3 must be the lucky number! 3 more packages today.
Pattis47 quiltinghere (Thank you!) Joyce Ann (Thank you!) Can't wait to start swapping them out. |
A few more swaps and hopefully we'll have something similar to this.
http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-145610-1.htm Great job Crafty1! |
I'm cutting 66 sets. Committed to 54, so I still have 12 sets available. PM me # of sets (max is 8 for me) and your address if interested. The muffin tins are working great. I bought 6 2pks. and I'm using the empty one as a topper.
BTW, I'm 19% done, so don't think "she'll never finish." They will not be in a pretty little stack, but loose in a baggie. #1, that's a lot of fussy work. #2, I discovered when sorting my rec'd spring swaps, those carefully stacked stacks are hard to sort, got to fiddle with them. Happy Stamping! :P |
Glad you received mine, can't wait for the returned stamps. :)

I'm cutting today!

I've actually reached the end of cutting new fabrics! If I do more swaps (which I want to do) I will have to purchase new fabrics so that you all won't have lots of duplicates! Although I think I will have enough of the neutrals so I'm good there!

JoAnn's has a sale going on. Go, go, go!
|
I went to JoAnn's yesterday for the sale. They had some good clearances too!!!! They even have 50% off on some flowers. I got some nice fall colored pip berries.
|
karen there are always new people who join the swaps so your fabrics will be new to someone. i always try to cut at least half new fabrics for each swap. i'm trying not to accumulate a whole new stack of something else so repeat swappers will get some repeats from me. i have made a promise to myself not to purchase anymore new fabrics (just for the sake of purchasing) until i start sewing through some of the stuff i have.
also i do a lot of remnant purchasing up to half yards but a lot of quarter yards for the swaps. it's less expensive that way and after cutting the stamp strips i cut the rest in 2.5" strips so very little waste for me. i haven't reached the end of my fabrics yet. i have some amy butlers and a coupla michael millers that i cannot bear to cut into yet. maybe next time.

I always hit the clearance section at JAnn's. Sometimes I find fq's there for like .79 and up. But not the full price of $1.99 I'm always up for a good bargain! |
Not long now until we get some new postage stamps to work with. I can't hardly wait.

k Ladies, need some help here
For the ladies that use the little jewelry bags - how in the world do you get the squares in the bag? I have to fold them and have a hard time straightening them out. Do you leave them folded in the bag? |
you probably got the really small bags. you will want to straighten them as much as possible as it will help with shipping them.

I use the lil ziploc snack bags, so that I have room to add a label to it as well.

I am 40% cut & stacked. Let's see that is 20 cut, 66 muffin tins, 1320 ready.  I am doing 55 (to cover accidental duplicates, oopsies, and miscounts), so 2310 to go. In case you are going, wha???... My quilt is 10x12 blocks of 8x8, so 7680. At the 20 set swap rate it would take me 2 years to gather my blocks. Once I started the blocks, I was loving them so much, I didn't want to wait that long. |
Wow, I really need to get started. Mine are still in the envelopes they were mailed in.
Almost forgot, only one squishie today from Crqltr. :P |
I use the Press n Seal for my bags! Works wonderful!
I've discovered though that with all the swaps that I've done, the extras from each that I've cut and this one, that I will likely have enough for my quilt! I think I'll get in on the neutral swap just to have the contrast. |
quiltmouse there are so many members collecting 1.5" squares you can probably do an open offer to trade posting on the board similar to what tealfalcon just did and find plenty of people willing to trade with you. you will have 7000+ different pieces of 1.5" fabric in no time. your only limitations will be how many squares you cut for trading.

twisted i just started separating mine by color and bagging each color. i also am pruning those that are cut less than 1.5" or the fabric is too thin for my use and into a scrap baggie they go for a future pif.
crafty1 completed her ps quilt in record time (1 month or less) and has inspired me to at least look at my squares and think about getting started. the first step was to take them out of the bags they came in. :P in separating the blocks from previous swaps, i found that there are not a lot of neutral, white or light background colored pieces so i will probably be looking to participate in the neutral swap once i see what the requirements are.

mary I posted in tealfalcon's thread & got two more swappers. I still have 4 sets of 50 available. 51% done cutting & sorting into the muffin cups. Getting full, time to transfer them to baggies. I bought 100 3" charms on ebay, cut all in half, so that's 400 more. I bought a 5" charm pack of batiks, so that's 9x40 more. With this swap, and my side swaps, I only need another 2200 or so stamps. Course, I may need more due to color needs. We shall see. I'm not sewing my blocks right now, focusing on swap prep. |
Received package from Shelrox today...woot, woot! :P
|
quiltmouse what type quality is the fabric and how accurate are you able to get your 1.5" cuts from the 3" charms? i bought several precut fabric squares from ebay a while back and i wasn't pleased with the quality of the fabric. some of it was obviously too thin for quilting. just wondering.
i may try some of the 4" squares next swap. i like to cut my 1.5" just a tittle (combo tiny & little) bit larger. mary

I am DONE!!! WOO-HOO!!! 60 packets sealed and all envelopes ready to mail. Except the main 20 set one to Twisted Quilter, have to make a "receive" envelope, buy postage, then package it. Also, I have 6 sets of 50 still available. They are ready to ship, no waiting. :-D :-D :-D :-D ATTN: ALL SWAPPERS::::: I have a mystery label. I was keeping track of my side swaps on one sheet of paper, # sets, board name, real name/addr. I have ended up with an extra label!!! Who is Emily P???? Am I swapping 1.5 stamps with you? I have checked my PM box & I cannot figure it out. EMILY P *(*(*(*)*)*)* PLEASE PM ME!!!!! |

I'll be sending mine out this afternoon!
|
I SENT MY STAMPS OUT YESTERDAY SO YOU SHOULD GET THEM SOON.
TWISTED, THE BAGGIE WITH NO LABEL IS YOURS FOR DOING THIS. |
Okay, due to my mail carrier not taking mine (it's the rules and someone decided to obey) mine went out today! Must be a new carrier because the one I've had for more than 20 years, knows that I'm a quilter and takes them!
|
I sent the stamps out in the mail today.
Please let me know when you receive them. Thanks, Gail |
i didn't make it to the post office today so my stamps will be mailed tomorrow.
