Round Robins are fun. A group of local quilters are participating in a round robin ( their first one) and they came up with their own rules which worked for them. Here are there results of their original 12 ' blocks and round one. the second round will be completed for our meeting May 11. You can follow their progress at: http://7quiltingladies.blogspot.com/

I might like to do a row robin this time around. I think it would be a great way to learn a new technique like the Paper piecing or applique and you'd get enough blocks done to really be more comfortable with it and know if you really like it or not. and if you did 8 inch blocks you could go maybe 6or 7 blocks for row lap size before borders. 12 in 4 or 5 per row 6 inch 8 or 0 per row. Might even get a couple of them going if you wanted to do more than 1 size or more than one technique. Just some thoughts.

Just doing some figuring.
If you did a row with 6in(finished blocks) 12 people each making a row you would have a 60x72 without borders or sashing

8inch(finished) 8 blocks a piece 9 per group would make 64 x 72 without borders or sashings

12 in block 5 blocks each with 6-7 per group would have 60x72 or 60x84... without borders or sashings.

This sounds doable what does everyone else think?

Does anyone have an issue if it is an international RR? I'm in Canada & just want to make sure of that

I think 6 is the number everyone has been using because it equates to the center plus 5 borders. 8-10 would be too large for one pass.

We should decide if we are doing a Row Robin or a Round Robin before we go much further. The recent comments seem to prefer a Row Robin which would allow more than 6 participants and could easier be an International Row Robin. I believe dear, generous, helpful Kerielt has sorta/kinda/almost volunteered to head this exchange. (You go girl!)

I was only commenting on how I understand the ongoing round robins to work - nothing else. For me having a center that gets past 6 participants would not be doable. Others may feel differently.
