I just finished all the blocks for jillnjos quilt. Have to press, size, and then assemble. I may have to buy a little more fabric for the binding. Not enough left out of what I have. Unless I use something that was an aquisition for the church quilt. Here it is. Not quilted yet, longarm is not working properly. Got tired of rethreading the bugger. Don't like it when things slow me down.

Beautiful quilt!!! Wow looks like a lot of work and love went into the making of this quilt!!
I, too, hate it when something with my sewing machine isn't acting right and I have to stop sewing to mess with it, especially when I am the middle of a sewing groove!!

The gals in the group did not like the "Pastels" I am getting better now with buying them (LOL jillnjo) yes, someone had to go outside the lines and throw a dark in there. We have agreed that I am going to move that block into the center. It just does not look good there in the bottom left corner. Nice thing is the pastels for jillnjos quilt look really nice and there are no outside the lines blocks at all in it. She will like that.

I don't like this either, especially when I am nearing the end of a project. Not knowing what kind of LA you have I'll just throw out here the fact that when mine is giving me grief it's almost always because the sensors aren't hitting the track fully. You might try cleaning your tracks, wheels and sensors with some alcohol on cotton balls and then pressing all the sensors down tight against the track. I hope this helps. Your quilt is really lovely! I adore sampler quilts. Do you have enough scraps left that you could make a pieced binding from them? Either way, I love this quilt and the dark block doesn't even bother me. Nice job

thanks Rose. I did a lot of research on the internet yesterday, Gammill Classic Plus, and spoke with a friend in my longarm guild. I came up with the last thing I had to fix on it was the check spring. When watching a youtube video of Jason Reichert/Sharon Schamber, I did not recall turning the shaft 180 degrees after putting in the new check spring. So I took it apart again, did the turn, reattached it. This made the stitch better and less breakage but was still to much tension on top thread. So I bypassed the thread sensor wheel and then it worked much better with a great stitch. Glad I bought a towa gauge. Best investment. So I finished a farm quilt that I was using as working quilt, then did a baby quilt for a friend and minimal problems. So now put on a wall hanging going to double check with to be sure ok, then i will put the church quilt on it. i finished moving the block this am, dog, 14 years old, woke me up again! at 4:00 am. Poor thing, just can't go past a few hours and has to go potty. Getting old is tough. Will see how that works. I am just doing a pantograph on the church quilt. I almost want to do specialty quilting on it, but short of time and confidence.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Did you hear that sigh?. It was one of those I am so relieved, good kinda sighs. Finally, finally, have got my sewing room to an order that my mind is at peace and that means I no longer get distracted by trying to stay focused on my 'whatever I am working on' project. I'm tidy by nature and for the last several months we have been tackling a lot of projects around here. And although my sewing room was definately usable, it wasn't working for me. But now..

This weekend dh will be away and I plan to get back to QuilterMomma's quilt top. There are a gazillion pieces that need to be fused, then stitiched and repeated for every layer. I'm not one to fuse everything and stitch just the exposed parts of the pieces. . Now that is a topic for a thread, isn't it? When appliquing, do you fuse everything at once then stitch only the exposed areas, or do you fuse each layer and stitch all of every piece? Hm.

Maybe I'll take a of the backside when all the appliquing is done.

    Best,
    d

QuilterMomma; What a beautiful sampler quilt! I started a bit of straight line quilting on your quilt today. -I'm ready to work on it and see the finished product!

So excited, both my partners are working hard. I am so excited. Makes me want to work harder on yours. Jillnjo, I have all your blocks done. I have to size one set of five up because they need to be a bit more even. Sometimes patterns just don't have the "exact" measurement. Also, ppm has a factor in it. then sew them together, put the border on, pattern called for one, but may add one more just to pop it a bit more. Then onto quilting. Nice thing is the longarm is working now so will be able to do a special job on quilting. I think mine is special because you have patterns on both sides! never had a quilt that way. So excited.
Whigrose, Thanks for the update. Yours still needs some applique. Picked up some squares of 1930s so I can add the applique pieces in a variety. Since I have a little more time, finishing up some other things that are so close to being finished like jillnjos. What fun!
