I have been keeping up with all the posts, but have not been
doing much posting this week. This work week started out crazy for me, and for some reason just can't seem to get "with it" of course my oldest daughter hasn't helped much with her taking a fall Monday afternoon on the stairs (she is 15 weeks pregnant). At least she got a clean bill of health (other than being pregnant) by the E.R. doctors, so that is a HUGE relief for her and the "apple" to be good after that, but shesh they added some years to my life. Dear Santee I am HOPING to get my box in the mail by the end of next week. Am sending it to my friend who will in turn be mailing it to you as she lives in the same state as you do. Yes I KNOW that is an added expense buy it is worth it. |

Today My Receiver ~~ I have gotten something sewn & sandwiched. I'm hoping to have finished before next Monday. I did pick up one of the items that you collect and I have seen a couple items that you collect that I will have to pick a little later in the week. I have another thing or two that I'm considering. I will have better idea where I stand once the weekend comes around. But worry not my friend you will have a box that you would be most proud to receive.
So many things could be for me as I look at all the pretty home made items. The person's getting these lovelies are most blessed indeed. And the weather has me thinking of cookie baking. Which reminds me I need some dried cranberries. LOL. Although I must confess I'm kinda wishing for some Peeps. Peeps can be considered to be a soft food .... right? Well I must head back to the sewing machine so that I can continue onto the list I have been making & tracking. Wishes of Blessing, Health & Friendships to all of us. GrammyJ, I found out yesterday morning that my mother's cancer has come back as well, and that is what caused all of the blood clots that landed her in the hospital. Don't know if it is new ovarian or breast cancer that came back and has moved, will know more when the rest of the scans are in. She's been stuck in the hospital for 11 days, and is more than ready to come home! Will pray for your husband. This is the third time we've been through this in my family (Mom in 2003, Dad in 2013, and now Mom again) so I have to have genetic testing and other things.
Going to work in the evenings to get my homemade stuff done so I can get my box off to my Santee before we start the chemo regime! Clue: My partner lives somewhere in the same region I do! |

I got Christmas fabric in my box last Christmas and used it for my quilt this year . . . that isn't done yet . . . but close.

sorry didnt get to post ofice today like i had planned. box is packed and all ready to go but i got busy working on my ornament swap projects(read tearing it out and redoing more times than i like). hopefully tomorrow will go better.
i am an animal lover--4 dog(not all mine), one cat, one guinea pig (also nt mine) and 2 corn snakes (definitely not mine). bad enough when they got loose last year and gave me heart palpitations when i found one on the toilet and the other on the clothes dryer. eeewwwww!!!!! |
Sometimes trying to be sneaky backfires on me.... (grin). I gave my SS package to my brother to mail - I think it was last week - 'cause he lives in a nearby town and I thought that would confuse. Come to find out he forgot to mail it, so when he was here yesterday, I "Recovered' it from his car back seat. But that gave me a chance to add something else, so I hope to mail it MYSELF tomorrow. Oh, well.....

To my SS partner (wish I had posted this before): Please do not spend any money sending me treats/candy/drink mixes, etc...I have so many food and additive issues that it would be a waste of your money. Sorry that I did not think to post this earlier.

SO many really cute / clever things being shown....Love that snowman wall hanging...and Sulabug - i would do a happy dance if i opened a box with those items in it.....OR the table runner.....Wow !!! Think i'll put some things together and take a "what could it be photo"...hmmmmmm?????

:D :D :D :D All the hand made gifts are so wonderful. I make pot holders for myself and my daughters, have for years. Wouldn't you know it, I have been working on the same pot holders for the last three days! I can't get the binding right. I just removed the binding from them once again. I will try one more time and Santee if I can't get it right this time then off to something else. My thoughts and prayers to those in Canada. I have family living there, haven't heard from them, probably today. |

When I first viewed the items I was on a laptop that evidently was tilted wrong -- and the glare made me think "how in the world did she frame whatever that is with that wood ?" Now that I am back on MY computer, I see these lovely items and think -- I WANT THEM! They are really really pretty, SulaBug.

As for my Receiver.... I went digging in my bins in storage for some pretty winter prints to make you some of this and some of those after I had injections in both knees this morning. Now having done that ~ the ideas really started to tumble out. I'm hoping to have a couple things made before next Monday when I go under the knife. Crossing my fingers.... :eek: Tricia |
This S.S. just keeps getting more fun and exciting! I'm still working on my homemade gift for my S.S.. It's endless with all the ideas everyone come up with. My gift probably won't get mailed until 1rst week in Nov. I'm wondering where you ladies come up with your ideas. This is the first S.S. or Christmas swap of any kind. I will be making items for next year after the first of the year. I've seen so many items that I'd like to make but no time now as I have to finish items for family and friends. I have to say this has been so much fun. I want so bad to give some hints to my ss, but at times I talk without thinking. I really do have to be careful because it wouldn't take much and I think my s.s. might get a clue. when people have these special likes, it's dangerous. Happy quilting everyone.
