.

Hint: My "pal" lives south of the Mason/Dixon line, just like me!

catjo 10-19-2014 04:29 PM

Wow, a lot of you have your packages all ready to go. I have a few things picked out and ready to stuff, but not a lot. My pal didn't list a lot. So I will get a little creative I guess.
Hint: Lives in the same state as I do.

I am way behind on reading the posts so I am going to try to read and get caught up on some tonight. Don't forget to put the jingle bells in your packages. lol

Patchesnposies 10-19-2014 04:36 PM

June, how frightening that must have been for you and I am amazed at your attitude about it! Did your blood pressure go up or did you exert yourself somehow? Praying for your sight to be returned to you!

paintmejudy 10-19-2014 05:06 PM

Me! ME ! ME! If you have me, this woud be wonderful!
(But I love snowmen, too.)

It measures 3-1/2 x 5-1/4. I put a pin mechanism on the back, so it could be worn as a large brooch or attached to a pillow or large bag -- or with a ribbon looped through the top of the mechanism, it could be used as an ornament. I've got mine displayed on a wicker basket using a ribbon through the pin back.

I wonder if my Santee would like one...

Rennie, that's so good to hear! Thank you for telling me that.
Who knows what caused it, some times things just give way. Old scars can do that some times. I did give myself a pity party and that's when I sent myself to the hole.

ljs317 10-19-2014 05:37 PM

Ding dang it!! I didn't guess the right machine.

So sorry about your eye I hope and pray all will be ok.

So sorry about your husband.

My SS lives somewhere south.

I'm in the hole with my tea, lounge chair and a big bowl of popcorn relaxing. I just finished making ten ten minute table runners. I just have to say ten minutes my butt! It took me all day what the heck. It seems like everything takes me forever. They are for a special dinner we are having at work a "thanks a latte " theme for volunteers. They are coffee fabrics. I really hate coffee even the smell makes me queezy. Oh well it's for a good cause.

Everyone have a terrific evening.

Hmmm... is it me? I thought I listed quite a bit, but maybe...

Prayers for you. Hopefully this thread will give you a little cheer and strength.

I have had a busy weekend. Finished my younger sons senior quilt I am donating to school for fall festival auction. My eldest son gave us great news, going to be a first time grandmother! I have 7 step grands but this is my first! I have been so busy working on this senior quilt that I have not had much time to gather SS items. I did get a very nice tea cup and saucer. I have picked up some odds and ends. Need to get some GA pecans. The material has been ordered and is on the way. Has been a fun project!

PenniF 10-19-2014 07:08 PM

June...you and GrammyJ will be SO much in my thoughts. The strength that comes through in your posts is humbling.....and it reminds me to appreciate my blessings more. Hugs sent to you both.

Made this wrap around potholder, wonder if my santee will like it????

btw, I only have one 2x18 ruler, so any rulers that ended up in my box, new or used, would be appreciated. Someone, somewhere mentioned rulers, so I thought I'd put my two cents worth in.

PeginCO 10-19-2014 09:00 PM

June, what a scary experience! Praying for you to find answers and regain your sight fully.

Jamimclaugh 10-19-2014 09:45 PM

Beautiful potholder, maybe its me?? I am about 100+ pages.behind on a half vroken phone so i will never catch up, but here is to moving.forward :) been working on lots of crochet hats for my girls and a few other friends and family children, bit this week i will foxus on my ss! Hint, she.didnt tell me much, so creativity is a must! Now what to make you?

IrishgalfromNJ 10-20-2014 02:33 AM

Wow, Terri, that is some serious sewing machine. I never even thought of a Babylock. I was stuck on the Brother name for some reason.

Sending prayers for all the folks with health problems.

I would love to see more of what people are making for their partners. It's fun to see what it is being sent.

SheriR 10-20-2014 04:21 AM

Oh I would love that pot holder! And I'd love a crocheted hat!!! But I'd love LOVE that Babyloc!!!! .....I didn't mention those items in my info....I wonder if I gave my SS enough to work with..... :D

tlrnhi 10-20-2014 04:40 AM

I honestly wasn't going to buy the Destiny. I was looking at the Ellisimo Gold 2 since it was on sale for 1/2 of what it retails for. I went to a dealer, ordered one, then found out they weren't making any more. So...once the dealer found out and told me they didn't know about it, the owner of the shop offered me a price I couldn't refuse, PLUS 0% financing.

I made a pincushion for my Santee. It's the Cathedral Window pattern from Moda Bake shop. She loves Moda (who doesn't???) so thought I'd use some charm squares from the Lario collection. It's my first go at this pattern and might make another better one. I ended up making a yo-yo for the center because I didn't have any buttons large enough to cover the center (another reason to make another one).

Ditto. Prayers go out to you. We all really need to give thanks for all we do have. So I'll take this time to thank all of you for just being. Now if I could just have a little more room in the hole I will do fine. I think that I will just bring my digger and make the hole bigger. BrendaK

Just finished reading thru the thread...WOW there is sure alot going on!! I'm keeping my positive thoughts hat on and praying for safekeeping for all.

I just wanted to say how very cute this potholder is. What a wonderful gift.

My next clue for my SS is, your town is approx. 400 times smaller than my town. But I am not really very good at math so... :)

Just finished catching up on days worth of chatter here. Lots of fun.
Thoughts & prayers for those having health issues.
Terri- What a great machine. I love my Babylock but it's not that one. When they came out with that I watched the trailer & it looks wonderful.

Hint to my SS- You live in the south like me & I think we're the same age. HaHa
