They are terrific, can't believe we have some almost finished this early. I just started back to work and now have very little time, please be patient with me because I have 4 other swaps to do also.

Jennifer22206 06-16-2011 04:40 PM

If it counts, I have my backgrounds cut and most of the dresses and hats on fusible. :) Nothing cut out of course, but it's kinda there. :D

dotcomdtcm 06-16-2011 05:21 PM

QuilterMomma 06-17-2011 07:21 AM

I was inspired by the 30's sunbonnet sues done so I am going to have to do a set like those also so now I am down for two.

lynnie 06-18-2011 07:20 AM

Dotty, they came out soooo cute, i don't have fabs like you, mine are more moder or themed, so i guess i'll do that.

Jennifer22206 06-18-2011 07:22 AM

Modern works too! Anything goes. :) I've got some modern prints I have scraps of so I'll be using them for be of my sets!

Do they have to be hand stitch, I'm just not any good at that plus it makes my hands hurt, is it ok to machine stitch around the edges?

dotcomdtcm 06-18-2011 04:16 PM

Hostess told me it's ok to machine stitch.

Can you crop? We are supposed to send 10 inch blocks. I cut my background 11", expecting some pulling after stitching. These are darling!

dotcomdtcm 06-20-2011 12:53 PM

Those sound great! I just realized I want to make one more Sue for our swap hostess. She lives near the beach, so her Sue will stand barefoot surrounded by seashells!

Jennifer22206 06-20-2011 12:54 PM

lindyline - go for it!! Have fun. :)

fromzstore 06-22-2011 02:31 PM

can these be machine embrodery squares

Jennifer22206 06-23-2011 03:41 AM

Sure. As long as the block is 10.5". The embroidery doesn't have to be that big - you can put a border of whatever around it!

Hi, I have a quick question, I am finishing my first set of sue's and sam's, I did a matching sue and sam, three different sets, for a total of l set of six. My question is, I want to do some more, but, I want to try another pattern of sue, and there is no sam with her, can I just do 6 sue's with the same background, different fabrics for her and no sam's to match? Thanks! jean
