That's just what I was thinking - my box is from the suburb just north of me. It could even be someone I bumped into (literally!) during our August shop hop. Wouldn't that be crazy?! Can't wait to open! :)

Hi Ladies, here is a link to the November Project of the month, for this year. This is posted on the Block of the Month thread, so take a look if you like & you can look at all of the projects posted for this year. Have fun & enjoy!! My Secret Santee has a couple things that I made in her package & I hope she likes them!!

Whoo Hooo got my SS package yesterday!!! Thank you very much Secret Santa! It is safe and sound in my sewing room-after being sniffed really well by my cats :)

Hi all !

Trish add me to you monthly gift idea list what a great idea!

No SS box yet but there is still a lot of time left.

I love to read the SS posts and I am always disappointed when I get to the last post. I always want more.

ha, ha! That's funny - me, too.

and I would also like to be on the monthly gift idea list....fantastic thought! I have several projects I can share...,just need a little motivation and this might provide it.

I have had my box for a couple of weeks. It sits on the chest as I go into my 'mom cave'. I pat it, shake it, lift it (and yes Nessie, I even tried to smell it once) everyday. It appears to be taped really well....no loose edges yet! I am so excited for December 7. I want to have all my current projects done so I can start playing with my new presents! Thank you SS. The torment is killing me!

My SS box is still sitting in the living room, waiting patiently. Like many others, my SS apparently lives not terribly far from me! :)

Anoka Quilter 11-18-2014 07:32 AM

I find it interesting that so many of us had SS from our area. My SS was in MN and I received my SS box from another member in MN.

MN quilters, if you would like to get together for a meet up PM me and I will organize something. I think it would be fun to get together with everyone.

It's good and bad... GOOD, as far as making a new quilting friend you might be able to actually meet up with, and BAD, as far as shopping from the same sources your partner already has.

My own SSee's FQs came from Thousands of Bolts. Her main gift came from Amazon.com. Odds and ends came from Hobby Lobby and one item came from WalMart. A few things came from my stash. Whether she's in TX or clear across the country, we may have basically the same sources. :D

(croak croak scratch scratch)

Oh no!!! I wandered in to a place that promises to distract me to no ends!!!

I was reading my emails like I always do, when I came to the JoAnn's email... where I scrolled down to find free craftsy classes. So I shrugged my shoulders and ventured in.... huge mistake huge !!! I was pulled in against my will and now I can't find my way out. I wish I was able to obtain a few of them but it's probably a good thing I can't!!! LOL. I can "research" all I want without getting to trouble. Does any use the Craftsy patterns? Did you like Them? Tell me all about it.

Tricia

Oh excitement grows! I received a package today from a secret Santa! Thank you in advance... It was kind of heavy for the size.... Hmmmmm, I put it on top of my bookshelf in the sewing room so I won't lose track of it before opening day but it won't be ( in my face) tempting me. :)

Neesie 11-18-2014 09:46 AM

Tricia, I ventured into Thousands of Bolt, looking for a few pieces of green for a little boy's quilt. Several hours later . . . . :p

Ok....got a really sweet thank you card from my SSantee today. She did get her box, and has already opened it....hey, i figure it's her present so she can open it if she wants.

However, since she very very rarely posts anywhere on the Board....and so many of us are just SO wanting to see what's inside our boxes.....don't think she'd mind if i teased all of you with a pic of what i sent her......... ONLY 462 HOURS TIL OPENING TIME !!

Bamagal 11-18-2014 10:44 AM

Sooooo Excited! I received my gift today!! The postal elves worked overtime as it came last night way after dark! Safe and sound now!! Thanks so much!

marilyn43 11-18-2014 10:49 AM

These gifts are all so neat. Love it.

What an awesome gift, you sent to your Secret Santee! It's a shame she didn't wait until the group party and proper date, before opening it. :(

SulaBug 11-18-2014 11:37 AM

PenniF...............what a lovely assortment of gifts you sent to your Secret Santee. I am sure that she is very proud of them too. Thanks you for sharing with all of us today.

