Row Robin 2011 - "Memory Makers" Group 15

So I got my row done last night, a whole five days before the deadline! *grin* That's, like, unheard of. Deadlines are my blood. *grin*
This row was an adventure in applique; I've never really done any applique before (except for appliqueing English-paper-pieced things onto a background, but that's not the same), but it stuck in my head for this row idea, and I'm glad I tried. Overall, it went more quickly and smoothly than I expected. The stiff fabric was actually the easiest to sew down, which taught me that next time I'll starch the bejeebers out of a fabric before I sit down to sew.
Only one block didn't really work; it looks like Cthullhu instead of the Parthenon, and it ate up some of the background fabric and thereby made the block all wonky. I may have to rip it off and redo it if it stays too wonky even with the sashing on. But that's a problem for another day.
Most likely it will go out in the mail tomorrow, hooray!
I'll send along a square of blank fabric for signatures: I'll make a label at the end with all the pertinent info, and then sew the signature block underneath it.

Well, it appears it came out at an angle even though I stood on a chair, but hey. :)
These are all places I've been: the Space Needle (of course), a pink-looking cathedral in Spain (I actually had the proper pink fabric set aside, but by the time I remembered, I had the cathedral all sewn down in this ridiculous pink and didn't want to tear it off), some Irish sheep, the Parthenon, and the Eiffel Tower... which is not as cool as the Space Needle. *grin*

Wow our blocks look great and I think this challenge is really making us think and will be so much fun. So glad you recieved my block. I finally was able to get all the paper off the label and will finish it and send it on soon. I wonder if I want to not see my rows till done and be surprised. I'll let you all know, soon.

would you rather we didn't sew them together at all? and just give us a heads up when you get to the PO and no hurry, we'd rather you be safe

I'll get my box in the mail as soon as life resumes here in Arkansas.
Thanks again for the compliments.

Saritabee, I got your row today, and I love the fabrics you used, and it looks like all of the fabrics I bought will work (color wise), I'm going to pull the patterns I had picked out for your rows and see how they will work, I'm going to do the 2 with embroidery first
