    Went to the site. They are eith 12 inch or 13 /14. Do you use the 13 and trim to 12 1/2? If you use the 12 do you just add a 1/2 inch on all the sides?
    New to quilting and just want to be proud of my blocks

    they have already added the seam allowances, these are 12 inches finished...which is what you want. We call it 12.5 unfinished...

    you use the 12.
    They come out as 12 1/2".
    The measurement is the finished measurement for a quilt.

    I hope I explained that well.

    Just a quick FYI...I would love to claim making those black and white blocks, but they aren't from me.

    I have to move my needle just a couple of threads to the right for the block to come out to 12.5. Some machines are already set up for this, some have to move the needle just a titch.