If she is not on the board very often she may not be aware of the opening day..... But I do agree with you, is is a shame that she did not wait till the day. Half the fun is now going to be teasing everyone about the packages that are staring at us calling our names with temptation. "open me......open me......open meeeeeeeeeeeeee

IrishgalfromNJ 11-18-2014 11:52 AM

Neesie, I love all the homemade goodies you sent with your SS gifts. Lots of beautiful purple in that picture.

I stashed my SS gift box in a big plastic box with a lid so I can't hear it whispering to me, tempting me to be bad. I also put it in there to keep it away from the kitties. They think all my cardboard boxes are there for them to sharpen their claws. They can tear up a box in a hurry.

hav4boys 11-18-2014 11:56 AM

My gift is sitting on my dresser in my bedroom teasing me. I walk by it at least 6 times a day and I swear I see the big Santa on the side sticking his tongue out at me.

Those were PenniF's lovely pictures of the wonderful things she sent to her Secret Santa-ee. Sadly, my own offering looks rather sad, by comparison.

Yeah, mine is sitting behind my chair. I think it pokes me in the back every now and then. lol

Please don't say that Neesie....everything but the $20 spent and the FQs came from makings from my stash / craft room. Believe it or not... the tea cup i used for the pin cushion (an idea stolen from someone else on the Board) is from a dozen i have left from the DD's shower favors when she got married 14 years ago !!! I NEVER throw anything away... I once made an American Indian costume for my DD's Barbie out of a fake suede skirt i wore in high school that was in a box in the attic.

........hmmmmm wonder if that's why i can't ever get that room organized or cleaned????

quilt addict 11-18-2014 12:26 PM

According to the tracking website, the package has arrived at my giftee's house. I hope she finds it before the snow starts falling tonight. I don't miss that cold weather.

CookyIN 11-18-2014 12:48 PM

Penni, I swear to goodness your package could have been custom-made for me! I'm sure your Santee was very happy!! Good thing you took a photo; I didn't so hope my Santee can post pictures. It's always such fun sharing what we received on Opening Day.

PenniF are we related??? Unless the fabric is less than 1/2 wide it doesn't get tossed. I have found over the years that as soon as I get rid of something I need it. I have just gotten better at not bringing stuff into the house.

I think my box is conspiring with the envelopes from the ornament exchange, I keep hearing open me,open me, open me, open me and it is getting louder.

This is my first Secret Santa how does opening day work? We just all start posting and sharing pictures at the appointed hour? I forgot to take pictures of my SS's package too. So I hope she will!

Yes, at the appointed time we all rip into... er, I mean open... our packages. Then those who can, take pictures and post. It's so much fun seeing what everyone gets. Almost as much fun as opening your own package, since you get to enjoy everyone's vicariously.

KGoodhand 11-18-2014 02:16 PM

Woohoo !!!! I got my package!! Came from Saskatchewan Canada!! I have put it away in the closet for safe keeping!!! Thank you in advance! I can hardly wait to open it!!!

ShelleyCS 11-18-2014 02:31 PM

Ok so, my parcel felt like a box and a long envelope in a mailing envelope, and there was just this little opening on the end of the envelope, and it accidently got caught on my little finger, and it sort of accidently opened . . .to reveal . . .

A wrapped box and a long white envelope. *sigh*

waiting patiently for December 7th . . .

TO THE HOLE WITH YOU IMMEDIATELY !!!!!.....and NO Cabana Boy service for at least.......ummmmm .... an hour.

Dedemac 11-18-2014 02:41 PM

Since December 7th is Pearl Harbor day should we open them when it's noon in the islands? That would be 5pm on the east coast of the states.

Judylee2 11-18-2014 03:02 PM

My box is taunting meeeeeeeeeeee!
