So another day, and I now have the blocks sewn together. I think I need to add a zinger to this one and then the borders will go on. If I get a chance today, will pop out at lunch pick up fabric for zinger and binding then get them on. Wonder if I can do during the lunch hour, hmmmmmm. Are there any miracles for me today?

How wonderful ligia. You really got on the ball. I see you are loving retirement. Lucky you. So that is why it got done so quick. Hmmmmmmmm, no kids at home either I suppose?

Got the blocks sewn up this am at the office. Yep, boss let me sew in office in am. He even bought lunch for hubby and I today! Is that good or what. I may get bored, but I am sure spoiled.

Now I have to go and get a zinger and the binding. I hope to finish mine up this weekend unless I get a wild hair and decide I have to do an extreme quilting job. Using a wool batting on this one so I think i want to keep the fluffy going with the pastels. Does Fluffy and Pastel go together in a quilt?

    d "
When appliquing, do you fuse everything at once then stitch only the exposed areas, or do you fuse each layer and stitch all of every piece? "

I would think you have to press/fuse each piece. i used applique pins, stuck straight down, to hold it in place on a pressing board...then slowly pressed as i removed the pins. then stitched the exposed areas only. I am no expert at this,of course..but it is the way i have done it ...good luck!

    Watterstide,
I have been appliquéing for years. I use the fuse the first layer, stitch, add next layer stitch, so forth and so on.Slow, uses more thread and way more consuming but it is what I do.

    Best,

Indeed ! Big changes to come very soon:
Moving to another state in 2 months, first grandchild will be born in Europe early June, second grandchild will be born on this side of the pound early August.
I'm living by myself for 10 ys now, will have to get used to little people visits , overnights, an so on ...
To be on the safe side its better to have this quilt done in advance.

I am relieved I found an olive green pastel to add a little bit of pizzazz to the pastel quilt I am working on. Will get that on and hopefully get quilted no later than next week. I know, had to put off a bit yet. A few life issues have come up again so slowed me down. My poor littly toy poodle, 14 years old, has had diaharea for two weeks. Not sure what is going on. Have to take him to vet. Then fridge went out so having that repaired. Man, what is the thing with all this stupid little stuff going on. Husband will not be back to work for another six weeks. Ugh. Thank you Lord I have quilting to keep my mind off the other stuff. Good think I have lots of PHDs to get done.

Sounds lovely, Quilter!! I am quilting on yours a little today, too. Isn't it the pits to have appliances break down? So much money to replace them. Sorry about the little doggy! Keep your chin up- it'll get better. And did you get YOUR coffee today? I did!

PHDs -- not of the scholastic variety? That's a new acronym for me. What does it stand for?
