That is just the way they did things in the '30's and '40's. See, I told you I was probably just plain. There is something I really like about the blocks and think you should not change them. Maybe a quilt with just those blocks and a plain sashing to "rest the eyes" would be a great way to use them together. It reminds me of those pictures that when you turn them a tiny bit, the picture changes, but I can't think of what they are called. It's actually a pretty cool effect.

Now I am soooooo confused....Maybe I will just go with it and see how it goes, mixed in among other blocks, it really looks cool. Decisions, decisions, decisions.... may just ask hubby what he thinks.

In the 30's they used what they had, sometimes it matched. Some beautiful quilts along with a sense of color and value came from the mixing of various fabrics that initially would not be considered a match...it is so interesting to see how others match colors and patterns!

Fun2quilt, I think you should do what feels right for you. :)

Glad you joined. :-) We have family in Elkins and Keyser, and friends in Buchannon. Are you close to these areas?

Thank you so much... The students will really appreciate it. Hopefully, when we get them made I will TRY to post them on here... Maybe you will recognize a few pieces of the fabric. Tell the ladies who choose to donate how much I really appreciate their donations.
